(Making sense of) Asako Henshin
RANK ONE: THE FOUR MYSTERIES
The first lesson of the mysterious Henshin is the relationship between the individual and the Elements that comprise all things. You may, as a Simple Action, increase or decrease both Traits associated with one of your Rings by an amount equal to your School Rank. This lasts for a number of minutes equal to your Insight Rank and may be done a total number of times per day equal to five times your Insight Rank. You may instead increase or decrease the Traits of another human within 15' and within your line of sight in a similar manner, but only by an amount equal to half your School Rank, rounding down (to a minimum of 1). Altering the Traits of an unknowing or unwilling target requires a Contested Willpower Roll. Traits reduced or increased in this manner do not affect a target’s Rings (and thus do not change Wound Ranks when the Earth Ring is targeted, etc.).

Atemi - Atemi emphasis is not needed to deliver Atemi attacks. The emphasis does convey the usual bonuses (rerolling 1's) for Atemi attacks.

Chi Protection - Willing ally is hit automatically.

Crafty
Crafty does not grant a ghost rank to a Low Skill if a) emphasis is needed for the Skill to be treated as Low Skill AND b) the Roll called does not have the Emphasis making the Skill Roll Low Skill. i.e. Character with Crafty has a ghost rank of 'Engineering (Fleshcraft)', but cannot use this ghost rank for 'Engineering' rolls. Similarly Character with Crafty has a ghost rank of 'Sincerity (Deceit)'. They can use this ghost rank only and only if they are called to roll 'Sincerity (Deceit)'.

Medium - Medium Advantage does not allow you to travel to Tengoku or Meido as both are closed to Ningen-Do. Visiting spirit realms via Medium Advantage does not incur Jealousy.

Shiba Artisan - Shiba Artisan R2 tech can only used to target one person per month.

Brotherhood Monks
Brotherhood Monks begin the game with base Status 1 and Glory 0.

Kitsu Shugenja School
The Eyes of the Ancestors technique cannot detect the Shadowlands Taint disadvantage possessed by characters with less than one Rank of Shadowlands Taint.

Kitsune Shugenja School
Summoning flying animals uses the Air Ring, summoning swimming animals uses the Water Ring, and all other animals use the Earth Ring. A summoned animal spirit is friendly towards you and those with the Blessed by the Realm (Chikushudo) advantage, ambivalent towards others, and hostile towards those with the Curse of the Realms (Chikushudo) disadvantage. Summoned animal spirits will defend you from immediate harm and attack easily indicated enemies, but are otherwise still animals and will react to stimuli as appropriate. Note that the Summon spell is permanent; if you summon an animal, it will remain in the area until it chooses to leave or is driven away. This technique works only in locations that have some connection to Chikushudo and thus will not work on space ships or on space stations save in very unusual circumstances where such a connection exists.

Touch of the Void - The Willpower Trait Roll happens before the Roll the Void Point is used to augment.

Paragon of Perfection - Paragon of Perfection may not be applied to Unskilled Rolls as Unskilled Rolls may never explode. You are perfect, just not that perfect.

Prestigious Line
Status and Wealth purchases are discounted from the whole amount used. E.g. Status 4 would cost 6+6+6-2 = 16 xp. Wealth 5 would cost 5-2 = 3 xp. This worked differently in the previous two games and is now adjusted so that Wealth and Status are treated the same way. Characters who purchased this Advantage before this game get to keep the 'extra' discount they have.

Evil Eye - Evil Eye disadvantage cannot be fully hidden with contacts perfectly. Anyone observing the character will realize that there is something wrong with their eyes.

Horsemanship - Most alien beasts, if domesticated, can be ridden with Horsemanship skill.

Craft: Explosives - This is no longer a low skill.

Fires of Purity
Neither the target nor anything he carries takes damage from the spell, but anyone who comes into contact with him or strikes him with a melee attack takes 2k2 Wounds. Missed melee attacks do not trigger Fires of Purity.

Strength in Terror
You can only add the difference between your Honor and that of your opponent to the total of attack rolls made when your opponent is capable of convincingly harming you. Wild bests and spirits count. Targets on a shooting range and beer cans don't.

Purity in Purpose and Deed
See above

Shooting while engaged
Firing a weapon while an enemy is at the melee range with the attacker will incur a penalty of -10 to the total of the attack roll.

Shugenja and Multiple Schools
When a shugenja takes Multiple Schools and gains a new rank in a Shugenja School, this is what happens:

Their Shugenja School rank increases by 1 (not resets). A Shugenja does not have a separate school rank for each school she has attended.
They gain the technique of her new school.
They gain the affinity and deficiency of the new school (affinities and deficiencies stack).
They gain 3 new spells.

Shugenja taking Multiple Schools and taking a Courtier, Ninja or Artisan school gains no spells.

Way of the Land
This Advantage cannot be used to locate illegal resources such as smugglers, drugs or other contraband.

Black Sheep
Black Sheep is often and mostly public knowledge in a character's Clan, as a result this should be present in signatures. Player Characters are allowed to form their own opinions and act accordingly, of course, this does force anyone to act in a certain way. Non-player characters may be less kind.

Miya Herald School
The starting school Horsemanship skill may be swapped for Driving skill as the Imperial family begrudgingly trudges forward into the modern era. However, switching Driving to Horsemanship also invalidates the Miya Herald from keeping the ceremonial horse in their starting kit.

A painful Imperial bureaucracy error plaguing the Miya Heralds for decades has been rectified. They now have a Travelling Pack (with the item choices) in their starting kit.

Peasants and Weapons

Very good question. I have cross-referenced with the equipment types and sheets and noticed a bit of an issue here.

To answer the first question, peasants can carry anything that doesn't have the samurai keyword on it. Even though, without the samurai keyword might get some eyebrows. Peasant type is highly preferred.

Now, the issue with range weapons, many are actually samurai-type and it is also the future. As a result, any servant and heimen must default to using Ashigaru-grade weaponry. Armed bodyguard servants in most cases. Ashigaru-grade weaponry is more or less -1k0 from the damage dice.
