I rolled as if it did. And it wasn't necessary. But in hindsight, I should ask about that.
The damage bonus is meant for the attacks only but I know it gets loopy when the Artillery breaks this trend.
I will say no, it doesn't add on to the heroic action damage.
A note to self to streamline the consistencies in the future.
And also to buff HP for enemies.

Boat Race
Sailing (Boat type chosen)/Agility - Base TN (20).
Sailing (Boat type chosen)/Reflexes, Perception or Void - Must call 1 Raise for no effect.
Skill substitution: Driving, Piloting or Investigation may be used instead of Sailing. If you use one of these skills, you must call 1 Raise for no effect or suffer a penalty of -2k0 to your roll, due to your inexperience dealing with the waves!
Does Skill Substitution use Agility or the Train usually associated with that Skill?

Skill substitution changes
only the skill, otherwise using the Traits defined for that specific roll.
So in this specific case, if using Skill Substitution you could use:
Skill chosen/Agi at TN 20, and you must either call a Raise for no effect or sufffer a -2k0 penalty
Skill chosen/Reflexes, Perception or Void, and you must either call 2 Raises for no effect, or call 1 Raise for no effect and suffer a -2k0 penalty.

One more clarification, dearests,
Due to a copy-paste error, Steering rolls for the last stage had a mention to 'the original TN of the roll', even though the success clause doesn't mention it.
It's been removed now for clarity!
Just to keep things clear, the success and fail rules for Stage 3 are:
On success, you gain Speed Points equal to the result of your roll. If you succeed with Raises, add 2k1 Speed Points per successful Raise.
On failure, gain Speed Points equal to half your roll, then lose 1k1 Speed Points per Raise called. This can lead you into negatives.
That adds some more Speed Points to those who succeeded, but shouldn't otherwise change standings!

How would you like to handle Hiroto going forward, as action time is upon us!
Shall I ask for a base list of stats, so I can roll for him? Or, would you like if I just tell you what I'd like him to do and then you can make the rolls? If the Kuni truly dropped his sidearm I imagine he'll rush for that first, then take cover, and if he can get back to his own gear great but otherwise!
