(D6, MM, Sango Station, Expecting) Nothing suits me like a (swim) suit

[Yasuki Taraka]

Having enjoyed a nice breakfast, Taraka made her way over to Sango Station to make her next meeting of the day. She'd commed over the location to the Unicorn for the meeting spot, now it was just a matter of waiting for her. They'd probably head over to Hiraoyogi first, but who knows how many stores they'd have to hit up to find the right swimsuit for the Unicorn's tastes? Taraka hoped that the more luxurious stores would please the Unicorn because if this could've just been a trip to Koi's, she'd never hear the end of it.

[Shinjo Suh-Hyun]

Pulling up on her little scooter, Suh-hyun spotted the waiting Yasuki and looked for a spot to stow the little vehicle and her helmet. That done, she made her way over.

"Good morning Yasuki-san," She smiled while approaching. The Unicorn was wearing some simple slip on shoes and a modest pair of shorts and top, clearly favoring comfort but more stylish then say what a Hare would wear to relax in.

"Hope you haven't been waiting long."

Pulling up on her little scooter, Suh-hyun spotted the waiting Yasuki and looked for a spot to stow the little vehicle and her helmet. That done, she made her way over.

"Good morning Yasuki-san," She smiled while approaching. The Unicorn was wearing some simple slip on shoes and a modest pair of shorts and top, clearly favoring comfort but more stylish then say what a Hare would wear to relax in.

"Hope you haven't been waiting long."

The line couldn't help but make Taraka smile a bit. You'd almost think the two were out on a date with that line.

"Not at all, Shinjo-san. I just got here myself. I've picked out a few boutiques that might be able to suit your needs and tastes. I thought we might start at Hiraoyogi, and then if we can't find what you want, try Seoyogi. Their designers are both top tier, and as such have had a sort of rivalry going on for quite some time." she explained as the two walked to the first store.

Hirayogi certainly looked modern and chjc on the inside. Large luxurious fitting rooms with multiple mirrors so you could see how you looked at every angle. The outfit on display tends towards the more revealing island standards, not nothing was considered indecent....well as long as you were going swimming and not to dinner at the governor's. There were also racks of swim accessories, as well as helpful staff to help with measurements and suggestions.

"I feel underdressed in here," Suh-Hyun laughed nervously, still her eyes were drawn to the various displays. "I might need to return her sometime for something other than swimwear. Do you shop here often?"

They passed a few cocktail style dresses that brought a small blush and mischievous smile to the Unicorn's lips. "Looks like every occasion is covered here.

As they arrived at the swim wear section, Suh-Hyun blinked, "Some very daring choices here. They really toe the line." Her eyes were drawn to one particular suit. Technically it was one piece, but their wasn't much fabric holding up that technicality. "Hmm, do I go bold or conservative?" She murmured to herself.

[Yasuki Taraka]

"Why not try it on?" Taraka suggested. "I mean, you can't really tell how it'll look on you just hanging on the hanger like that. You've got to see the fit and feel the feel."

[Shinjo Suh-Hyun]

Suh-Hyun looked at the swimsuit in question then the Yasuki. Then back at the swimsuit.

"Oh no no no, I don't have the...build for that one." Her cheeks reddened at the thought.

[Yasuki Taraka]

Taraka grinned mischievously.

"I didn't say you have to buy it Shinjo-san. There's no harm in trying it on and seeing how it looks. Maybe your opinion will change in the dressing room mirror, maybe it won't. But that's the fun of trying on clothes, yes? To see what might be, even if it never is."

[Shinjo Suh-Hyun]

Taraka grinned mischievously.

"I didn't say you have to buy it Shinjo-san. There's no harm in trying it on and seeing how it looks. Maybe your opinion will change in the dressing room mirror, maybe it won't. But that's the fun of trying on clothes, yes? To see what might be, even if it never is."

Suh-Hyun nodded, "Of course...of course..." She eyed the swimsuit again and hesitantly took it. Another sportier two piece also caught her eye and she grabbed that one too. "Maybe one more..." Her eyes danced around the racks, finally settling on another one piece that was a little more modest.

[Yasuki Taraka]

Taraka smiled.

"That's the spirit, Shinjo-san!." she said, she grabbed her only choices. Taraka apparently was not considering a modest look today. No her range went from 'My that is...stimulating' to 'Did someone hang their dental floss out to dry on this hanger?'

She would guide the Shinjo over to the changing booths.

"If you want a second opinion, Shinjo-san, sing out and I will give you my honest opinion." she offered.

