D-1, EA, The Pony Club (Unicorn only-Embassy)

[Moto Shiwahime]

Hey...the ambassy was not that bad? Rooms were better then the ones she had on the road and there was even a kitchen and a gym!

Shiwahime was making herself a coffee. She hoped to meet the others here for the business thingy...she was pretty sure she'd seen some other visitors.

[Shinjo Suh-Hyun]

With the day being some what official, Suh-Hyun was wearing her duty uniform. Surprisingly comfortable looking, though the close fitting jacket and tucked scarf was guaranteed to be hot later. Tucked into her jacket's right shoulder strap was a midnight blue beret.

Depending on the Moto's familiarity with the Unicorn Navy, the outfit said quite a bit. Most notably that the Shinjo is a fighter pilot, was involved in fairly recent anti-pirate raids in the far colonies, and has shot down at least five enemies.

She smiles at the Moto, "Good morning. Shinjo Suh-Hyun, 2nd Evaluation and Testing Squadron of the Unicorn Navy. Seems we will be working together?" The Shinjo extends a hand toward the Moto.

[Moto Shiwahime]

''Hey there'' she put down the coffee pot before taking the Shinjo's hand ''I am Moto Shiwahime. The brew is fresh, if you need it''

She pointed towards it and grinned wide

''Since it's more of an afternoon right now.''

She took a good sip herself

''Seems we will indeed though I am supposed to be in vacation. I'm usually a doshin but I helped the navy a few times in the last year.''

[Utaku Itsuka]

A knock to the door, and another woman steps into the common room they were meeting in. Patterned, colourful flared trousers with bright orange and purple tones, crimson top, dark brown jacket, closed umbrella on her left hand.

Are those multicoloured small planes on the umbrella's pattern? It's hard to see well through the wrinkles with it closed. Probably not?

She nods, bows, her lips curve slightly in what might pass for a wan smile if her eyes had contributed at all.

"Moto-san, Shinjo-sama, good afternoon. The local clan office sent word about your arrival and said I'd find you two here. Utaku Itsuka" she starts bowing again, then stops halfway throuhh and extends her hand. "Hope the trip from Unicorn space was a good one?"

[Moto Shiwahime]

''Hey!'' she exclaimed when a third unicorn came in ''Nice drip Utaku-san. I'm Moto Shiwahime'' she cheerfully grabbed the extended hand

''Trip was fine...had worse.'' She shrugs ''So, what's with the corpo shindig? What's our plan?''

[Shinjo Suh-Hyun]

Suh-Hyun happily returned the handshake, it was always comforting greeting one of her own. "Shinjo Suh-Hyun, 2nd Evaluation and Testing Squadron of the Unicorn Navy. A pleasure to meet you Utaku-san."

Her eyes flick back to the Moto, "Eh? Helped with the Navy. I hope it wasn't having to trouble yourself rounding up some of us after too full wallets turn into too many drinks post tour. Not that us pilots were known for that." She grinned. "I was temporarily detached from my Squadron. The project I was involved in hit something of a snag and the engineers wanted us pilots out of the shop as it were for a few days while they crunched numbers. Since I wasn't really up for a vacation I wound up here. I thought this was more me assisting some Ide or Iuchi trying to make connections with our Crab hosts. But haven't seen any." She let's out an awkward and nervous laugh.

[Moto Shiwahime]

''Nah...'' she waved a hand ''...nothing like that. Some of the worlds I worked on lacked manpower so I helped with some boarding maneuvers or manhunts if a spider ship went down planet-side.'' she clarified with an air of non-chalance

''What can I say? Spider squishing is a fun sport!'' there was a flair up of something dangerous in her face before she returned to the topic at hand

''Yeah...no courtier seems to be an oversight or it might be a chance to improve?'' she gave a shrug ''Or we just need to help our clanmates here to improve their businesses''

[Shinjo Suh-Hyun]

Suh-Hyun's own expression hardens for a second, "I think you mean pirates. Well armed and equipped pirates." The venom in her voice left little doubt she had was talking about the Spider as well.

She sighs and wave a hand in front of her face, "No use worrying about that here and now. That's another days problem."

The Shinjo's attention shifts to the Utaku, "What sort of business do you do here anyway Utaku-san?" Her face softens a little as she notices the emptiness in the other woman's eyes. "Working late?" It was a lame attempt at asking 'are you ok?' but it would do.

[Utaku Itsuka]

The Utaku's lifeless eyes shift to the Moto for a second. Possibly after she mentioned 'Spider Squishing?' Hard to be sure.

"Not that much later than usual", she then answers turning to the Shinjo. "Been wondering a bit about change on the horizon, I guess."

She shakes her head slightly. "Waterfront transfers, and tours", she then properly answers. "Boats and plane - well, seaplane, we don't have proper landing strips in many places. Did help us get acquainted and close with the land quick" another smile, again restricted to a slight curling of her lips."

