(Day 2, Late Evening) A Scorpion on the Dragon

[Bayushi Kazushi]

Bayushi Kazushi takes a seat at the bar area, flanked as always by Kurumi and Katsumi. He's drinking his usual G&T and watching the gathered gamblers hoping to hit it big. He, meanwhile, is hoping to catch the owner of the yacht, as Yakura has definitely caught his interest...

Yak7ra was running around, ensurimg everything went smoothly, when uer eyes caught a familiar figure.

A quick whisper to a nearby waiter, and soon a bottle with a Mantos stamp on it was procured.

"Bayusho-sama and friends, so glad you decided to join us?" She eyed what he was drinking, and tsked.

"Really Bayushi-sama? I bet I can offer something better than that."

"Something better, perhaps," Kazushi notes, "but this is my go-to drink. I'm open to suggestions, though."

[Yoritomo Yakura]

Yakura slid a glass of a dark green liquid towards the Scorpion.


"Mantis brew. Give it a try. Feel fre to caugh."

She waved towards his entourage. "And anything the ladies like?"

"I don't drink while I'm on duty," is Kurumi's simple response.



Katsumi isn't so reserved, though. "I'll try one of those green ones, too."

A drink is immediately served to Katsumi, while a sparkly water is presented to Kurumi.

"How are you finding Green Carp so far, Bayushi-sama?"

"I haven't seen enough of it to really render judgement just yet," Kazushi says, "our little adventure this morning not withstanding. It seems to have much to offer, but it's also unlike the places I'm used to, and that makes me hesitant. More good than bad, though, at least so far."

"It's a nice place. Not the most lively, or most beuatiful, but it has a good heart. And good infrastructure." She smiled. "If you are ever in need for a consultation, I'm happy to oblige." She flashed a predatory smirk. "For a fee of course."

A subtle gesture later and a tray of shrimp is also presented to the party. "Something to snack on?" The waiter asked.

Kazushi and crew graciously accept the offered food.

"Infrastructure," he says, "is precisely what we're looking for. A world that's not tamed is hardly in need of the Department's touch, after all. On the whole, Green Carp seems to be close to ready for our presence and style."

"You certainly have style." She winked at him in good humor. "What are yoi thinking of, if this lowly Mantos can ask?"

"I'm thinking...," Kazushi begins, then pauses. He'd been thinking about quite a lot, recently, in fact. This assignment was proving to be rather more complex than he'd expected. His horizons were being broadened, which he was fine with, but at a pace he isn't used to.

"I'm thinking that I'm learning a lot from this little adventure," he says at last, "and that there may be more to life than the next style, project, and set of reports. Before this, I'd never left Rokugan, you know..."

Yakura's face turned serious. "Oh? That sounds like some deeper thoughts. Never left the old planet eh? I've never been there. Born on a space station you know." She gestured towards her earrings, which were shaped like...dice?

"Daikoku's Dice, born and raised. This is the most time I've spent on an actual planet. You never were in space then, before this trip?"

"Very briefly," he replies, shaking his head. "Only as far as Tetsugasa - it may be a security station, but there are a good number of Seppun stationed there who still enjoy the finer things in life."

Yakura nodded. "And how did you find the trip here? Mine was a bit longer, coming around from Daikoku's Dice through New Kalani." She stirred her drink in her hand. "Probably should visit home, when the situation allows it. Currently...not that much. Planning on staying long, or just for the shebang?"

"Just for the governor's gathering," Kazushi replies. "I've got a wife and four-month-old to get back to, so no long business trips for me."