[Shinjo Suh-Hyun]

Slipping into the first one of the swimsuits, Suh-Hyun looked at herself in the mirror. "...Shinjo's glorious mane, I look like someone wrapped a pole in torn latex." She muttered. With a sigh, and no small amount of embarrassment, the Unicorn revealed the outfit to the Crab.

"...I'm not too sure about this one." Was an understatement.

[Yasuki Taraka]

Taraka looked the Shinjo over with a critical eye.

"Ah, no Shinjo-san, I think I see the issue. You're thinking in space station terms. You thinking of conserving space, so air can be kept close." she says.

"But things are much different here, Shinjo-san. You need something to please the air kami as they move past you in a tropical wind, something that when the sun shines upon you, you glow." she offered.

She dashed over to one of the other racks and grabbed something.

"Something like this."

[Shinjo Suh-Hyun]

"Hmm," Suh-Hyun eyed the outfit, "I think it's a bit much for me. But let's try it on!"

She accepts the suit and disappears into the changing room, "Do you come to this store often? Seems like they have a pretty good selection for every occasion but on the pricier side."

Looking at herself in the mirror, she had to admit it looked more elegant on her then she expect...but Suh-Hyun was cool, not elegant. Still she opened the changing room. "Well how does it look? I think I look like one of those fish you find in reefs. The striking ones with the bright colors...you know."

[Yasuki Taraka]

"Oh, probably once a season," she admits. "It's always fun to see what the latest styles are each year."

She looked appraisingly at the besuited Shinjo.

"Hm, well maybe but....your clan's primary colors are purple and white, Shinjo-san. You always stand out, but in a good way. And besides, if you're going to swim like a fish, wouldn't you rather be one that stands out, then some sort of dull grey bottom feeder?"

She paused a moment.

"Um....Shinjo-san.....can you even swim?"

[Shinjo Suh-Hyun]

Suh-Hyun laughed a little, "I suppose that is a fair question. But yes, we do have pools on station after all."

She turned this way and that eyeing the way the swimsuit moved, "I don't know, its not that I would mind the attention but it's well I am not sure its really me. I feel like some weirdly tall Doji maiden in this." The Unicorn does a mock 'Doji maiden run' in place. "This long skirt does draw attention to my legs though. Hmm."

"Oh, I hadn't really thought about it but...swimming in the ocean is probably different then the pools I've been in. Even the ones with tidal simulators."

[Yasuki Taraka]

"Ah, it leaves you feeling like a beauty that can be seen across a packed beach? Then we're definitely making headway. Why don't we try on some more in the same vein, maybe something in colors you like more?" she suggested.

She nodded at the difference.

"I do think swimming in the ocean is the more pleasant of the two. The smell of the salt sea has a lot of good memories around it, while the sharp tang on chlorine makes me think of cheap business motels with poor ventilation.

[Shinjo Suh-Hyun]

"You should try the ones on New Hope Castle! The engineers and techs work really hard to keep the water clean without heavy chemical use." Suh-Hyun smiled, of course as a samurai she probably had access to better pools then most dwellers of the Shinjo home station.

"I've been close enough to get that smell," She swished again, "Though I notice its much nicer on the beach side then near the ports. Do your folks work on keeping the beaches clean or is it just naturally that way and the port smells are just everything else?"

Suh-Hyun took one final look and sighed, "I'm just not very elegant I think...could we try sporty?"

[Yasuki Taraka]

"Well for the most part people are pretty respectful of the beaches. They do need some level of maintenance, but when the idea is to be pleasant, the effort is made. The ports are a bit more focused on how quickly and how much fish can be obtained and processed." she admitted.

She considered the request.

"Hmmmm, what about something in between?" she asked going for a different rack. "Someting like this?"

[Shinjo Suh-Hyun]

"Yes! That's closer," Suh-Hyun took it with a bow and disappeared again, "Yeah I figured it was something like that, plus general industrial stuff at a port." She pokes her head out, "Actually partly reminded me of home, well not the fish smell. But the loading and unloading, the string of bars to extract bored sailors' money. Here is much smaller scale of course."

She ducks back in and a few moments later the curtains part again, "I like this one but..." Suh-Hyun's smile takes on a little devilish hint, "I think I would like to show a little midriff. Nothing too daring. But what do you think?"

[Yasuki Taraka]

Taraka looked over at one of the mannequins.




"A little bit of midriff? I think I see something like that. Let me grab it for you, but I agree that number does suit you well." she said, going to fetch the new outfit.

[Shinjo Suh-Hyun]

"Oh that's definitely more what I was thinking," Suh-Hyun takes the new swimsuit and disappears again, "Thanks! I hope I am not boring you. What with you just standing around."

She gets changed and admires herself in the mirror, "Planning on getting anything today?"

Finally she steps out and turns around in place, "What do you think?"
