(Closed) Post Smut Clarity [Day 8 ME]

[Yoritomo Ochiba]

"Well." Ochiba lies back against the pillows with a smug expression and a glow of warmth in her cheeks. "I don't mean to brag, but I feel I completely outdid myself there."

They were up in a hunting blind in the forest, essentially a small camouflaged treehouse where hunters could wait for their pray. The inside was cozy, and now starting to slow cool with the evening, if only slightly. A couple sleeping bags and camping pillows, some jugs of drink and packets of food (none of it healthy, most of it delicious) and a small collection of other objects which seemed trapped behind a blurred filter.


"You were of course...uhh, yeah. Possibly, maybe even slightly more amazing than I, although it could be close, going either way."

She rolls over and rummages around in her backpack before fishing out a small packet.
"Share a joint? Or keeping it straight and even to get back to it?"

There was a niggling thought that had been eating away at the Mantis, and this might be her only chance to raise it, but for a moment she waits.

[Yasuki Ayame]

Ayame found a good, comfortable spot on her back and let out a sigh, then followed by a tired chuckle. "You know...As much as I'd like the challenge you're trying to get out of me, Ochiba-chan. I'm more than willing to just call it even and great for both of us. Anything more and then I'll really have to break out the Kaiu toys to show you a thing or two. Then, you're going to really lose. Or win, one of those."

She brushed some hair from her face before resting her forearm atop her temple as she looked up at the ceiling.

"...Mmm" she murmured in thought at first, thinking it would be better if she didn't, but then eventually just gave up wanting to stay on the moral high ground. "I have a hit. 'Kami, it's been a very long day..."

Ayame found a good, comfortable spot on her back and let out a sigh, then followed by a tired chuckle. "You know...As much as I'd like the challenge you're trying to get out of me, Ochiba-chan. I'm more than willing to just call it even and great for both of us. Anything more and then I'll really have to break out the Kaiu toys to show you a thing or two. Then, you're going to really lose. Or win, one of those."

She brushed some hair from her face before resting her forearm atop her temple as she looked up at the ceiling.

"...Mmm" she murmured in thought at first, thinking it would be better if she didn't, but then eventually just gave up wanting to stay on the moral high ground. "I have a hit. 'Kami, it's been a very long day..."

"Are we counting a butt slap as a kharmic strike?"
Ochiba starts snickering.
"But agreed, it's a team sport anyway."
She concentrates and lights the rollup with a spark from her fingers and takes a deep puff before exhaling in a cloud of smoke.

"This isn't that cheap stuff, this is Moshibud, perfect for relaxing and thinking deep thoughts."
She holds it out to Ayame.
"You've been real busy and....look, I know this is terrible pillow talk, like, maybe actually the worst other than asking how you're related but..."
She rests an arm behind her head.
"What's going on with all the rumours and stuff? People are talking shit, and obviously I'm pretty biased because I'm 80% sure of only slept with one of the two parties involved, but it seems kinda targeted. What's going on? You're tight with your sister right?...Is it Kuni-sama? Because once this delightful high dies down I will go beat his ass."

[Yasuki Ayame]

Ayame found lying down comfortable, but she was willing to exert some effort to sit once more when the joint was passed to her.

"Hopefully, more of the former than the latter..." she said before taking a hit from it. There was a bit of restraint on her part to withhold a cough, masking it more as a throat clearing before passing it back to the Mantis.

There was a slow blink on her part, a much delayed reaction, before she would say. "Hah, what, now?"

It took a moment before she recalled the role-play session she had with the Scorpion when she just about brought up the same thing. "Oh, right. Mmm...I'm not too sure, honestly. Apparently, I have some haters out there. Those who hate me enough to want to come after me, if the magistrate's report is to be believed. Maybe it's part of that? I don't think it would be Umiko-chan...Kuni-san seems a bit too much on the straight and narrow to do something like that."

There was also Kaito, but either she thought he wasn't part of the equation deliberately, or she was ignorant of his involvement.

There was a slow blink on her part, a much delayed reaction, before she would say. "Hah, what, now?"

"You'll probably get relaxed and a little happy or hungry...oh, you mean like, what now! As now?"
Ochiba frowns in thought gets distracted looking at Ayame for about 5 seconds and then slowly collects herself.

"It's cool you're chill about it. Nobody wants someone in charge who's lashing out and stuff. But..."
Ochiba scratches the back of her neck.
"Folks talking that sort of talk about a captain behind her back is how ships come to grief. It's weird though, you're like...new? And it's not like anything has gone wrong."

