[Day 6, Late Afternoon, Closed] Star Crab the Crab Star

[Yasuki Honoka]

Everyone would, within a couple minutes of the staff and crew exiting the kitchen, head a loud crash of metal clattering to the floor. Some likely indistinguishable shouting, and then silence after a final door slammed through haste of exiting out the back although this last sound was deeply muffled as this is a fairly large restaurant. Enough time would pass within the silence that those in the dining area might grow concerned. However, by the time that concern might have risen to action the door from the kitchen would open with Honoka in the lead and Hiroto behind her.

Approaching the gathered samurai she would look first to Umiko to offer a sad smile, then addressed the group, "Everyone, it is my deepest apologies that today's activity must be canceled. Unfortunately, some things have come to light and Yasuki Kaito has left the establishment."

Honoka would reveal this, and rather than expanding further allow for the air to settle and for the questions to surface so she might answer people's most immediate concerns directly.

[Yasuki Umiko]

"We are thankful to have a vibrant city life in Nakahama City. The roads are a little smaller than we would like, which might contribute to making the city look bigger than it actually is with all of the night traffic..." Umiko would trail off when she saw the film crew, then the kitchen staff would emerge from the kitchen.

There was a look of concern on Umiko's face at what happened, and she immediately tensed up when there was a crash in the kitchen. A part of her wondered if she would run in and check or merely keep a distance. Considering there were two people she knew well in there, or at least she thought she did, she decided to go inside.

"Excuse me, Bayushi-san..." she would say before starting to make her way to the kitchen, but only stopped when Honoka also went out to address the group.

"Oh, so I see," she murmured, not really seeing. Umiko's face looked a bit confused, it seemed rather strange of Kaito to suddenly call things off like this. While he had a rather sketchy past, she would assume that he was more capable as an adult, almost a decade later after his gempukku. The crash in the kitchen and the slamming of the door, there were so many questions without a complete picture. So many concerns. Perhaps best to not raise them all at once.

"...I'm sure he has a good reason," she said with a mustered smile and bowed to everyone. "I find myself wanting to apologize on his behalf. He had been looking forward to this, but I'm sure this is an emergency he needed to attend to on short notice. No need to contact him. I will be in touch with him for a formal reason and apology at a later date."

The recording crew would find themselves just looking at each other, but they supposed that without direction, they would indeed have to put off the shot for now. Kaito likely was the one who worked the favours to have this aired on short notice, after all.

[Miya Kisha]

"Well, that's a shame," Kisha says, as oblivious as her player to what's going on and unwilling to press issues.

"But no apology is necessary, Madame Karo," she continues. "Even so short a talk with you has been a pleasure!"

She bows.

[Bayushi Kazushi]

"Indeed," Kazushi agrees with a bow, "thank you for your time."

[Yasuki Honoka]

With words given by all present Honoka would look to Umiko, her eyes darting to and off of her a couple times. Feeling in her chest a tightness of uncertainty. However, Umiko was her dearest friend and she would not turn away and simply hope for the best. That mix of emotion helped temper the rage inside her from having heard Umiko apologize on his behalf.

Oh, how Honoka felt pained to hear it.

"Yes, of that much I am certain Yasuki Kaito has been looking forward to this opportunity for some time. Of which, if I may, I do need to speak with you privately, Umiko-chan. As soon as you might be able," she says, holding to a polite tone in front of these relative strangers considering the emotions she is holding back.

[Bayushi Kazushi]

Kazushi sends a quick glance Kisha's way. Something's very, very not right about all this...

[Yasuki Umiko]

"Both of you are more than welcome to call me anytime if you have any questions or even tips about what we have to offer on the island," she offered a small smile before bowing to them once more. "Please excuse me."

With that, she would nod and quietly lead the way so that they could have a proper aside with Honoka. Umiko didn't know what this was about, but at the very least, she knew some privacy should be necessary.

[Yasuki Ayame]

As this was going on and Umiko left to have a talk with Honoka, Ayame would meander by the periphery of the entrance, seemingly having just arrived at the designated meeting much later than everyone else. She was dressed in a white blouse with patterned shorts that seemed quite befitting of local fashions and appropriate for the warm weather without great dependence on a temperator.

She found herself curious, glancing about just as the station crew had about made their exit from the restaurant.

[Miya Kisha]

Kisha would respond to Kasuzhi's look--she sees it, of course--but the entrance of the governor means other things must be addressed.

The shisha bows, sharply and deeply.

"Yasuki-chiji," she says, perhaps a bit louder than normal. "It is an honor, of course!"

[Bayushi Kazushi]

Kazushi and the twins rise and bow as well.

"It seems there's been some sort of...issue," he says, "but we'd certainly welcome your company regardless of that."

[Yasuki Honoka]

"Both of you are more than welcome to call me anytime if you have any questions or even tips about what we have to offer on the island," she offered a small smile before bowing to them once more. "Please excuse me."

