Much further away from the shores is almost seemingly another world, beyond the congested coast of Tenjin Town are where the rural settlements and farmlands are situated. The large expanse of land on this side of Shiawase Island is dedicated to local crops of sugarcane, tea, coffee, rice, and lychee. While the climate and agricultural engineering ensure that production happens all year round, the yields on the island are admittedly moderate. Most of the island's agricultural exports are sent to the other island provinces, and the only occasionally stock reaches the shores of the mainland.
Typically, farms are kept far apart and are connected with a narrow paved road, alternating from modern designs and more basic bamboo structures. There is the occasional intersection where a small commune of homes and stores is located on the main roads. Some heimen homes rely on travelling ramen stalls for a hot meal outside of their kitchens. Some farms might host the occasional tours, but those living in the farmlands are typically insular, paying little mind to any of those who might occasionally find themselves in the quieter part of town.
