Kaida, hearing his name, wiggles on his back in his bed, opening his mouth with excitement.

"Ah, it's just Follow Kanna, but the videos are only in Dragon space." Clans weren't the biggest sharers of social media unless it was super-popular or Imperial-sanctioned. "Would be fun if I could be like Miya Kisha-sama and do it here too, but I think that is something more to consider if we manage to secure some contracts with the Crab."

"Speaking of, what are you planning to do with any holdings here? Or is that entirely up to your clan?"

"Holdings? Dunno, Yakura-chan's got her boat, she'll probably want a bigger boat, or more boats. I mean, what else would you want?"

Ochiba resists the urge to start spoiling Kaida again.

"I'd probably like enough cash for my own ship, so that's easy. The name's gonna be hard though...hmmm. Any recommendations? Otherwise really whatever the Clan wants. Most of its beyond my paygrade. What about on your end? More grist for the spa empire?"

"Those sound pretty profitable. Some folks make big koku off that kinda research, risky though. Dunno, what they got on this island."
Except perhaps, giant volcano lizards.

"She's got like a terrible boss? And health problems? And family stuff? It all sounds pretty rough, like she's in big trouble if she doesn't change something soon."
Ochiba shrugs with a 'been there, done that' motion.
"Not sure how she can wriggle out of it. If it were local you know, I could just take some direct action. But as it is she'll have to figure it. She likes you though, big fan."

She sits up more straight, taking in what Ochiba is telling her. "That... that sounds very bad. Hm, I must be more supportive of her then!" Luckily, she'd hear all about it from Ichitaiyo the next day. "Oh," a small blush underneath the face-mask, "she's a fan of me? But she is so cool! Much cooler than me!"

She sits up more straight, taking in what Ochiba is telling her. "That... that sounds very bad. Hm, I must be more supportive of her then!" Luckily, she'd hear all about it from Ichitaiyo the next day. "Oh," a small blush underneath the face-mask, "she's a fan of me? But she is so cool! Much cooler than me!"

"She knows how to fill in all that boring paperwork that I never managed to make sense of!"

"Boring paperwork is by definition, super not cool. But I mean, I can see why she'd enjoy your company. She's feeling down you're like...this aura of happiness? Dunno, it's nice though."

Grinning.
"I will say, being a detective is super cool though. Even if professionally it's a bit more complicated. Have you ever considered having an offsider? Like a very organised samurai who can do that boring paperwork and lookout for you?"

"Yeah, I think as a backup, just in case?" Blinking and then leaning a back a little, clearly trying to be nonchalant.
"Not like I'm invested or anything, just something to think about, you know?"

More blinking as she looks back.
"Uhhh? Yeah? You're friendly, you give gifts, your dog is insanely cute. You're nice to be around, it's a good vibe."
