On a nearby hill top, the jimen tori watched Kanna and her group move around obviously looking for something.



"Blimey, old chap. There's been an awful lot of these humans around today, innit?" cawed one bird to the other.
"I say! You reckon they be lookin' for some food or the like?" cawed the other bird.
"Who knows? These humans are odd, that's for sure!"

Haruhi had two goals for the hunt.
1) Find a golden pheasant and capture audio and video
2) Find a jimen tori and keep it safe from the hunt

The guides insisted the 3rd hunt be for another animal, so she planned to try catching a tuna again.

The golden pheasant proved elusive. Alas! But she had the contact information for the breeder, Yasuki Kaori-san. She could try to visit tomorrow when any surviving pheasants were resting.

She was able to find a jimen tori. She focused on leading it to a place of safety so it would survive the hunt. It was easily lured by fish. One jimen tori saved!

She actually spotted a tuna, so there was a chance there. But it wriggled free and also lived to swim another day.

Sumie was there to ruin someone's day. It didn't matter if they were some pre-gempukku child who was getting rewarded by their parents for earning a gold star or some retired geezer who was trying to recapture their youth with the magic of video games. Someone was going to get owned. Destroyed! Merc'd!

"Out of the way, dorks," Sumie would say when she stepped forward to take her turn with The First Tournament: Tag Edition. She would put her arms behind her back in a quick stretch with a roll of her neck, then assume a hunched position to take up as much arm space as possible. This should also work to her advantage because she was banking that her opponent had never touched another human being before. She picked the most edgy combination ever, Akodo and Shiba. Those Clans never partnered before, right? Bite me history try-hards, before you say anything!

She tapped her buttons in quick succession when she launched someone in the air, keeping them up with various fancy footwork from Shiba-Kami. What should have been a one-way train to Suffertown with an Akodo-kami tag in was cut short when she missed her grapple chain. "Lame!"

Unfortunately...that was the only machine she had her eyes set on. Sure, she could scrouge up a disguise to go again, but she meandered around and tried the Test of Strength to get the lowest score of recognition. Lame, I don't need your pity tickets.

She took the tickets.

Ugh, gachapon, gross. But still, she tried her hand at gachapon in hopes of getting a NAT ONE HUNDRED. Surely, then the Clans will come swarming at her for that 1 Bid Point so that they could earn some sort of convoluted, double-linked company that made lameo kitchen appliances. They'll say 'save us!' and then she'll look down and whisper...'no'.

Alas, that didn't happen. But, at least she got enough to get a box of Yasuki Miho's Marines. This unit was totally busted and overpowered...if you played in that era of war.

I held it together until the "Mysterious Stranger merit proc".

"UGH! Mega-lame! What are you doing, Hinata?!" called out a voice from the Harbourfront crowd as Sumie stormed into the scene.

She would walk over to where the Scorpion bushi and try to take hold of his forearm, only to drag him off from this mega lame scene. Ugh, a mainstream ex-Idol, ex-actress? Even someone like him could be doing better than spending him with her! She probably plays 4th edition too, the worst! Bet her character wears a sexy school uniform. Lame! Played out!

"Come'on, you and I, let's go!" She called out to him, like she knew him.

"I'm rescuing you," she would half-whisper to him. "Consider this a Mysterious Stranger merit proc."

Ichitaiyo slowly made her way, careful to not be on sight of the windows to come closer to the home.. but she wouldn't be able to gather evidence without placing the recorder close to the Yoriki's words. Thus, she crawled under the rain and mud until she made to the room, just noticing that the red-marked woman peered out ocasionally. Taking a deep breath in, she awaited for the moment where the suspect would turn away from the angle she was under before shooting forwards in a sprint, steps deafened by the heavy rain, and managed to find her spot right besides the window. Ayaka would have to push her head off into the rain to see her.

Carefully, she placed the recorder as close as she could, and overhear..

One of the absolute first things Honoka had to do, was to get her fortune drawn. A conversation she needs to have looming over her mind, and making her frightfully nervous. Any little sign that might promise her hope was like a life preserver. So, when she drew the stick for extreme luck her eyes became affixed by it like it was gospel. Holding that stick in her hand she could believe, truly believe, everything was going to work out somehow.

While Honoka prepared for the sack race, she set Crabbo to the side with the stick she asked to keep. Knowing her good fortune was well protected in Crabbo's hands she could allow herself to enjoy the races that followed. Participating not only in the sack race, but the egg and spoon, and finally coming down to the goldfish scooping station. Where she would manage to scoop not just one, but two goldfish, and some part of her nerve wracked heart sang like this was a fortune in and of itself.

Honoka is precious and must be protected!!

Ki-kun tried. He wasn't a drinker and masked this with a long tale of Crane/Crab allies of the distant past. He then spoke enthusiastically about more recent instances of cooperation between the clans by heroes now departed. Black Bay sake he'd had before . . . and he did not want a repeat of the Dansuke Dance Diabolical Incident . . . and the tables here were far too full to dance on and he didn't have a feather boa with him.
