[D6, MA] Crabs of a Similar Nature

[Yasuki Honoka]

Honoka had recently been reconnecting very strongly with Umiko, and it brought such delight to her days that she finally realized how long it's been since she'd properly spent any good quality time with Nagisa as well. With some gusto she intended on rectifying this mistake and invited her to the spa, sending with the invitation a full day pass so that Nagisa would not have to worry for the expense. Honoka avoided speaking of it, because it felt polite, but she was deeply aware of the imbalance of resources between the two and enjoyed the opportunity to give Nagisa a chance to experience the benefits of a considerably healthy resource pool.

Waiting for Nagisa to arrive Honoka was in the lobby busy arranging the afternoon event with the staff. Nearby her yojimbo sat reading a magazine.

Having been meaning to try and reach out to Honoka herself, Nagisa was more than a little willing to take the day off. She enters the lobby, taking a second look around before spotting the Yasuki (and her yojimbo). Approaching them, she offers each of them a bow.

“Sorry if I kept you waiting! And… Thanks for inviting me out. I have been meaning to check on you. Especially since Crabkaku opened up finally!” This has to be the most animated Honoka has seen Nagisa.

"Not at all! I was just finishing getting everything ordered for our afternoon," she smiles happily and bows in turn to Nagisa. Placing a dataslate that had been in her hand down on the countertop beside her. Quickly it was ferried away by the receptionist for the spa.

"I.." she looks around the room, to ensure no one is in close proximity. "I shouldn't ask but.. are you as happy to see me as I am to see you, or do you have good news to share?"

Also looking around for much the same reason, Nagisa turns her attention back to her Yasuki companion and her smile widens. “I missed you, of course. My life has been just more of the same, aside from the influx of customers. So it’s just me missing you.”

Another look around the area, but this time with a hint of curiosity over caution. “Huh. This is my first time at a spa.”

"Oh my," Honoka says with a look of astonishment. Wracking her brain for a moment she really thought hard to make sure she wasn't forgetting anything but nope, she hasn't. "Nagisa-san I should have been certain to bring you here more often then! With all the work you do you must be sure to treat your body well. And since I come here often enough to maintain myself, I simply should just bring you along more often," she says with conviction.

That made sense to Nagisa. Honoka did have the resources to come to a nice place like this often. “Oh, well you don’t have to do that. But I appreciate the chance now to at least try it out! I kind of have a knot between my shoulder blades that have been bothering me since the day before yesterday.”

"I am certain they will be able to help you with that!" she says happily. Looking over to Hiroto she gives him the acknowledgement in their glance that she will be continuing forward. Waving at her side toward herself indicating Nagisa to follow.

"Come with me then, let's get to our first stop. But while we walk, perhaps you could tell me about how you have been doing? I know you have been working but has there been anything new you find appealing to have happened recently?"

“Ah! Yes.” Nagisa follows Honoka, keeping close to her as she rubs at the back of her neck. “I was actually invited to the beach by a very friendly customer of mine from the Dragon. She invited me as well as some others so I got to meet as well.”

At least Nagisa was not just cooped up in her shop working. “I can’t say no to a cute dog, either. I assume you have gotten to meet a variety of people at your new place, yeah?”

"Oh! Tamori Kanna? With the adorable little Kaida?" she asks excitedly. Smiling as she continues, "I met them recently myself when she stopped by Crabkaku. Wishing to make a stop at all local business owners I think," she muses and then looks to Nagisa. "Which I suppose makes such sense how we have both met her then!"

"I've also gone with her, and some others, recently to go under the water with the aid of the kami. It was such a surprising experience."

“Yeah! I don’t know a whole lot of Shugenja so having a blessing like that used on me was interesting.” She nods at the shared but separate experience the two had. “Ah! Who else went on your little outing? Anyone interesting to you? Kaiu Ryosei was in my group outing, so it was nice to see a familiar face.”

"I wasn't very familiar with everyone at first. Just Tamori Kanna, and Agasha Sorato, who were both excellent workers of prayer. The one cast on me was done by Agasha Sorato, and he is a very intelligent and kindly man," she says with a smile. Thinking back on the experience she had with both Sorato and Kanna being there the whole way to support her as she delved into the experience.

"You might be surprised by this, but interacting so closely with a shugenja is a rather new experience for me as well. They are not common in my place of work. I suppose one of my father's allies may be one, if I think of it, but I rarely if ever speak to those individuals directly."

There’s a strange sense of relief that their lack of experience working with Shugenja is a shared one. “Interesting! I’ll keep that in mind if I come across this Agatha Sorato. He sounds like excellent company.”

There’s a bit of a pause as Nagisa looks around curiously before turning her full attention back to her companion. “Oh! I wanted to ask you about the appliances you have at Crabkaku. Whenever you have the chance, you should get me make and model numbers so I can look ‘em up in case something needs a quick repair. I know they’re likely new, but I kind of want to help out friends.”

"Oh! You're right, I hadn't considered that. I am certain I will need repairs eventually, and to make use of a friends services rather than a stranger well.. to know I can entrust such devices to you is a relief," she says. Pulling up from a satchel at her side she retrieves a dataslate and makes a few quick notes upon it, namely to remember to get that information prepared for Nagisa later.

Honoka would lead them into the changing rooms. Among them some steam and rain bath options, but first of course they would need to change from their outerwear.

"How did you find the experience being underwater, by the way? I've never dove in the water for that long before, and being able to see the marine life so close was... exhilarating. I would have gotten into so much trouble as a child if I'd had the opportunity," she adds with a chuckle.

“I thought it might make the issue when it comes up be a lot less stressful for you knowing someone that could handle it was close at hand.” She smiles softly before realizing that they entered a changing room.

That’s a minefield that she didn’t think about before. Is it like a public bathing area? How do spas even work? Her mind races a little before she is able to stop herself from spiraling into panic mode.

Clearing her throat and desperately trying to distract herself from any potential future embarrassment, she nervously chuckles. “To be honest, I was a little nervous at first but I was with a group.”

Honoka would lead Nagisa over to the changing area, just near the showers. Giving subtle directions with looks and waves of her hand. This area was designed for comfort, and although public nudity in bathing areas was likely still the norm there was the development of comfort over time if one wanted to be more reserved and thus there were private changing areas provided. Where one could change, get into a towel for their shower, and then get into a proper robe just after.

Before they would part ways to perform all these necessary cleaning tasks she would say, "Yes! It was quite nerve inducing. I needed the reinforcement to get into the water myself. Breathing in water... I felt like I was about to drown," with a little shiver she recomposes herself. Directing, "I've organized for us, given time and our schedules, a massage. Now, not everyone necessarily showers before such a thing but I will not have someone touch me without cleaning properly so.. well, you also can just put on a robe and wear that the whole time. They won't make direct contact if you don't wish them to. I wasn't sure of your comfort so they are primed for whichever you choose."
