[Day 7 - Mid Evening] I Want To Play A Game... (Closed)

[Boogiepop]

The sunset descended on Shiawase Island, to what seemed like a perfect day on the island, one with only a small threat of cloud cover but otherwise sunny for a day of amusements. However, not everyone's evening would end on an ideal note. What transpired seemed like a dream...

Or perhaps nightmare would be more fitting?

Perhaps it began as an evening of minding their own business at their shop. A clatter of metal outside would curiously bring them outside. Maybe it was rambunctious children, exercising their early delinquent tendencies. Or maybe it was just a wild jimen tori that ventured into the city, looking to build a nest. Distracted, they would be greeted with a sharp blow to the back of their head with a force that might have crushed skulls if it wasn't for the fact that it was a mere leather sap.

For another, perhaps they had their servant walking their companion in the residential streets for one last time at night. The dog had gone missing, with the servant suffering from a blood wound. There was a bark that alerted her to the park at one of the heimen neighbourhoods. The pom would be found by a street lamp, barking constantly. However, this was a warning, and she would be snatched from the streets and into a vehicle.

The ground was cold and particularly wet. They would awake on the solid floor, a concrete surface that was chipped and cracked in many places. There was only a low red light shining in what seemed like a cramped room. There were three figures in the room, standing completely still; they were without features and unmoving. Two stood closely by while the third merely faced the wall with its back turned.

[Tamori Kanna]

As Kanna was coming to, her first thoughts went to Kaida, and Igoro! Were they ok?

The concrete floor was uncomfortable, and she shifted to get a look of her surroundings. She wasn't alone, it seemed... not counting the mysterious three figures. "Hey... what's going on...?"

[Hiruma Akiro]

While not bound as thoroughly as Kanna, only some simple ties, a Crab officer lay nearby, barely stirring.

[Kaiu Nagisa]

Her head hurt worse than a hangover. Stirring, Nagisa can’t help but let out a pained groan. Concrete floor? Did she have an accident in her shop? No, she could hear a familiar voice… And make out others in the room. “Where… Are we?”

[Yasuki Kaito]

The figures just stood, unmoving. Not responding.

"Arrgggh!" There was a loud gasp as another person made themselves heard and obvious on the ground, snapping awake after suffering from what seemed to be the worst roller coaster he had ever been on.

"Shit! FUCK!" Kaito called out in protest as he tried to sit up, but his body ached and he belatedly suffered from the effects of his ride to Jigoku.

Or did it just begin?

He shuffled back and found himself unable to go further as he tried to back himself toward the wall. "Wha...what the fuck?!" When he heard the sound of metal clattering. Then, he felt a heavy weight on his chest about the size of a textbook, shackled to his neck with a length of chain that prevented him from moving too far.

Everyone else was bound the same way.

[Kaiu Nagisa]

Finally conscious enough to feel the tight feeling of something pressing against her chest, Nagisa tries to pull at it only to realize she has been bound.

Huh? This was definitely not something she remotely expected. “What the…? What is this?”

[Tamori Kanna]

Kanna looked around as she too became more aware. Nagisa and the Yasuki she had only seen at a distance before were talking, so that meant they were conscious, so she was at once more worried for what seemed like the Hiruma they met on mount Nakahama.

"Hey, Hiruma-san? Are you alright?`" she asked, still a bit foggy-minded, as she too realised she was bound. That meant whoever was responsible probably had taken her bag with the holoslates too.

Their belongings were very much taken away. They were shackled by the neck, save for Hiruma Akiro, but they had limited mobility in their hands.

A light suddenly lit up the room, casting almost a blinding light that forced the occupants in the room to take a moment to adjust from the previously dim blood-red lighting. While the light would answer some questions, there would be even more questions waiting for them.

First, the still and standing figures in the room would prove to be immobile mannequins, perhaps not too different than the ones that were typically used on the window display at the Koi store. The two figures standing in the centre of the room with them would have the names 'Yasuki Umiko' and 'Yasuki Ayame' written on them in permanent marker.

Kanna, Nagisa, and Kaito were all chained by the neck with a metal contraption that seemed like a combination of switches and nobs, like a sort of overly complicated make-shift combination lock that had been bashed together to form a puzzle. What was more distressing was that all of their chains met in the middle to something that looked like a large gruesome centrepiece made up of various blades and sharp objects that included machetes, knives, hooks, and cleavers.

The room seemed to be entirely concrete and a singular bay door made of metal shutters, unfortunately, unreachable with the limited slack of the chains that bound them by the next.

Zzzz-frrrrp!