"Ide and Iuchi... did the clan send any word? I don't remember the local office mentioning any."

[Moto Shiwahime]

"Right...right" she made finger quotes "Pirates"

She pondered the situation for a quick second

"Guess we'll help you with your business, Utaku-san. My suggestion comes in two words: speed boats!"

[Shinjo Suh-Hyun]

Suh-Hyun chuckled at the Utaku's response, "A plane? You really can't take the skies from an Utaku, neh?"

"Well beyond Utaku-san's business, I think we should speak to the local Crab and see what they want. It's their island after all. If we can provide it, that's great, and if not...well then at least we can make friends and leave good opinions by helping the locals."

[Utaku Itsuka]

Itsuka is about to turn to Shiwahime to say something, but her gaze immediately shifts to the Shinjo when she hears her remark about 'taking the skies' from her.

Not quite a gaze, really. More a blazing stare.

....To lose the skies, as well? She shudders. That hadn't even occurred to her. We... best not think about it.

"Meeting the locals is sound, Shinjo-sama", she answers, tone gentle, face already back to its normal (i.e., vacant) state.

She then finally turns to Shiwahime. "Hm. A second one? That's not a bad idea... with enough investment, maybe one more trusty employee." She looks at the window, towards the harbourfront.

"Maybe we could stage a race to attract visitors? Are you also a helmsman, Moto-san?"

[Moto Shiwahime]

''Nah, I'm a biker mostly. Boat racing sounds fucking dope though.''

It had taken her some time to notice the Utaku's facial mood shifts but she had

''Are you okay Utaku-san? You look like you've eaten your own horse''

Smooth operator, this one

[Shinjo Suh-Hyun]

Suh-Hyun had also noticed the look after her joke, "My apologies Utaku-san, it was not my intent to offend."

"Is racing culture strong on this world? I couldn't help but notice there were a lot of fast cars and bikes roaming around." Suh-Hyun opted for redirection, concerned that prying would only make Itsuka uncomfortable.

[Utaku Itsuka]

"Oh?" She looks at the Moto, then the Shinjo. "Oh."

She genuinely only seems to notice how hard she stated after their comments.

"It's..." A short pause. "No offence taken, Shinjo-sama, and my apologies as well. Just my mind... racing."

Off to rather uncomfortable places, it'd seem, but no words are spoken in that regard.

"More of a sports vehicle culture, I think." She looks outside again. "Certainly there must be *some* racing going on, too much of a wasted opportunity otherwise. But I'd wager there's more 'flashy' than 'daring' around."

She looks at Shiwahime again. "Wouldn't be surprised to see the local racing culture develop with the right push, though."

[Moto Shiwahime]

''Speed boats seems a logical step considering the island life and all...You could easily do water skiing, do kite boarding or the sport thing where you are the kite being pulled by the boat.''

She stared hard at Itsuka

''You know...if it's someone or someones causing you problems I can go beat the shit out of them''

[Shinjo Suh-Hyun]

"Oh?" She looks at the Moto, then the Shinjo. "Oh."

She genuinely only seems to notice how hard she stated after their comments.

"It's..." A short pause. "No offence taken, Shinjo-sama, and my apologies as well. Just my mind... racing."

She looks at Shiwahime again. "Wouldn't be surprised to see the local racing culture develop with the right push, though."

"Well I suspect there will be more while we are here. Moto-san's intentions seem pretty clear," She nodded to the Moto, "Personally I prefer the skies and stars, but I'm not above some friendly competition on the ground. A bit different with all the open space though, I'm more used to the circuits on Shinjo's Grace."

Less direct then the Moto, Suh-Hyun's sympathetic smile and slight nod carried an implied offer of help...though perhaps in a less violent capacity.

[Utaku Itsuka]

The Utaku nods at them both, her eyes showing sincere gratitude for a moment. A faint grin follows.

"It's... I don't think it's something easily solved with a beating."

...Maybe beating her to her senses, something deep inside her suggested. She shrugged the thought.

"Sometimes I wish it were. But you know... the racing idea isn't bad. I wonder if we could act on it."

[Moto Shiwahime]

''Jetskis too'' Shiwahime added to to racing idea since the Utaku did not seem to want to share her problems...yet

''We could scout some areas and ask for either a permit or buy ownership of a coastal property...if the sea floor does not deep or keep fairly stable for a distance we'd have a great basis for a sea sport location.''

[Shinjo Suh-Hyun]

"When it comes to scouting racing locations I'll leave it to more familiar eyes," Suh-Hyun smiled and held up a hand, "Now if you want a space or aerial one, that's more my skill."

"But might want to see about expanding the idea to ground vehicles too...not particular to Utaku-san's business but as a possible larger project. Maybe get a few of the local businesses in on the idea." She shrugs, "If it got big enough that's more tourists and more koku going into their restaurants and stores."
