Maybe I got some Unlucky triggers for you later!Tamori Kanna wrote: Sat Nov 22, 2025 11:48 am Any Unlucky trigger in Tsuneo's Shiro?
EDIT: Only failures anyway, so no worries. xD
Riding the 'onikage' is done using either Horsemanship/Agility or Jiujitsu/Strength at TN 5 to maintain their hold during the straight forward ride. On success, the obstacle is completed in 9 Time Units. On failure, the athlete is dropped into green slimy waters and eliminated. The athlete may choose to rile up the onikage by calling a Raise, which will add a total of +10 towards the TN for each Raise (instead of the usual +5) from both the difficulty and the angered infernal creature as it tries to toss the rider off. This reduces the ride by 2 Time Units per Called Raise to a minimum of 1 Time Unit.
At the very least, the purposes of this event, it can be rolled unskilled.Kakita Haruhi wrote: Sat Nov 22, 2025 1:55 pm For the oni puzzle, can lore:shadowlands be rolled unskilled? I.e., no explosions intelligence roll?
Or is that one of those skills that can't be rolled unskilled?

Yes, it does add time. You can go for a risky, quick beheading or merely bop it three times! The athlete will be given three strikes at the zombie, using either Heavy Weapons/Agility or Katana/Agility, each strike adding 1 Time Unit to their total.
Is it 3 raises in total, or 3 raises on one attack (as per the Called Shot: Head rules in the Core Rulebook)?Boogiepop wrote: Sat Nov 22, 2025 10:20 am Obstacle 2: Zombie Smash
Through the gates, the athlete will be confronted by a monstrous zombie creature! The zombie is represented by a volunteer wearing a comically large foam suit with a detachable head. The athlete will be given either a foam tetsubo or a foam katana, which they must utilize to vanquish the zombie before they can proceed. If they are unable to vanquish the zombie in three tries, they will be tackled and devoured!
The athlete will be given three strikes at the zombie, using either Heavy Weapons/Agility or Katana/Agility, each strike adding 1 Time Unit to their total. The zombie's TN to Hit is 10. If the zombie is struck 3 times or a total of 3 Called Raises are accumulated in total to behead the zombie, then the obstacle is considered passed. The athlete is considered first in Initiative and against a human opponent of lesser Honour.
If the athlete is unable to strike the zombie 3 times or unable to collect a total of 3 Called Raises by 3 strikes, they are eliminated from the competition!
3 raises in total, unlike the book. It's like you're chopping away at It's neck.Tamori Kanna wrote: Sat Nov 22, 2025 8:59 pm Further question on the Zombie-part of Tsuneo's Shiro. Or rather, more asking for clarification.

I'll allow it.Utaku Itsuka wrote: Mon Nov 24, 2025 12:41 am Had completely forgotten about adding my Rank 1 technique to the attacks against the zombies here. With that, my first otherwise failed attempt is a success.
I've edited the post to change that, which ultimately reduces my time by 1 Unit. I hope that's fine? The roll is otherwise unchanged!

(Still not enough to win, but may make a difference in placing)
Just out of curiosity, as a general rule here, does calling raises when the GMs don't present an explicit consequence for it generate any effect besides flexing a build?Boogiepop wrote: Mon Nov 24, 2025 11:22 am ***
To get the scene rolling, investigators, please make your search rolls.
Late response but it's admitted moot now, you've found them with Ochiba's roll!Kitsuki Ichitaiyo wrote: Mon Nov 24, 2025 11:53 amJust out of curiosity, as a general rule here, does calling raises when the GMs don't present an explicit consequence for it generate any effect besides flexing a build?Boogiepop wrote: Mon Nov 24, 2025 11:22 am ***
