[Day 6, Late Afternoon, Closed] Star Crab the Crab Star

[Yasuki Honoka]

Crabkaku was not a business that was booked months, weeks, or even days in advance. Especially as they were just recently open and Honoka desired to make sure everyone got as much information about crabs as they could manage! Thus, today was a special occasion. After all, today was the day she expected to have the rare chance to work alongside Umiko and while it was good enough to just get to see her it would be extra nice to share this other new experience with her! Of course there were all the other parts she could be excited about; her first commercial as a business owner, her first commercial ever (although that one was a bit scary), and she would be showing Crabkaku to a much wider audience!

All of that would of course come in time as she awaited in Crabkaku with all of her staff and the restaurant declared as having a reservation for every seat in the house. She was sure to be here a very early to make sure she left enough time for her to be ahead of Kaito who would arrive early as well.

While she waited, Honoka was staring into the most central aquarium watching the crabs mind about whatever aquarium crabs minded about.

[Bayushi Kazushi]

Kazushi had been intrigued by the Crabkaku spotlight that had been mentioned the previous day, and arrives early to make sure there's a spot for him and his crew. For now, he was satisfied to serve merely as an observer, although he was quite ready to offer a few pointers if anyone wanted to spice up their look for the holo-feed.

[Miya Kisha]

Kisha is not far behind, attending with only her holorecorder in tow. It pans the room, taking footage, and she will sketch a bow to Kazushi.

"It's always a pleasure to see you, Bayushi-san," she will say. "And I must say I was impressed by your kitchen-work today! It looked lovely, and I wish I could have had some!"

[Bayushi Kazushi]

"I'd offer to prepare the full kaiseki ryori, but I doubt I'll have access to that kind of kitchen quality or staff again," he replies. "I'm honestly surprised at how good it turned out, myself - I was afraid the greatshark and local produce would work against the extremely rigid style of the kaiseki, but they fit in as if they were meant to be part of it."

[Miya Kisha]

"It certainly worked better than the, er, deepfish," Kisha concedes, nodding. "Honestly, that that came off at all, given how it looked on the docks yesterday..."

She trails off and shudders slightly.

"I think I'll be steering clear of that kind of thing for a good long while."

[Yasuki Kaito]

While it was good form to be earlier than on time for a meeting, especially a formal and organized occasion like this one, Kaito arrived a little later than his guests. With a camera crew from Silver Fin Production following him, he would see both Kisha and Kazushi at the entrance already. For this occasion, he was dressed rather flashy happi-like coat with his usual robe-shirt and casual slacks. Just because he wasn't going to be on camera, didn't mean he couldn't draw attention, right?

"Hey, hello! Good afternoon, Bayushi-sama and Miya-san!" He called to them before dipping into a bow to greet them both.

"Sorry about the tardiness, traffic has been pretty crazy with all of the flooding around the city. But I'm finally here. I got my crew here for a short bit but just enough time to get something done for 'Sunset Hour'. If we're lucky, they'll crack-edit this and whip it up back next hour. Kind of stuck my neck out here to promise them the goods!" He snickered on that note.

He pointed forward, motioning them to get into the restaurant. "We can just get into it. Umiko-chan is bound to join us soon, and I'm almost sure that Ayame-chan is not too far behind, but you know, governor's hours and all that! Can't control where she goes!"

He lifted his chin too, as if to stand taller to get a better look at the restaurant, "Oh wow, I guess they really reserved this whole place for us, Yasuki-san really went all out, eh?"

[Miya Kisha]

"It does look that way," Kisha says, nodding. "And you're looking quite fetching, Yasuki-san. It suits you."

[Yasuki Honoka]

Having been notified of the guests arrival, and those she would be working with today, Honoka took one last look deep into the aquarium. Within there was a small Opal Darter swimming through the water by kicking its legs in a coordinated maneuver. Well, it wasn't quite swimming perhaps... It looked more like jumping but without need of a floor to be beneath you? There was something fascinating in watching how effectively this little crab could move through the water.

With a wistful sigh Honoka would take her head out of the palm of her hand and rise to her feet. Placing her public persona back on in her reflection in the water. Nodding with a gust of self confidence gathering she would approach the door.

"Good afternoon everyone!" she says warmly, and with the added reverence to their personages. Bowing deeply as her assorted guests were all samurai of import.

"It does look that way," Kisha says, nodding. "And you're looking quite fetching, Yasuki-san. It suits you."

"Thanks, Miya-san," he said with a daring wink. "Dressed to impress, otherwise, what are we even doing out, right? Looking great as always, both of you."

"Good afternoon, Yasuki-san!" Kaito would greet her with some great enthusiasm, giving a deeper-than-necessary bow. "Everyone, this is Yasuki Honoka-san. She generously, especially on short notice, is allowing us to shoot a sort of interview slash sample segment here with the honoured governor and her karo. Let's give her thanks for the hospitality."

Kaito would introduce Honoka and have his crew bow to her for the reasons given by him.

"Yasuki-san, let me catch you up with some friends of mine. This is Miya Kisha-san," he said with a gesture to the Miya. "She's been lighting up the local broadcasts, local Imperial broadcasts on fire with Kisha's Comments. Great work, again I'm a big fan. We're really lucky to have her today."

He would gesture to the Scorpion. "Bayushi Kazushi-sama, here. He's part of the Orchid Department design and marketing executive. Happy to have him with us. Please consider these guests as part of my crew and the very small, very intimate, studio audience. But if someone wants to volunteer, maybe they could find themselves dining alongside the governor and karo."

He looked to Kazushi and Kisha with a broad smile to get some feelers. "Eh? Eh? I'll let you both figure that out."

