[Day 9 - Late Afternoon] RP Thread: Security Testing

"I see," Nagisa said before taking a small sip of water. "Sorry, Moto-san. That's just very unfortunate of you. Did this happen over at the Natsuzora Ryokan? I would have thought security would be better there, especially so close to the City. It must have been something that uncharacteristically slipped past the defence force, surely a rarity."

"She is very lucky to have me," she smiled charmingly on that note. "I was hoping to run into Umiko-chan already here, even if this event isn't exactly her thing. But, she's managing the city events, isn't she? I thought she would at least make an appearance here."

Nagisa tapped her chin a few times in thought. "While not a computer expert...There's a show where she plays a sort of hacker for a few episodes. The Great Journey, I believe? It was an attempt by the Silver Fin Productions to make something big by throwing a lot of koku into the production, perhaps the most they've invested in a serial? I'm not sure if it made a dent outside of the Crab Clan, but I don't recall seeing it anywhere else outside of Crab space. Anyway, she plays the most unsuspecting corporate espionage hacker? Not her best role, but the few episodes she was in were a bit adorable, in a way."

"I'd be interested in hearing her opinion," Kazushi says, nodding. "It's a touch on the dramatic side, even for me, but it has potential..."

"I promise to share it as soon as I hear back! I do like that style of mask. If I was going to wear one, like to a masked party, I think I'd like one like that. It looks both dramatic and comfortable. The veil is so delicate and transparent. It does not hide if you are smiling."

"Few of mine do," replies Kazushi. "I wear the mask out of respect for tradition, but I prefer that the people around me can both see and hear me clearly. Far too many wear mempo-like masks, then face years of frustration when they have to repeat everything they say three or four times before anyone can understand them."

"Oh I hadn't even thought about clarity. Just the aesthetic advantage! I suppose security hacking lends itself to a certain 'masked' quality. Though perhaps a 'white hat' is the proper accessory for reinforcing. I have such a cute one that I wear at the beach. White with a blue ribbon. I absolutely should have put it on today!"

Oh? So her friend was Yasuki-sama? Shiwahime allowed herself to smile as well.

''Yasuki-sama is indeed, in charge of most of the events if I recall correctly. The Bon festival is getting closer tho and that is also lot of work on her plate...that might be the cause of her absence. She asked some of us to help on that matter so she can focus on other stuff.''

When the captain mention television programming the Moto remembered that the Karo also had been an actress

''Oh? I don't watch much television or cinema so I am not aware if that show appeared on Unicorn channels. The premise seems interesting though. I do not know about Yasuki-sama's career but from the few interactions we had she would make an unsuspecting spy indeed...though a good one.''

After she alluded to the day's rumours, she gave a shrug of her shoulder. "Of course, it could just mean that she has too much on her plate and I'm just overthinking it. That must be the case, Moto-san, silly me!"

Nagisa looked mildly shocked. "Heh, really? You don't? That's unfortunate! Maybe you should consider at least tuning into the informator with your remaining days here. I think the local channel is running a very topical rerun of Inferno House. That's the one where she plays the main character who goes semi-undercover as an engineer to a shiro where she used to live as a child, to discover the truth about her mother's supposed guild and right under her father's nose! There's a bit of a duplicitous element there. While her character is willing to do underhanded things, I would doubt that she would be unable to do such things off-camera. She's just too wholesome! Is that your impression too, Moto-san?"

That was a rather odd suggestion concerning the bon festival...still...Haruto did not participate because of his faith so maybe she was also uncomfortable to prepare it if they shared the same religion.

''Well she is your friend, Captain. I wonder what she would have planned for it though.'' She did not see the use of musing on the matter if the Yasuki didn't spill more beans. But on the subject of television.

''I thank you for your suggestion, Ma'am, though I think doing a watch party with friends would be better.'' she sighed, not wanting to be kept in doors for the last of her time here ''I do not know the Karo well enough to judge her character, captain, but I would assume for the better. Her training as an actress can be sensed, however''

"Not quite as peppy as she used to be from the days of Aoi48, but she is understandably mature now. It does feel like she has quite settled in her new role as karo now, however. A role I think suits her well, at least for now," she smiled on that note.

She looked at the time and tossed her plastic cup in the nearest receptacle. "But I unfortunately can't stay here too much look. It was really fun to get a look at a few of these network defence systems. Some of them are quite ingenious, others are adorable, quite the sensible chuckle."

"Have yourself a good afternoon, and thanks for the chat, Moto-san," she said with a small bow, then took her leave.
