[Day 4 - Early Afternoon] RP Thread: Fan Con

[Yasuki Honoka]

"Well, why wouldn't she be friendly?" He said with some slight confusion about the matter, clearly not as enlightened or empathetic of Honoka's internal concerns. "She's been in the spotlight for so long that I don't think she would throw it away by souring the same people who supported her all these years. Actually, going from star to karo isn't so much different. Besides, she happens to know you, even more reason she wouldn't have an issue."

"You have to be made of stern stuff and have a hard shell if you're in show business. In Aoi48 alone, you have to deal with tour dates, dance practice, vocal coaching, public appearances and other publicity dates. If she wasn't fine, she would have been cut..." He paused for a moment to scratch his neck. "I mean, graduate from the group very early on."

There was an idea that dawned on him. "Say, has Umiko-chan been over to your restaurant yet? What's it about again?"

Umiko sure is amazing, the thought had her drifting into it, thinking deeper on that with all the things Kaito was saying. Then, the question!

"O-oh!" she stammers, "Briefly, yes. I suppose she has. Just for a quick visit. But uh, it's Crabkaku. I've always had a fondness for crabs and I thought it would be good to have a place where people could enjoy one of the uses we have for crab while learning about them. They're such versatile little creatures. We even have a little gift shop," she adds on.

[Kitsune Kiyoshi]

He looked at her with some surprise. And, lowered his voice.

"Was the message regarding a Forever Night? I and a few others found that burned into a wall at the Hotel Nakahama site. We took an interest and have investigated it. It likely does have something to do with this game. I've heard that some of the interactions can be very theatrical and dramatic. The video would imply that your sister is heavily involved in the game, though. Maybe she's played it before?"

He glance around. "One of us did find some historic references to an Eternal or Forever Night in her research. Some ancient cult that was fixated on the end of all things. But, that seems likely to be coincidental. Or, perhaps it was an inspiration for a fictional group within the game."

[Agasha Sorato]

"Just be sure to leave yourself enough money to enjoy the rest of your visit, Agasha-san. There's still a lot to look forward to, and you wouldn't want to have to sit idly by like a monk on a vow of poverty, ne?" she said with good cheer.

"My needs are simple," he chuckles. "The Clan keeps a roof over my head while I'm here. As long as I don't have to rent a costume every day for the rest of the investment summit, I think I'll be all right. I don't spend much out in the field, in any case. "

[Yasuki Taraka]

"Just be sure to leave yourself enough money to enjoy the rest of your visit, Agasha-san. There's still a lot to look forward to, and you wouldn't want to have to sit idly by like a monk on a vow of poverty, ne?" she said with good cheer.

Taraka shook her head.

"Ah, a roof over your head, two bowls of rice...and the latest mini-fig to keep your family happy, just as your ancestors believed." she teased a bit.

She got a text on her communicator.

She frowned consideringly at the text.

"Ah, would you excuse me, Agasha-san? I've enjoyed speaking with you, but I've just gotten the signal that Doji Yayoi is needed for a crisis." she said to excuse herself.

[Agasha Sorato]

Taraka shook her head.

"Ah, a roof over your head, two bowls of rice...and the latest mini-fig to keep your family happy, just as your ancestors believed." she teased a bit.

She got a text on her communicator.

<Yasuki-sama! We really need you over here, please! - Jimen Tori Tea>

She frowned consideringly at the text.

"Ah, would you excuse me, Agasha-san? I've enjoyed speaking with you, but I've just gotten the signal that Doji Yayoi is needed for a crisis." she said to excuse herself.

"Of course." He bows with courtly courtesy (somewhat spoiled by the water salamander plushy almost falling off his shoulder and having to be hastily rescued. "I hope we meet again soon, Yasuki-san. Or, ah, Doji-sama."

She bowed and made her....

Umiko sure is amazing, the thought had her drifting into it, thinking deeper on that with all the things Kaito was saying. Then, the question!

He tossed the lollipop stick at a nearby bin, which unfortunately missed, and he didn't make the effort to go for it again. That's the cleaning staff's job. "You know, I could maybe talk to my superiors and colleagues. If you would be interested, we could potentially do a highlight of your restaurant in one of the Silver Fin Chill variety shows. You'll get only older eyes on it, sure, but it's still publicity. To make it better, maybe we can rope either Umiko-chan or Ayame-chan to be featured. So it kind of does two things for the province, it gives them a chance to know the ruling party of the province better, all while your restaurant gets a bit of side exposure, what do you think?"