She holds her hand out for the joint.
"And you're friendly and incredibly hot. Why are these folks hating? I mean, if not you it's your sis and she she seems pretty straight." Coughing. "Like, as in a good person, from what Yakura tells me that's how it is."

"As now-now," she would respond with something of an involuntary giggle. Maybe this was a sort of debate they could have all night if they weren't careful...

"It is a bit weird..." Ayame said as she put herself in a more proper seating position, lazily crossing her legs and putting her hands on her bare knees after passing the joint to Ochiba. "Apparently, this was already happening before Kaito-kun bit it...but, I know that people weren't exactly fans of my father. So it's kind of easy to overlap and expect more of the same with me as her daughter. Things are really that much different here after a year. Okay, maybe better, sleeker, younger, hotter, sexier, kinkier...Okay, so hey, I like wearing latex here and there, but that isn't a big deal. Uh, yeah, that's probably it."

Ayame gave a long blink and leaned forward slightly. "...what do you think is happening with Umiko-chan?" She legitimately asked.

"As now-now," she would respond with something of an involuntary giggle. Maybe this was a sort of debate they could have all night if they weren't careful...

"Well." Ochiba takes a deep inhale and then a somewhat less classy exhale with a slight cough as she thinks it through.
"I think wearing latex in this climate is risky. But on the Umiko stuff... yeah...yeah."

She buys a few moments looking out the blind at the darkening jungle.
"Either she's got your back, or she doesn't. And I don't know which is which, this is family stuff so I mean, she's probably on your side." Another deep breath and exhale. "Maybe someone is trying to drive you apart? Or it's just convenient, still I dunno. I don't really know Umiko, maybe I can ask my cousin though."

With a light smirk.
"We're each big fans of how you guys work. If it's not Umiko then it's what...old enemies of your family? Some other Yasuki making a play? Off-worlders trying to cause chaos for some reason? Worse? It's more questions than answers at this point. I dunno if it's a worry thing, worrying about stuff never gets anyone anywhere. But it might be a worth finding out thing."

She pauses for a moment.
"I dunno why I'm so invested, but you're like the coolest possible version of me and decent...and hot. So it's like, 'hmmm' you know?"

This might have been too much to think about on a high after sex for Ayame. Her gaze looked forward as she tried to scramble for answers, as she forced herself to think through the haze. "...I honestly don't know who would be trying to do that, and Umiko is on my side. She's the more responsible and older sister, anyway."

Ayame widened her eyes and perked up, snapping her fingers in realization and then holding her hands out to command the room, even though it was just the both of them there. "Wait. Wait! Wait...I know who exactly it could be now."

“The spider singer with the huge-“ she gestures at Ayame’s chest.

“She’s pretty good. Seems popular across the whole empire. I can certainly picture you being chill for her.”

Ochiba blinks at the gesture unconsciously sitting up to attention with wide eyes.
“Huh? Have you figured it out? Was it Susumu Yakumo?”

"Oh, yeah," Ayame would bob her head enthusiastically at the mention of Yakumo's assets. It even had someone like Ayame quite impressed, maybe even feeling a tinge of envy. "I guess she's not every Spider, but at least some representation of a possible Spider. The planetary governor wasn't too impressed with me. Wait, could it be him?"

No, Ayame was losing the plot. She had to backtack. "Wait! No, not him! I mean. It could be that Kuni bitch from the LARP the other night. I petitioned to have her banned earlier in the year. Well, it wasn't a petition, more like a report. Not a report but more of a finger-point. When someone ends up bleeding from getting smacked in a LARP, kind of hard not to know who did it. And now her character's dead too! Even more reason it was her!"

Ochiba gently takes Ayame’s shoulders and pulls her in for a kiss.
“Yup, that’s…”
Frowning slightly in between the kisses.
“…wait no it’s not. Sumi? Wouldn’t she like call you out in LARP court?”
Pulling back slightly
“And she’s a power gamer too. Nobody is gonna follow the lead of someone who builds their characters like that. I mean, 3rd edition?”

Ochiba is clearly not exactly deploying 100% of her brain power
“Nah it’s gotta be like…” pondering for 10 long seconds “…Ninjas. They don’t exist, right? So that’s the perfect cover. And they’re after you because…” another 10 second wait “they’re ninjas.”

Problem solved she nods and takes another puff
“Yeah.”

Ayame was not one to pass up a kiss from a lover. It did admittedly taste even sweeter when she was called a genius. That doesn't exactly happen too often!

