Just as the Golden Shotengai ends, "Friendship Street" begins in the Upper City. Named after the major street it is situated on, it is a district of the city most notable for housing those outside of the Crab Clan. The other Clans have their embassies, apartments, and commercial businesses situated on different avenues along the street. Friendship Street is known for some of its older buildings, finding its start as the Yasuki commercial district before the revitalization of the Harbourfront centuries ago encouraged the Yasuki to move their businesses to the modernized Lower City.

The district was ceded by a majority of the Yasuki and established as the home for other Clans and Families with commercial interests on the Green Carp. Many of the old 'shells' have been repurposed by their new inhabitants. The district is nestled closely with the Lower City, standing between the glamour of the Harbourfront and the residential districts. Friendship Street is vibrant and metropolitan, with many businesses outside of the Crab Clan finding their start here before moving to the Lower City once they find success. The intended goal of many businesses here is to fulfill the required revenue to petition for a lease in the Lower City, which has historically been restrictive before Yasuki Ayame's rule.

Location rules: When making a thread in this location, please indicate if the thread takes place in the streets or at one of the sublocations listed below. While Friendship Street is an exception to the 'one thread at one location at a given time slot' rule, the sublocations are not. Thus, when drafting your thread, please check that the sublocation is not booked already.

Iron Tower
The tallest and most intimidating standing structure on the street was meant to be the corporate headquarters for Koi before they moved to the Lower City. Today, it stands as the joint embassy for both the Dragon and Scorpion Clans, with many of the latter having their offices taking up the upper level.

The Seung Exchange
The connected set of drab brown corporate buildings makes up the Seung Exchange, one of the oldest fixtures of the city that now hosts the Phoenix, Unicorn and Lion offices. A hidden-away shopping centre is located underground that caters to the inhabitants during the day hours.

Riku Convention Centre
The Riku Convention Centre is currently home to the Mantis, Crane and Spider. All three wings of the convention centre have been under joint lease by all three clans for the last few years, while construction of their offices continues to be plagued by setbacks.

Nest Avenue
A collection of cramped offices located just above street-level stores that house the multitude of Minor Clan embassies. The walls are particularly thin here, often divided with merely drywall, and a lack of insulation makes the building unbearable at times during hotter days.

Seppun Plaza
The previous Seppun Plaza had been demolished and rebuilt as a sign by the Imperial Family that they had some staked interests in the province's economic future. The Seppun Plaza stands apart from the other congested buildings of the quarter with its impressive architecture, surrounded by garden space with an elaborate fountain leading up to the stout glass building found in the centre.

Restful Inn
Restful Inn is one of the largest business hotel chains on the Green Carp, often catering to low-status samurai and merchants. They are currently the largest hotel on Friendship Street and can handle any occupant overflow from the embassy dorms. There are six floors of uniformed rooms here, each of them containing a single bed with a short desk and a cramped bathroom, perfect for a solo visitor's short stay in Nakahama City. This Restful Inn features a shared bath, like all hotels under its brand, although its small size ensures that it's often occupied to capacity for most hours of the day.

Magistrate's Office
The magistrate's office is one of the Crab fixtures that remain on Friendship Street to this day. The offices are in a stout building and maintain the service of yorikis with a few squadrons of doshin to maintain order throughout the island. The magistrate's central garage, armoury, and jail are found in its cramped interior. Whether the Clan magistrates have found themselves comfortable with the central location in the city or merely wish to maintain watch over the other Clan embassies for security purposes is not something that the office has ever dignified with an answer.