Honoka gazed into the aquarium a little longer than maybe was entirely proper. Finding in it a source of comfort for what reveal would happen next. Bolstering herself she breathes in deeply, and turns to face Umiko

"Yasuki Kaito meant to embarrass you by poisoning your food," she said, quickly and sharply like ripping off a bandaid. A scowl rising to her expression that she didn't seem to notice. "I don't.." she falters a little, "I know you care for him, and he claimed to care for you.. so this may be hard. I'm sorry I handled that out of order I.. he.. he tried to persuade me to go along with it when Yasuki Hiroto caught him, and that he thought I would betray someone I care for so deeply? It.." she lowers her gaze, her shoulders drop. "It angers me."

Ayame would casually walk into the place like it was her own living room. Well, the island is likely her whole living room. She found herself giving a smirk to Miya's greeting and gave her a nod in acknowledgment to both samurai. "Hello, good afternoon to you too. Kind of cute. Wow, they really rolled out the premium tatami for me here, huh? Pleased to meet you, too, Miya-san. And good to see you again, too, Bayushi-san."

She narrowed her eyes and looked further into the restaurant to see if it would gleam some insight, despite the story being gone. There was a tinge of disappointment that was apparent in her eyes as the most worrisome issue just dawned on her. "...So you're telling me that there isn't going to be any food here..."

[Bayushi Kazushi]

"There may be food, but there probably won't be a Silver Fin spotlight, much to my dismay," Kazushi says, shaking his head. "Miya-san may be able to cover for that aspect, though, as I'm sure she has enough reach to make this worthwhile."

"Heh? What?" Umiko said with a double blink at first and dipped her head forward slightly, as if wanting more clarification on the matter. That seemed so unlikely for a situation! Poison their food? She didn't know whether to be stunned to laugh it off. Well, perhaps if this came from someone other than Honoka, she might be convinced to do the latter.

Still, really? What?

Her expression turned serious as she looked like she was still mulling it over. It seemed such an impossible occurrence, at least in her imagination. She gave a few small shakes of her head, still slightly in denial, but she had to entertain the possibility with her friend. It was really unfortunate that their next face-to-face interaction was over something like this. "...But, why? Why would he do something like that? I don't get it..."

[Yasuki Ayame]

"There may be food, but there probably won't be a Silver Fin spotlight, much to my dismay," Kazushi says, shaking his head. "Miya-san may be able to cover for that aspect, though, as I'm sure she has enough reach to make this worthwhile."

Ayame grinned at the idea and shook her head. "Well, I think I was promised food first and foremost. The taping was something of a vehicle to get the food. I heard good things about this place and I didn't eat all afternoon because of Jade Chef. Starving! That said, if I want to be covered, I think I'd rather do something else than beiing taped eating food and giving my reaction. That's such Umiko-chan's thing."

"I did not inquire much further than what he offered at the surface," she says, looking down again and feeling perhaps there might be deeper answers that could offer a more satisfying conclusion. However, she was set on offering everything she could. Even if the next words would be hard for her to bear saying, as truly false she believes them to be. With a deep breath she prepares herself.

"I believe it may have been jealousy. As when he made his offer to me he spoke of how you, your sister, and your family are not worthy of the blessings you've received. He claimed to know you better than I do, and that his better understanding revealed that you are not good. That he wished for the public to understand you are not as perfect as you seem, and to muddy your reputation. That you are untrustworthy," she says, and dares to almost look up at Umiko but she is almost too afraid to. Afraid to be honest in this moment, because the tension felt so high. Blood pumping in her body so quickly that she can feel her pulse.

"Which.. in all that I have ever known of you is truly a ridiculous thing to have heard," she says, trying to put on a smile for Umiko as she looks up briefly but struggling with it.

"I believe he acted in a way that reminded me of a bitter, vindictive child. Perhaps, because he was jealous of all that you are set to be able to accomplish. All that you have achieved."

[Miya Kisha]

Ayame grinned at the idea and shook her head. "Well, I think I was promised food first and foremost. The taping was something of a vehicle to get the food. "Then I'll make sure my camera's off," Kisha says. "But I'm probably not the best person to help with the food. Let me go see if I can find Yasuki Honoka; she'd be better at it."

Kisha steps back, makes sure her holodrone is all the way off, and then quietly moves off to find Honoka...coming up just in time to hear...

All that you have achieved."

She will wait to be acknowledged.

"...Jealousy?" Umiko murmured softly as she tried to follow the story here. Well, she knew of her situation between her father, uncle, and cousin. That came from left field, however. Jealousy... Afterwards, there was a sort of silence that fell on her as she looked down, seemingly pensive, but at the same time, there was a sort of internal reflection here. It was such an inconvenient time, but she felt stunned enough not to add or question anything else.

"...Thank you, Honoka-chan..." she said with a slow nod as she put effort into smiling back.

"Oh, Miya-san!" Umiko would say just as Kisha approached, perhaps either finding a quick escape from the situation or a place to put on her On once more. There was a momentary glance as she expected her to say something first, hopefully some good news. "Yes?"

[Miya Kisha]

Kisha nods her head.

"Well, Yasuki-karo, the governor is here, and she reports being quite hungry. I was looking for Yasuki-sama here for that purpose.

"If that's alright?"
