Ayame tapped her temple like she was in the know of the compliment and bobbed her head in full agreement. "Don't need to go to Kaiu academy to be pretty smart, you know. I'm not just pretty and deadly here."

"Yeah...maybe there's like different ranks of enlightenment. Like, once you're enlightened, you can feel way better about yourself. Like you sort of realize that there's happiness then there's all this other happiness that you could buy for yourself if you had more koku and power to your estate, then you get even more enlightened. Then you kind of get used to it, and it's normal, so you have to pull yourself back to keep it real, maybe do less rich things so that when you go back, it feels great again. So like, you can have an islet where you can shoot your own sharks and be alone. Then you come back, but you slum it out in a love hotel, by the hour. Then things start getting into perspective for you?" She said with a hand gesture of 'bringing it back'.

"Oh... I don't know," she said with a slow blink. "Kind of thought I would do this military thing for a long while. Maybe to get to some point where I got assigned to a new mission, then boom, it's suddenly a miai, and everyone is converging to me to hold me down."

Ochiba was in complete agreement once 'shooting sharks' was mentioned, nodding along eagerly with a mouth full of snacks.

"mwhoh mhhanm". Swallowing. "I've heard about those miais, sounds kinda crazy. All those young samurai, can only imagine the trouble they get up to. Seems like one of those lame supervised parties."

Ochiba leans over and places another Mochi in Ayame's hand.
"Don't let them like, hold you down. You gotta be awesome...and stay...awesome, right? Promise."

Ayame didn't let go of the topic just yet. "...You know, if you want an islet where you shoot sharks as a business, I might know a girl who might be able to fix you up with something if you have the capital for it. She's really smooth and kinda hot. Kinda flexible."

"It's me," she would say in a half-whisper to her to ruin the suspense.

"I hear many of them are like game shows, where you must get married in the end. And you don't have to worry, I'm always awesome." She flashed her a quick wink and looked down at the mochi, immediately gobbling it up. Even in mid-chew, she motioned to the crackers she had earlier, not wanting to miss her part of that.

"Soff," she said as the glutinous rice got the better of her this time around. "Mrphumph difs bout a Maiu?"

"Ummm, yeah we should totally do that. I hope this girl comes by from time to time though, you know."

Cool, cool. Yeah, you're awesome, I'm awesome. We're both enlightened."
Life, Ochiba reflected, was good.

"Oh just glad I never got dragged off to one, I guess being aboard this vessel and that makes that pretty difficult."
Sympathetically.
"I mean, you probably gotta marry someone important. But I hope they're cool, you know? Like...that girl level of cool. Oh, and flexible too."

Gasp. "Wait...it's you!?!?! And you are really flexible!"
Ochiba grins approvingly.
"Ummm, yeah we should totally do that. I hope this girl comes by from time to time though, you know."

Life, Ochiba reflected, was good.

"If I had come in at the same time as this girl, I might be in trouble," she said before eating half a mouthful of crackers and letting out a giggle as she tried to work out the logistics of being two people in once. It might have been obvious to some that involved with her twin but considering they were so different from each other, that wasn't an option. It was just more amusing needing to constantly swap around to back up her story.

She gave a shrug of her shoulder before accepting it after a swallow of food and a gulp of water. "Yeah...Eventually, I guess that's how things are supposed to work out when you're important or related to important people. I might have someone who's super interested, kind of squirrelly, kind of important. Still kind of trying to figure her out. Not that marriage stopped people from having fun after, traditionally, they say."

"I dunno, maybe you could just tell them to shove it? Dunno how that layer of Crab politics works though...maybe if they just stopped all that like, politicking and just ate snacks and hunted sharks they'd be happier."

"Doesn't surprise me you got a suitor, I imagine there's a long line for a Governor who's also a badass and a baddie. I mean, for some it's probably infatuation at first sight."

Ochiba finishes her chips and starts crawling around the hide looking for any further snacks until she returns triumphantly with some cups of yogurt.
"Either way, I hope you have lots of traditional fun in the future. And that people just deal with you being awesome and shoving them...but for now I'm taking the chocolate yogurt."