"Anyway," he said, turning to face Honoka after his spiel and introductions. "So I figure we can start with you. This is your moment to shine. We want you to give maybe a one-minute or less bit about your restaurant. Feel free to add a bit about your history on the island, what you offer, what you're hoping for, maybe even throw in something about your history with Umiko-chan. We can get to that once you're ready."

With a snap of his fingers, he pointed to one of the crew with the holorecorder to get ready.

[Bayushi Kazushi]

"We've met, thanks," Kazushi says with a smile to Honoka. "Just consider me part of the scenery, though - I'd not want to interfere with such a well-organized production."

[Yasuki Honoka]

"Oh yes! I have already met Bayushi-san and Miya-san, they are quite welcome back," she looks to Kazushi, "and for the first time," then Kisha.

"I am confident this will go well," she says rather confidently for a woman who was so nervous she had to mindfully still her hands. Speaking in front of large groups was terrifying, and doubly so when it was going to be recorded. But Umiko would be here, surely, and that would make some measure of difference. Honoka braces herself and gestures for everyone to enter.

"Shall we go inside then? I have a space picked out right in front of the main aquarium where we can see some of the rarer crab species we have on display."

[Miya Kisha]

Kisha nods, letting the fact that she's eaten at the restaurant slide by.

"It's a pleasure to be here, of course," she says, "and it would be a joy to see the display."

The recording drone quietly trails behind.

[Yasuki Kaito]

"Well, I suppose all the better that we have some returning fans of the restaurant with us! Still, it might have helped to know that you were not only familiar but also with the proprietress." Kaito looked mildly embarrassed for a moment.

"Anyway," he said, ready to move on. "Please, Yasuki-san, show us inside. If you don't mind, I'd like to get my crew set up as soon as possible. Also, maybe consider a good spot where it'll be good to do your interview, so we can get the ball rolling on that?"

[Yasuki Umiko]

Before they could get inside to get set up, there was the clack of heels on the concrete around the corner before Umiko appeared, dressed in a wool blue cardigan-like top and patterned skirt. Needless to say, her temperator was doing heavy lifting here with the abundant humid weather oppressing much of the outdoors at the moment.

"Good afternoon, everyone. Sorry for the lateness!" Umiko would greet them with an apologetic bow. "Thank you for helping out Kaito-kun, Honoka-chan! And thank you for having us!"

[Miya Kisha]

Kisha will immediately turn and bow.

But as she has not yet been introduced, she will also hold her peace for the moment.

[Yasuki Umiko]

Umiko was present at the party and the gifting ceremony. Admittedly, many gifts weren't addressed to her specifically, so she supposed some introductions were still in order. She would reach into her purse and present her card after she had a moment to collect herself after her hurried words. "My apologies! I am Yasuki Umiko, karo to the governor."

[Yasuki Honoka]

"Pay it no mind, Yasuki Kaito-san," she says politely, "your introduction was pleasant to hear and well executed," she affirms with a smile. Then, as her eyes catch the arrival of Umiko the shift in her smile from something wholly polite into something far more genuine. Like a kid excited for her turn in line she awaited her proper arrival, giving Umiko a bow in her turn.

"I'm so glad you were able to join us, Umiko-chan!" she says, doing her best to contain from view a bit of her happiness and relief at having a source of comfort present.

[Yasuki Umiko]

"Thank you for having me, Honaka-chan," she said in return with a warm smile. "When I heard from Kaito-kun that he wanted to shoot a spotlight on your restaurant, I couldn't say no. If anything I kind of wanted to drop by on my own first."

She took a moment to recall that night that Honokoa called her in the middle of the night and how she should drop by to visit her Crabkaku once more. Having so many cameras and people here wasn't exactly what she had in mind herself but she supposed it was the next best thing.

She frowned for a moment as she pulled up her communicator to look at her schedule, rather sure that this day was also on Ayame's shared calendar. That said, just because it was on there, didn't mean she had to adhere to it...

She looked around and to Honoka. "So, what are we having today? I heard from Kaito-kun said you prepared a line up to be sampled?"

[Yasuki Kaito]

Kaito looked to Umiko and Honoka, stepping into the conversation. "Actually, I'm kind of hoping that would be a surprise. You know, for the cameras. I don't know myself, to be honest, but I figured when we have the items rolled in, you can put on your most surprised face and go 'OMK, what is this'. I mean, it'll probably work better for Ayame-chan than yourself, of course, of course."

"I was thinking Yasuki-san and I could figure out a good place to shoot an intro for the segment, starting with her. Maybe I could grab her for a sec and you talk to Bayushi-san and Miya-san over there? They are both here to observe as our small and intimate audience, so to speak." He offered as a suggestion to the two other Yasuki, looking at them expectantly to see if they agreed.

[Yasuki Honoka]

Honoka was noticeably quick with her gusto to answer Umiko when she spoke, almost like a kid again. Honestly, someone who could view over the whole experience of Honoka's life might say it was exactly like she was a kid again. Getting excited about new things, and new experiences, well.. it's rare these days. So, when Kaito steps in Honoka has to really pull on the reins to stop herself from actually vocalizing an answer, but every ounce of her body language shows the absolute torrent of info that was about to be unleashe. She'd even partially drawn out a little dataslate with it all prepared off her side like some kinda western cowboy.

"I would be happy to oblige, Yasuki Kaito-san," she says. "Please enjoy the space Umiko-chan, Bayushi-san and Miya-san. The crabs in the aquarium are particularly captivating today I think. You might enjoy watching the Opal Darter over in that main one."

Presenting herself to Kaito, "Shall we then, Yasuki Kaito-san?"