The speakers above them creaked initially as the transmission seemed stressed with use. "I have brought you all here today for judgment. You've discarded your ancestor's purposes as a proper samurai, especially the Crab. You live a life of heresy, pathetic melancholy, self-righteousness, hedonism, corruption, cowardly showmanship, and absolute weakness. You are all unworthy of life. However...I am giving you another chance. A chance to make you worthy of your miserable lives. Let the trials begin!"

With that, the centrepiece whirled to life, spinning at a rapid rotation much like a drill or a saw. The chains by their neck were suddenly pulled by the centrepiece, dragging them to the middle of it to be cut!

Scenario 1: The Saw Trap
Each players of the game have three turns to either free themselves or others if they manage to get out! This can be done by making a skill check using either Engineering/Intelligence or Sleight of Hand/Agility at Cumulative TN 35, each costing an action.

If this is not done within everyone's (Kaito, Kanna and Nagisa) three allocated actions, each trapped player will start taking 4k2 Damage.

[Tamori Kanna]

Kanna was in panic mode, and couldn't figure out how to get free! How could she save anyone? How had she failed her ancestors?!

Okay, Nagisa is both confused and terrified at this turn of events. But that does not stop her from assessing the chains on her. By the looks of them, they actually have gashes. Well, it makes sense if it’s a game that these people expected anyone to actually be able to win, so to speak.

Rubbing together the chain links with the imperfections, Nagisa is able to wear them down enough to weaken them to the point she can yank and break away. Well, in theory. She has it almost to that point!

It only took a few more well-timed and well-placed tugs before Nagisa had freed herself.

But now was the hard part… She had a decision to make. Who does she help? Kanna? Or Kaito?

Now free, it was her time to decide. Kanna… Or Kaito?
She didn’t have enough time to think about it…



Kanna! She needed more help! Plus, Kaito was almost out, Kanna get probably help him once she’s loose enough!

Nagisa ignores Kaito and rushes to Kanna’s side, yanking away the bindings so she can pull at the weak points. It was surprisingly fast, but she did have two hands to work with now.

Kanna gasped as Nagisa freed her, but there was no time to thank her or anything, all she could do was hurry to help the captured Yasuki.

Freed from the saw-trap, she was able to assist Kaito to achieve freedom too! It just needed a little bit more push...

[Yasuki Kaito]

"HEY! WAIT! WAIT!" Kaito found himself crying out when he saw Nagisa rush over and help the Dragon, instead of him.

He found himself panicking as his distance from the blades got closer, as it almost felt like he was going to be left to die. Fear took hold of him as the machinery dragged him forward. Even dropping down the floor and trying to become dead weight didn't seem to do anything, the rough concrete providing little real grip on his back as he slowly inched forward and there was nowhere to put his feet anymore for extra resistance!

"Fuck! Fuck! I'm going to die!" He cried out when Kanna leaped forward after she was free to help him out. The mechanism was undone to the point that it was probably the hook of the latch that was keeping him bound. He quickly flailed about and undid it.

Vrrp!!!

The shackle around his neck came loose, and he nearly got sucked toward the machinery just as the blades began spinning fast. If it weren't for that escape, any of them might have met with a faceful of blades right about now.

Kaito staggered back to give himself some distance from his brush with death, heaving for a breath and doing everything in his power to keep himself from going into the fetal position...

"Oh kami!" Kanna explained, feeling the immediate panic leave her after they removed the last contraption in the nick of time. That was going to be a close shave!

She wanted to freak out, but she needed to find Kaida and Igoro! But... first things first was to get out of here.

So she fell back on her basic training with the Tamori - as a medic. Before they realised she'd be useless in the field. Glancing around, she could see Nagisa was seemingly unharmed, as was Kaito. So it was the seemingly unconscious Hiruma.

He didn't look great. He was breathing, but his face was a bit too pale; likely blood loss, although there weren't any obvious pools of blood around him.

He woke with a start, his neck jerking upwards. For an instant, a flash of fear was visible on his handsome features before he got it back under control.

"T... Tamori-san." His eyelids fluttered, and he coughed. "He got you? Damn..." He closed his eyes, gritting his teeth tightly together.

[Yasuki Kaito]

The infernal contraption would continue to spin the room, showing no signs of stopping. It perhaps acted as a constant reminder of the threat of death.

After a moment of gasping and internal 'why me', Kaito would get himself to his feet. He would take into account the situation in the room before his eyes landed on the other Crab in the room. Feeling suddenly emboldened and angered, he would walk over to him to demand answers.

"Why wasn't this guy chained up!? This MUST be the fucker who did this!" He glared at Akiro. "Is that right? You like to watch, huh?! You pervert! We should all kick his ass, right now! That'll get us out of here!"