That was a flood of information for Umiko to progress. She sat in her seat, almost like a statue, as she rode a short emotional roller coaster that eventually ended with a realization that she might have gone about this ominous message the wrong way this entire time. There was some relief found at the end of this ride, but she couldn't shake the feeling that she was made to be an absolute fool. At whose expense? For games? Amusement?!

"So, I see..." she would eventually say, seemingly devoid of emotion as she wrestled with herself further. Is this what the Dragon's divination was about?!

"Oh! I see! Aha!" Umiko would eventually muster a forced chuckle on the matter. "My apologies, I might have misunderstood the whole situation! Thank you for enlightening me, Kitsune-san! It seems that my case has been solved by the Mystery 5, after all. Kind of fitting, actually."

"I am considering attending the game tonight. If I notice anything strange... Well, stranger than expected, I'll let you know. The message and the.video sem a bit extreme. What did your sister think about it?"
He kept his voice low, but he imagined those lining up were wondering what they were discussing.

"That would be excellent, I think. Do you think Yasuki Umiko or her sister would be particularly interested? I suppose I could always ask them myself of course but... Well, I am sure you know her well enough or you wouldn't be offering," she says with a light nervous chuckle.

Umiko couldn't help but give a rather small shake of her head. "I haven't been able to talk to my sister about it, actually...she's been pretty busy. I take it that it's about this game thing...Now that you've really put it into perspective for me, the whole thing really seems more mundane than I thought."

Indeed, there was some peering over and glances in their direction as it seemed some fans eagerly waited for Umiko to be done with her small pocky-like snack break.

"Ahh, thank you again for the information," she said with a bow of thanks. "I imagine that something like this must have come as a surprise to you, at some point in time."

[Yasuki Kaito]

Honoka's eyes were resting on the tossed lollipop stick while Kaito gave the pitch. Admittedly, she'd actually lost a bit of focus due to it. She couldn't very well just bend down and pick it up herself, that would be rude. However, gosh was it bothering her to just see it discarded like that. Oh, wait right the conversation... I guess it's kind of my idea and it involves multiple cogs, so I can do all of the footwork if it's easier for you. You just have to maybe prep a spot, enough to fit a small crew of cameras, and get some sample or really presentable dishes ready. I'm picturing that we might do a short interview with you, then bring in our guests of honour. You can then wheel them some dishes, something that can get people talking, that makes them give the obligatory 'wow, this is the best food ever' sort of deal."

"I'm really generalizing but do you think you'll be able to set the stage, if I bring in the players, Yasuki-san?" He looked at her curiously, wondering if she caught all of that. "Maybe we could aim for the day after tomorrow (Day 6). There's going to be something of a shooting for Jade Chef, you know that show, right? We can borrow the same crew to do our thing. Maybe late afternoon?"

[Kitsune Kiyoshi]

"Yes. But, it has been pointed out to me that the great supernatural evil, turning out to be someone running around in a mask is something I should be used to." he chuckled. "I'm pleased I could alleviate your concerns. Thank you for sharing your snack with me. I hope I can return the favor."

[Yasuki Honoka]

Kaito put his hands in his pockets and found some place to lean on as they continued with their conversation. "It would never hurt to try. "We have one table set right in front of one of our larger aquariums that I think would be a perfect fit for a backdrop but I suppose that would be your expertise," she says, with a light breath that almost rose to a soft laugh but didn't quite make it.

She looked to the line before her and presented a bright smile, waving to a few of them who looked in her direction. "I should return to attending my fans, especially now that they've waited so patiently! Thank you for the chat, Kitsune-san."

"Oh that would help immensely, I am always so busy and it has not let up this week. I've even been trying to meet with those visiting that I might have a better sense of what is ahead of us," she pauses, realizing she's going off on a tangent. It's a really small world that I've managed to run into a friend of my cousin's, who also happens to own a newly opened restaurant. Funny how things fall into place that way..." He gave a few nods, mostly to himself, as some cogs turned in his head.

"Yeah, that should work. It would help if I saw it for myself too, so I'll be there early, before the guests of honour. Umiko-chan or Ayame-chan, hopefully both, maybe some other celebrities, it'll be great. We'll make it great, Yasuki-san!" He said optimistically on the matter, hoping that the mood would hype up Honoka.

"See you then, Yasuki Kaito-san," she bids with a bow, watching Kaito leave. Waiting for her chance once he has. Just long enough for him to properly be out of view, and a few more steps to make sure he didn't turn around. Then, with a scoff from her yojimbo behind her, she bends down and picks up the lollipop stick from before, placing it into the bin properly.

"Okay- back to it then," she says, looking to Hiroto whom only nods in response. Returning to look for others to help, and enjoy the rest of her con experience.
