The most recently released set is the 'Chikushudo House x Fantasy Fight' collab set, an expansion that is based on the popular v-personality collective of 'Chikushudo House'. Based in Scorpion space, 'Chikushudo House' hosts a variety of characters with the likeness of kitsune, usagi, tanuki, and all other animal-based denizens of that realm. The brand has seen a creeping popularity outside of Scorpion space and secured itself with a collab expansion. In this expansion, it increased the power level of animal-based decks, while offering new game mechanics such as 'songs'.
This Final Fight Tournament is held in conjunction with Fan Con as its 'Day 2' event, although the limited amount of space and the popularity of the game have much of the convention clearing out the Hanei Tower so that it can properly facilitate all of its player attendance. Silver Fin Productions has set up crews on site, broadcasting select games from players at the top tables and that has secured some eyes on the network even outside of the Crab Clan.
This event will be closed 24 hours after it goes online to ensure that the Finals can be resolved in a timely manner. Once the thread is closed, Characters that passed the Qualifiers roll are set into brackets that will be seeded with NPCs accordingly.
Players who don't already possess a deck may buy one at 2 zeni to compete. Alternatively, they could buy a 'tournament-winning deck' at 2 bu and receive a +1 to all rolls using Games: Fantasy Fight/Intelligence and all rolls made in this event.
Magic: Magic is not allowed unless the character rolls contested Agility / Stealth (Spellcasting) against the crowds and officials. Emphasis is needed to make the roll, and only those spells that last at least an hour can be employed. Needless to say, getting caught has consequences. Soshi Shugenja school technique can be used to bypass this restriction.
Qualifiers
To qualify for the final brackets of the top tables, each player will have to face a number of opponents in what has been dubbed the 'grinders'. Players will be put in a pool with players of varying skills and will need to win games so that the best players can rise to the top final brackets. The game has grown substantially since its reintroduction, so much so that some Clans have been assigned designated 'Fantasy Fight Champions' to travel from tournament to tournament in Empire space. With continued interest in the games, it's likely the champions will grow in glory, and there might be more stakes to the game than just pride.
Players of the game may choose one of the following opponents as a highlight of the qualifier participation. This player will have their own rules, representing the sort of deck they are playing. If the player can defeat their chosen opponent, they advance to the Finals.
This portion of the event will close sooner to allow for the Finals portion to take place in a timely manner.
Opponent 1

Kuni Sumie
"Ugh, I can't believe Fantasy Fight would sell out to Chikushudo House. This game is absolutely dead and unplayable. Anyway, good luck doing anything in this game."
Playing: Nari-chan Song Control Stacks
Highly Competitive - Kuni Sumie is playing a competitive deck at the top of the metagame, one that has admittedly seen top placement in multiple numbers, but she is only doing so ironically. The deck has proved itself problematic in the game, especially with the 'Nari-chan, enchanting kitsune' card being the lynchpin of a controlling set of songs that could be played almost indefinitely. Due to the contract with 'Chikushudo House', the Fantasy Fight rules committee has its hands tied on banning a card based on the collab partner's most popular v-personality.
To defeat Kuni Sumie, players make a Games: Fantasy Fight (Chikushudo House x Fantasy Fight)/Intelligence against a cumulative TN60 in 3 rolls. A cumulative TN is achieved with the sum of all rolls. However, Sumie's deck is equipped with powerful counters. If when keeping high, any of the rolls (after all bonuses applied) would be either the number 7, 14, 19 or 39, treat the result of that roll as being 0.
Opponent 2

