(Expecting) Crabflix and Chill [Day 5, ME - Ochiba's place]

[Yoritomo Ochiba]

"Oh know, I am not disturbing The Cup." She said with a serious face. "Besides, no offense, but I think you would rather be hugging someone else then, me, no?" She stuck our her tongue in reply.

Very seriously. “We must not disturb the cup.”

On screen the harvesting had ended and now the bachelorettes are having a lunch where the Hriuma is the main subject of discussion. The decide seems to be between people who think he’s too traditional and others who think he’s just country.

“Weeeell there might be one or two. There’s this cute Kaiu I’ve been seeing. He’s super smart though, like maybe a genius? And then of course the governor… very huggable that one.”

[Yoritomo Yakura]

"Oh huh, which Kaiu? All of them are smart, you know. Seems like it at least." She smiled. One woman on the show was desperately saying to the camera I can break him.

"Darling, you should be trying to fixing him, not breaking him, or...you know what, whatever."

“Ryosei-san. He’s a flesh crafter and kinda… I dunno, like mature? But maybe not in a boring way. Like he enjoys reading and hiking and stuff? And there’s a little bit of sadness too. “He’s really hot thought, I should emphasise that.”
Sniggering at the show as half the other samurai are now fanning themselves as the belligerent Hida talks about her exceedingly, terrifyingly physical approach to love.

“Well she’s passionate at least… but I think he should make like a Hiruma and run.”

“Ryosei-san. He’s a flesh crafter and kinda… I dunno, like mature? But maybe not in a boring way. Like he enjoys reading and hiking and stuff? And there’s a little bit of sadness too. Something with his family I think? Dunno. I just wanted to jump his bones but then he’s wanted something more…still processing it all.”

Pause
“He’s really hot thought, I should emphasise that.”
Sniggering at the show as half the other samurai are now fanning themselves as the belligerent Hida talks about her exceedingly, terrifyingly physical approach to love.

"Oh, sounds like someone wants a hot daddy?"She poked her not at all a cousin in the side. "Look, don't tell me you wouldn't try the Great Carpenter Pose at least once." She sniggered. "Oh, by the way, while you're jumping Ryosei's bones, get him to support our bid, neh? We should try and do our jobs or something."

"That's not..." Pausing to take a deep quaff from the gigacup. "...I mean, there's more to it than that. He's decent, like genuinely decent. I think this island is getting to me." More drinking is done to try and counteract the evil island's effects before she looks up with a slight frown.

"Hey now, if bones are being jumped it's because I'm stunningly attractive and irresistible, bringing the bidding into it, I dunno. It just feels more ethical to win the usual way, with threats and bribery."

Meanwhile on the screen the principled Hiruma was explaining how his dear departed grandfather, after having built the wooden shiro he was born in with his own two hands, resisted threats and bribery to grow the family estate.

"That's not..." Pausing to take a deep quaff from the gigacup. "...I mean, there's more to it than that. He's decent, like genuinely decent. I think this island is getting to me." More drinking is done to try and counteract the evil island's effects before she looks up with a slight frown.

"Hey now, if bones are being jumped it's because I'm stunningly attractive and irresistible, bringing the bidding into it, I dunno. It just feels more ethical to win the usual way, with threats and bribery."

She let out a sigh, and saw the honorable Hiruma...bravely running away from the Hida, who was yelling about wanting cute babies.

"Not sure if staged or not. And I am not sure which is worse, if it's real or fake."

"Eth---ethical? YOU STOP USING THAT RIGHT NOW!" Yakura was shocked. O-chand and....ethics? She looked into the sake. "This stuff is stronger than I thought" She let out a breath. "Okay, okay, the normal way it is. Now who do I need to bribe?"

She let out a sigh, and saw the honorable Hiruma...bravely running away from the Hida, who was yelling about wanting cute babies.

"Not sure if staged or not. And I am not sure which is worse, if it's real or fake."

"I know...I'm shocked and disappointed in myself." Ochiba makes a face begging for forgiveness which is only slightly marred by shoveling more popcorn into her mouth.

"But he's doing cool science stuff and trusting me with it and-" rubbing her nose. "-you know, for some reason it feels wrong to take advantage. It's awful, this is how losers think. Next thing you know people are gonna be betraying me before I can betray them, just embarrassing. Maybe if I shoot some more giant lizards, but yeah I'll find some folks to bribe, at least with the Yasuki it's all very straightforward."

Her spirits are lifted a bit by the Hiruma making use of his famed family technique of 'running long distances' as the Hida chases.

"I'm really hoping real, I know fear and his expression-" she sniggers. "-Hehehehe. Well, he's the one who said he wanted a woman ready for a big family, just wasn't ready for them to be 6'4" I guess."

