"Golden pheasants? What are those?" Shiwahime was glad to move away from theology

"They are a colourful sort of bird with orange and yellow plumes, almost reminiscent of a phoenix. I know the bird is one found in old Rokugan and a game bird that's typically hunted by high-ranking samurai. They keep a few in captivity here and breed them for this sole purpose."

"Oh they sound beautiful! Do you have contact information for the person that breeds them? I'd love to get some footage. I make avi-drones that resemble real-life birds."

"And if anyone hear has a local cormorant they've trained, I'd love to meet them. I'd gladly make it worth your time."

"These are very good, Kakita-san, thank you," Haruto said after finishing his food, then he looked up for a moment in consideration before answering the Crane. "I do believe Kaori-san might be the one in charge of breeding them, and she might know about the birds, too. She can be found over in the farmlands, but I'm sure she'll be having her hands full with releasing the game to the wild and potentially capturing them back, the ones that haven't been hunted, at least."

"Maybe she won't mind me capturing a little footage of one that isn't going to be participating in the hunt. Before or after. Thanks! I'll ask her."

Shiwahime snapped her fingers, remembering something

''Oh yeah...Yasuki-san...how do you prepare imitation crab?''

Haruto looked curious for a moment at the question before answering. "I'm not too sure, actually...I thought it was a combination of processed fish. Honestly, that's something I typically just leave the nearby Uomoto Co. food plant to make. I'm sure some of the locals here could make it at home, but with the food being cheaper than the effort and the abundance of local seafood, it might be harder to find fresh imitation crab compared to something more expensive and fresh, like Tango Tuna."

She nods

''Can you make dishes out of it or you just eat it as is?''

"It can be eaten by itself," he offered a small smile at that. "Actually, one of the food stands around here actually offers a large portion of it, grilled on a fire and slathered with butter. I think it goes for less than 2 zeni. It is quite filling by itself, maybe from the starch that goes into it. Aside from that, they do make cheap sushi out of it, sometimes shredded for salad or rice bowls. Anywhere seafood is found, as either a replacement or complement, often the former in Tenjin Town."

She began writing that on a pocket datapad

''Okay, thanks. That was why I asked about the Bon festival, actually. I was hoping to have a foodstall serving imitation crab dishes there''

Haruto smiled gently. "That's a fine idea, Moto-san. I imagine they might not have many of those in Nakahama City, actually. It might be something of an unspoken guilty pleasure for some people."

He would stand from his seat and bow politely to excuse himself. "That said, I should return to helping with the cleanup and repair efforts. Thank you for your help and for joining us for breakfast. And thank you for your delicious contribution, Kakita-san."

If not stopped, Haruto would return to the 'streets' of the coastal settlement.
