Classic Unicorn airforce strategy was still imprinted on her mind, though. Move fast, flank enemy units, shoot before they do, leave before they see you.
She studied the options they had here, wondering if she could pull something similar.
She studied the dangers posed by the Tsuburo no Oni Spawn. That'd make ranged or aerial tactics much harder...
Then she watched as Soshi Kotori's Ashigaru Squad made improvements to her castle, some of which actually survived the enemy onslaught.
She walked around the teams, thought of what she'd heard from local friends about historical Crab Clan tactics.
And she knew what to do.
She enlisted two sets of Ashigaru Squads. One of them, she strictly directed to keep renovating the Castle and the wall between waves of enemies. If a strong wall became stronger, that had to play to their advantage, right? And when the enemy came, their hammers should be effective.
The other team she asked to take brooms, shovels, rakes and the like. Nakahama was a beachside city - it woudn't do to let the enemies soil their grounds! Morale was important! The Beach Cleaning Squad would keep the area around the castle as shiny and inviting as possible - and smack cursed forces with their cleaning implements, at Itsuka's orders!
The workers would need a good, strong team to keep them safe, of course. Considering the dangerous Oni Spawn, a strong, burly team of protectors was best. And thus she gathered some of the burliest recruits around for her final unit - the Bouncer Trouncers!
The Zombies proved tricky, and they leave some marks on the castle's walls. The Renovation Team did a good job, though, and it was still looking even better than other teams' regardless of that early assault.
The Goblins, the Ogres and even the Tsuburu no Oni Spawn were made quick work of, with the Ashigaru Hordes quickly and furiously descending on them, weakening them so the Bouncer Trouncers could easily... well, trounce them.
The challenge posed by the gigantic Ugulu no Oni would be their last test - it seemed like its thick "skin" was much more resistant to the Renovation workers' hammers, and against an enemy who was much tougher and was still standing strong, the Bouncer Trouncers' attacks faltered.
It seemed inevitable that the Ugulu no Oni would come upon them. It would sow chaos and lay waste to the beach around the castle that the Cleaning Squad was so carefully tending to between enemy assaults!
.... suddenly, the humongous three-Hiruma-on-a-coat monster hesitated, stepped to the side, stumbled a bit. It seemed like the sun shining on the pristine beach had turned him away! It still tried launching a giant stage rock at the castle, but it just brushed agaist the wall and sat there as the Bouncers went at the Oni again, this time effectively Trouncing him.
When the onslaught was finally defeated, the castle did look better than it did at first. Maybe even better than the Soshi's! She didn't have a beach, did she?
That rock did some damage... but it almost looked like it could be part of a rock garden. Maybe the Renovation Team could do something with it?....