The show then advances in time a couple weeks, following each of the contestants as they live and work on the estate and detailing the rigours but also sometimes the beauty of the work.

"I swear I would shoot that damn rooster day 1, I think the Yasuki was almost going to, she was looking bloody murder."

"What, unlike if you adopt him as an...adult rooster?" Her eyes suddenly went wild as she saw the Toritaka....conduct tests on said rooster. "She...thinks it's been possessed by his grandfather's spirit? Not sure if that is insane or genius."

"You're right, the sake will help me think about it more clearly."
Still curled around the cup like a dragon, Ochiba lifts her head and starts gulping down more of the spirit.

"Everybody knows you test for possession sticking a prayer scroll to their forehead and seeing if it yellows. Dunno how she thinks meditation and all those circles are gonna be of any use."

Not that Ochiba can tear her eyes away from the screen.
"Okay, there's no way she can really 'sense a great presence'...it's a bird, she's got to be playing him."

I am not sure that really fits the spirit of the event....wait, that skirt is so cute! I mean, I wouldn't sit down in it, but you know, cute."

There is a cutaway scene to a Kaiu...building a fence. "Some things never change, eh?"

"I mean...the guy clearly loves his grandfather? This could be an angle, you know...Oh, they are doing a summoning...do you need a low cut top to commune with the spirits? I am not sure that really fits the spirit of the event....wait, that skirt is so cute! I mean, I wouldn't sit down in it, but you know, cute."

The Kaiu hammers her thumb and the censor is only barely up to bleep out some truly colourful language.

"...She's my favourite so far."

I think the dates are the next stage, the girls have to work out that their ideals ones would be...hmm, dunno. What do you reckon would work on this Hiruma? He's old fashioned so like...a picnic?"

Ochiba's eyebrows raise as she rubs her brow in thought.
"Or a...dance?"

"I bet I can guess which one got all dad's attention and which ones were in charge of raising all the others!"
Fierce sake drinking continues.

It was a long sip. There was some slurping involved.

"Meanwhile the Hida are...armwrestling over something? I missed that one."

She snakes a hand out and crunches some more popcorn.
"You know, I might need to buy a couple of the past seasons of this, it seems like the perfect thing to watch after a long shift."

Ochiba nods at the question, clearly fully engrossed.

"That is a reasonable way to go about it." She agreed. "And judging by dear bachelor's stare at them, either he is horrified or fascinated." She reached in as well...only to find it empty.

"POP CORN EMERGENCY? HOW ARE WE DOING WITH BOOZE?" She asked in a panic. "CAN YOU PAUSE IT SOMEWAY?"

"Oh shit, ain't no way we can continue without popcorn."
Ochiba scrambles for the remote, bouncing it around the couch before tramping it under a knee and hurriedly jamming the pause key several times until the shows shudders to a halt.

"Ooof, too close. They were just about to announce the dates too."
She consoles herself with another sip.

"I think we need a double top up, you handle the sake I'll handle the snacks? Are you a crisps or a nuts person?"

"Oh shit, ain't no way we can continue without popcorn."

Yakura went out and brought 2 bottles of shochu. "I found...pear tasted and classic? Which one? Or should I just mix? Eh, I'll mix?" She opened both bottles, and started pouring both into the cup. "It goes into one place in the end."

"And yes, whatever you have, I'll eat." SHe smirked. "Anything really." She did an exaggarated wink at the Mantis. "Kidding though.

"Booze sacrilege, but this show is also kind of entertainment sacrilege, so I think it works out."

Ochiba heads for the kitchen and returns with a large pack of spiced mixed nuts and little rice crackers shaped like crabs.
"I know you'd eat me out of house and home if I let you. Should probably make sure you leave here with a goody bag of snacks so you can make it back to your place without consuming any heimin."

The nuts and ripped open and placed next to the gigacup as Ochiba makes herself comfy against, this time opting for the lounge with her feet up on Yakura.

"Okay, shit I hope we didn't miss too much. But it was just about to be date week, the arm-wrestling was finishing up and folks had started fighting...man this show takes me back."

[Yoritomo Yakura]

"No such thing as booze sacrilage." She replied airly, placing her bowl of snacks on the proferred feet. "This is good. Is it the Spicy Crab Flakes? It's actually made from real Crab. Like...10% of it at least."

She watched the show. "We should've pitched this, with you as the bacholerette. Essential skills like looting, cursing, drinking and of course, prize shooting."

She let out a gurgle as the Toritaka was..."Did she exoricse her opponent with fire? IS that even allowed? I don't care! This show is great!"

She podnered as she chewed. Loudly. "I wonder if there is a Kuni version of this one."