Doji Tomiko
Playing: Rainbow Chikushudo House Pile
"I love all the characters from Chikushudo House! I own every member in their full-art special variants, in Nebula foil!"
Not to be Underestimated - Doji Tamiko is playing a deck made up solely of cards from Chikushudo House with almost every v-personality character. The deck itself isn't competitive but each character played grants a bonus to each character to create an unstoppable force if unchecked!
Players against Doji Tamiko will need to make Games: Fantasy Fight (Chikushudo House x Fantasy Fight)/Intelligence skill checks against a total of TN45 with 3 tries. During each of these 3 rolls, the player may set their own TN but must pass a total of TN45 to defeat Doji Tamiko and pass the qualifiers.
Example: Players may set the first TN of their check to TN10. If they fail this roll, they are still required to pass a total of TN45. They may set their subsequent check to TN20 and TN25 to make up for this, as an example of a strategy moving forward.
Opponent 3

Susumu Jouichirou
Playing: Nyoko-chan Secret Seduction
"I play 'Nyoko-chan Secret Seduction'! This allows me to search my deck for a song card and play it immediately! 'Nyoko-chan's Wares' says then I search for a song card, it deals 5 damage to you! And then you take 5 damage from any asset card, 'Nari-chan's bewilderment' will put three tokens into play, then trigger a special phase called..."
Combo Synergy - Susumu Jouichirou's deck is an elaborate mess of many triggers and cards that play off of each other, creating a complicated engine that will ensure that he wins the game.
Players against Susumu Jouichirou will need to make Games: Fantasy Fight (Chikushudo House x Fantasy Fight)/Intelligence skill checks against TN30 in order to pass the qualifiers. Prior to making this roll, players may make up to two skill rolls using Battle (Mass Combat)/Perception, Investigation (Notice)/Awareness, or Commerce (Mathematics)/Intelligence at TN15 to discern his strategy, manage their resources, and potentially eliminate key pieces from his strategy. On a successful roll, gain one Free Raise on the next Games: Fantasy Fight (Chikushudo House x Fantasy Fight)/Intelligence skill roll against Jouichirou with an additional Free Raise for each successful Called Raise.
Opponent 4

Soshi Katsuro
Playing: Jump Scare Traps
"You fool, you've activated my Jump Scare trap!"
Traps within Traps - Soshi Katsuro's deck is seemingly mundane but contains several secrets that will see play at opportune times and might catch his opponent off guard. Slip up and he might claim a decisive victory!
Players against Soshi Katsuro make a skill check using the Fantasy Fight (Chikushudo House x Fantasy Fight)/Intelligence skill, surpassing TN15 or be eliminated. If the final roll is 19 or less, the player must then pass a roll using either Investigation (Notice)/Awareness or Defence/Intelligence at TN15. They must pass this roll or be eliminated from the Qualifiers. If the final roll is 20 to 24, the player must instead pass a roll using either Investigation (Notice)/Awareness or Defence/Intelligence at TN10 or be eliminated from the Qualifiers. If the roll is 25 or higher, nothing happens, and Soshi Katsuro is defeated.
Finals
Players who passed the Qualifiers roll are qualified to enter the Final bracket after a gruelling set of matches in the 'grinders'. They will now find themselves facing off against other hardened players who have made it this far. This will be played against other Player Character Fantasy Fight players, with some NPCs to fill in odd numbers if appropriate.
Each of the games is played as best of three using opposed Games: Fantasy Fight (Chikushudo House x Fantasy Fight)/Intelligence Rolls. NPCs are considered to be Status 1 Crab samurai for the purposes of Techniques and Advantages. If you are paired with a PC, please PM them to resolve your match. If you are paired with an NPC, please contact a GM to roll for the NPC.
Fantasy Fight Champion
There will be one sole player remaining after the conclusion of the Finals brackets, and they will be crowned the Fantasy Fight Nakahama City Champion! This will award them with a special edition full-art card in Realm foil of 'Nari-chan, Anxious Gamer', which is worth 10 koku in the open market. In addition, the winner will gain 0.7 Glory.
Fantasy Fight Nakahama City Champion's opponent will gain 0.4 Glory for their valiant efforts. They will be awarded with a special edition full-art card in regular foil of 'Nari-chan, Anxious Gamer', which is worth 5 koku in the open market.
