[Day 1, Early Afternoon] What Do You Call a Gathering of Scorpions? [Closed]

[Bayushi Kazushi]

Bayushi Kazushi has reserved a side room at Kappa's Pond for the Scorpion contingent to gather and do their thing. Kazushi himself is sitting by the open door, looking out at the sea, while Kurumi watches the door and Katsumi taps away at her computer, ready to take minutes for the meeting.

[Bayushi Senshuken]

Bayushi Senshuken makes her appearance. The young courtier is dressed in a buggy red pair of pants, a black T shirt, red suspenders and black sneakers. Her clothes are quite simple, but fashionable and pricy if someone knows about these things. She holds a bike helmet and carries a small backpack.

Upon noticing the elder Bayushi, she offers a bow. "Blessings of the fortunes, Bayushi sama. I am Bayushi Senshuken. I believe that I was summoned."

[Bayushi Kazushi]

"I'm not sure if 'summoned' is quite the right word," Kazushi replies, "but I did think it might be best if we gathered to discuss the resources available to us and how we might best use them to advance our goals on this planet."

[Bayushi Senshuken]

"Well, a senior's invitation to a meeting is always a summon. My sensei's words." She replies and smiles politely behind her mask. "I heard that there are four of us this season. Our chances are good and they will become even better with careful planning."

[Soshi Kotori]

There is a soft knock on the door, and the after a few moment, it slides open as a female voice softly announces excuses the interruption, steps inside and closes the door behind themselves.

"Bayushi-sama...s?"She says with a slight upwards inflection and a polite bow. "I am Soshi Kotori of Kochako."

((OOC: Worth noting, she doesn't have a proper mask, Its a veil (i.e. symbolic for a scrap of fabric). A Scorpion would likely assume she stuffed up her Gempukku and her sensei was mad about it.))

[Bayushi Kazushi]

Kazushi nods to Kotori as she enters.

"I would only barely consider me your 'senior'," he replies to Senshuken, "unless you're with the Orchid Department. Still, you're right - our chances are good, if only because we're so well represented. There are some big names on the island, though, and their clout may hinder our efforts unless we can find ways to counter them."

[Bayushi Senshuken]

Senshu offers a bow to the latest arrival and actually talks to her. "Blessings of the fortunes, Soshi san. Bayushi Senshuken. Please, join us. I believe we are only missing one now."

Her attention returns to the other Bayushi. "Well, I believe that our families are of equal standing and political clout, Bayushi sama. But you are married to a former member of the Imperial families which makes you my senior in this court. I made sure that I have the basic intelligence of whom I'm meeting around here. By right and by might, you are to lead us in this court so any indicated ways to counter the efforts of the other clans will be followed to the letter." She bows her head in recognition. It's a good change of pace to have other Scorpion involved in the matters of this court. Especially a senior one.

[Bayushi Kazushi]

Kazushi sighs over-dramatically, trying to put on a show of being reluctant to take charge, but it's clear this is a situation he's used to.

"You've done your homework, Senshuken-san," he notes. "Have you any other insights that might be of use to us?"

[Soshi Kotori]

Kotori quietly moved to situate herself to the side of the room near the wall. There she waited, hands gently folded infront of her, gaze lowered slightly.

[Bayushi Senshuken]

"I am not sure yet, Bayushi sama. It is only the first day. The beginning of the recon actions. We will do our best and see what chances will come up, I suppose."

She joins the Soshi. "I believe that Bayushi san, the third one, will join us before long."

[Bayushi Kazushi]

"He's probably still sleeping it off - he was putting them away with some Crab last night at the Pink Lotus," says Kazushi with a sigh.

[Bayushi Senshuken]

"Well, do you want us to proceed or wait, Bayushi sama?"

[Soshi Kotori]

Kotori briefly gazes up to look between the two before letting her attentions drift away once more.

[Bayushi Kazushi]

Kazushi sighs.

"I suppose we should proceed, as I don't want to lose any more time," he says. "The 'mission', such as it is, is straightforward - establish a foothold in this system by securing a contract with the local governor. Each of us has a specialization that we can use to pursue this end - Hinata-san and I have our corporate connections, you have your sporting associations..."

...he says with a nod to Senshuken...

"...and you are here to manage our information gathering and security..."

...he says with a nod to Kotori.

"The Crab will need to be our primary focus, as their support one way or another may drastically affect the outcome of this little gathering. The Dragon are likely to be our most troublesome opponents, so we will need to find ways to undermine them or otherwise remove their ability to push their agenda. Let's focus our information gathering on them for now. I'm certain that each of you are more than capable of approaching those matters without micromanagement on my part, so I'll largely leave you to it. Keep me informed regarding any progress or problems you encounter, so we can adjust our plans as necessary."

[Bayushi Senshuken]

"Sure! I'm not sure why the Dragon of all people possess such a strength, but sure." She agrees readily. "Just keep in mind that I'm also a courtier and a business owner. In case you need something. Still, it's a deal."

[Bayushi Kazushi]

Kazushi nods, then turns to see if there's any reaction from the quiet Soshi.

[Soshi Kotori]

She looked up for a brief moment, made eye contact then promptly looked elsewhere - that was awkward.

"Understood Bayushi-sama. But if there is anything in particular you would like me to look into, please let me know." She spoke politely. "I also intend to leverage my business to the cause."
