[Day 2 - Early Afternoon] My First Market (RP Thread)

[Yasuki Umiko]

(This is the role-playing thread for the event. Even if a character uses a time slot to participate in the rolling Event, they may still participate in the associated RP thread.)

Thankful that the rain never came, the annual and local tradition of the First Market was underway! Umiko didn't have a table of her own but instead was present to supervise effects and mediate any potential issues. For this event, she was dressed in a kimono and a coat with stripe designs that were popular somewhere in the gaijin-influenced era of Rokugan. Perhaps for added effect, she also had glasses from the era and an abacus-looking case for her densai.



Koi-kun, a koi mascot for the event, was 'swimming' about, doing his duty to provide some cheer to the children.

[Kitsune Kiyoshi]

"Good afternoon, Yasuki-sama. I was told you were looking for volunteers?" Kiyoshi and the Detective bowed as they approached.

[Miya Kisha]

Kisha, having read all about it early on, did not hesitate to wade in and help out.

Friendly Miya are going to friendly, after all.

After bowing to the charming young Yasuki who has managed already to sell off his stock, Kisha takes a more leisurely stroll around the market, herself, seeing what, if anything, she'd like to snag...other than the footage from her holodrone, which hovers, recording.

[Susumu Sumiko]

Sumiko one of her pretty kimonos, had seen Ryoo off back to the sensei with his well earned sales and now moved to wander around the market herself. Sipping on a drink as she did so.

MIYA-SAMA! MIYA-SAMA! Come see the deals as pretty as you are! hollered Yasuki Jo with that sort of full-throated noise you found in eight year olds.


"Not bad, Yasuki-sama, but attractive, not pretty." she coached.

"This is Green Action Man!" Jo says, holding up an action figure of a Crab warrior in green armor.

"And this is Action Green Man!" holding up a very similar, but slightly different action figure of a Crab warrior in green armor.

"Guess which is stronger!"

She crouches down a bit to look at Jo's offerings.

"I hear that green is the best," she says. "So I suppose the one that's greener is the better one?"

Jo activated Action Green Man's realistic kung fun action to chop Green Action Man right in the face.

"See! Green Action Man didn't even flinch from that!"

"He's a brave Crab, then," she says, and she glances up at Taraka. "And you've got some good backing for yourself to make sure he's got a good assignment, too."

She stands, gives a bow. "Miya Kisha," she offers by way of greeting. "Medialite and appreciative guest of Tango Province."

"Good afternoon, Yasuki-sama. I was told you were looking for volunteers?" Kiyoshi and the Detective bowed as they approached.

Umiko was greeting and acknowledging a few of the locals and their charge, welcoming them to the event and thanking them for participating. When she was done, she would turn her attention to the Kitsune, who had a questionably furry child. There was a clear look of bemusement through her spectacles before it dawned on her.

"Oooh! Souta and the Detective! I mean, Kitsune-san! I've seen some of your shows through the Imperial-sponsored reruns. Welcome, welcome!" She greeted him with an enthusiastic bow, despite the difference in status, there was quite a bit of fame. "Ah, yeah, we're still looking for volunteers! I'm hoping that each child gets an adult to help them, before we need to resort to pairing an adult with 2 or more children..."

She paused for a moment, looking to see who had gathered so far, wondering what sort of disaster that would entail.

"Some children and their parents would be especially interested in working with non-Crab, too!" She said as she found herself looking down at the Detective. Even if they had no idea who was Souta and the Detective, they wouldn't turn down working with a primate.

[Shinjo Suh-Hyun]

Still exhausted but at least a tad cooler, Suh-Hyun made her way to an outdoor setting area. She was nursing her third bottle of water and her brain was taunting her with survival training calculations related to heat stroke, core temperature, and hydration. So that was nice.

Dropping into an empty seat she leaned back and watched the crowd.

"In less than two days?" Kisha replies. "There's not enough of me to do it all in ten," and she grins. "I'm not exactly a towering figure, after all.

"But all I've seen so far has been delightful," she continues. "This seems a good place full of good people; it will be good to see it prosper."

"True true, honestly you could spend that many exploring just Golden Shotengai. Everything from clothes to toys to the finest food and drink. There's even a place I know where you can have traditional tea, if you'd believe that." she said.

[Yoritomo Yakura]

Satisfied that her charge is doing well and is running an expert shop (and fleecing people) yakura decided to take a gander around. Flashing a smile and a wave towards the hostess, she drcided to look at ehat to buy.

"True true, honestly you could spend that many exploring just Golden Shotengai. Everything from clothes to toys to the finest food and drink. There's even a place I know where you can have traditional tea, if you'd believe that." she said.

"I would believe it," Kisha says, "and I'd love to go there. It's so rare to find such a place anymore that it's a treat not to be passed up!"

She smiles.

"What's the name of it, if I may ask?"

"Tori Tea," she revealed. "If you'd like to swing buy after First Market, I'd be honored to have tea with you. Selling is thirsty work after all.

[Kitsune Kiyoshi]

"I see. Well, we'll help anyone who will take us. I'm far better at performing than trading, but we'll make it fun."

[Susumu Ami]

After bidding Zenihime-chan best of luck, Ami went to observe the rest of the market. For such a storied tradition, she wore her finest Kimono. Dark black with charcoal colored webbing patterns in the material. Her silver hair clipped back with a wicked looking butterfly clip with the motif of a death's head moth.

Despite the modesty of the Kimono, it still framed her alluring form in a way that would stir hearts... or anything else. And that was by her design. She knew she was attractive and used it to her advantage.

The scent of Shahai no. 5 was heavy around her, and her make up was perfect.