"Hah? What now? Do what LARP court? Her character is dead, and she would have to reroll a new character to do anything..." She would say at first as a starting thought, before giving a slow blink at something that she wasn't sure of. "...I'm not too sure, actually. Do you think you could actually cheese a combat build with 40 XP? I usually just spend most of my XP on merits, so I'm not too sure if it's possible to min-max there...

"Ninjas..." she murmured pensively, giving it some serious consideration. Even though she said she was only going to take one hit, she did reach for the joint once more for another hit. "...How does one find a ninja? Is that one where they have acid for blood, or their blood is living? Or the one that they look like people but aren't?"

The trick is to never end up in combat or in a situation where you roll anything but social skills. It's been kind of working out so far. Being governor means I can kind of cheat about having natural Revere, if you know what I mean..."

She let out a small cough and cleared her throat after. "Uhm...that sounds pretty tricky as is, especially when you can be mistaken as one too. Seems like the best trick is to just sleep naked, honestly."

Ochiba slowly looks down at herself and then Ayame before starting to giggle.
"We. Are. Geniuses. And that means that like...I've never been a ninja, because being a ninja is kinda scratchy and a little too warm and you wear clothes all day anyway."

Her mind completely blown the Mantis sits in silence for several long moments.
"Well let's kick those ninja asses, you and me, and my ass and your..." She loses her train of thought again staring at Ayame "...Ass. Yeah. But first I'm really hungry? Are you hungry? We kinda worked up an appetite with all that eating."
Ochiba continues giggling as she starts pawing through the snack before finding a pack of mochi.

"I could kiss pass me, look at this...snacks!"

"Honestly, it's the only way to be sure! Maybe I should get to writing a mandate about this for the island." She said before quickly pausing, putting a hand on her chin in a 'I'm thinking' gesture. "Huh, it is kinda relaxing, you know? Having stuff." She munches a handful of chips. "Is this what contentment is like? There's nothing you have to do, or you should do."
Pause.
"Weird, but I kinda get it."

Ayame narrowed her eyes when Ochiba opened the crackers after offering the mochi, wondering if she had been holding out on her when it came to the best snacks. Perhaps adopting some cat mentality, she would reach for the crackers first before even deciding on her pick of mochi. She would stuff a few in her mouth to emit a loud crunch without regard of the local sound by-laws at this hour.

"Mmrrmph, mrrmph-Maiu?" She would murmur curiously middle of a chew before taking a plum wine mochi in hand, not even having finished her mouthful of food yet.

She let out a dry cough after she was done and reached for a bottle of Shiawase Spring water by Uomoto Co. to desperately wash down the dry snacks that she had gorged herself with previously, but immediately popped that mochi she had been holding in her hand after, chewing it in the corner of her mouth. "...That sounds about right, nothing is on fire, you're kind of your own boss. Nah, maybe this kind of feels more like enlightenment? You know, like what the monks become after meditating for so long? Like, I feel they literally feel like this...except with none of that stuff. But hey, enlightenment is enlightenment, right?"

Ochiba is also digging in happily, her own water bottle slightly less commercial than Ayame's.
"Ohhhhh, that's deep."
For a few moments the only sounds are the crunching, chewing and coughing.

"But like, we get enlightenment and sex...hell yeah, it's like, double enlightenment. We're enlightened about....enlightenment. And I'm sort of my own boss and you're your own boss. I want to be enlightened a lot in the future. Like, buy a little place on the coast and enlighten myself. Own a boat, take holidays, shoot sharks."

Ochiba pops another mochi in and continues chewing.

Ochiba is also digging in happily, her own water bottle slightly less commercial than Ayame's.

Ayame tapped her temple like she was in the know of the compliment and bobbed her head in full agreement. "Don't need to go to Kaiu academy to be pretty smart, you know. I'm not just pretty and deadly here."

"Yeah...maybe there's like different ranks of enlightenment. Like, once you're enlightened, you can feel way better about yourself. Like you sort of realize that there's happiness then there's all this other happiness that you could buy for yourself if you had more koku and power to your estate, then you get even more enlightened. Then you kind of get used to it, and it's normal, so you have to pull yourself back to keep it real, maybe do less rich things so that when you go back, it feels great again. So like, you can have an islet where you can shoot your own sharks and be alone. Then you come back, but you slum it out in a love hotel, by the hour. Then things start getting into perspective for you?" She said with a hand gesture of 'bringing it back'.

"Oh... I don't know," she said with a slow blink. "Kind of thought I would do this military thing for a long while. Maybe to get to some point where I got assigned to a new mission, then boom, it's suddenly a miai, and everyone is converging to me to hold me down."
