[Day 7, EM] More Exploration

[Kitsune Kiyoshi]

Kiyoshi returned to the volcano with the Detective. Carefully, they made their way to the small cave he had been shown the day before. The Fox had studied late into the night and had found a way he might be able to explore the way to the Soecial Place further.

"I'm going to go away for a bit." Kiyoshi told the monkey. ""I'll be back soon. If I'm not, leave."

He placed a small scroll in the pocket of the vest the Detective was wearing. If someone found it, they'd learn what he intended to do.

He took out his densai and began a new incantation. If it worked, tge earth would welcome him as water would. Once he felt ut take effect, he tried to enter tge dirt mound.

This spell allows the target to literally dive into the ground, which becomes as clear and easy to traverse as water for him. He can see for a distance of 100 yards through the earth, and can move through it in any direction as easily as though he were in normal air. The target can see through the edge of the earth into the normal world, but he cannot attack, cast spells, speak, hear, or otherwise interact with those outside the earth unless he emerges from the ground (at which point the spell immediately ends). If the spell ends while the target is still underground, the Earth spirits are offended by the target’s continued presence, and immediately expel him into the nearest open air, wherever that might be.

Kiyoshi does not have far to travel through the earth. The blockage is big, but not that big, and the path is actually gentle.

When he comes out, he is in a large chamber with a fairly large pool in it. There is enough moisture and warmth, and a certain amount of bioluminescent lighting on the walls. A few scattered sticks in nooks and crannies along the walls provide evidence of former jimen tori nests.

He took out a light and looked around. He examined the water and looked for the exit that had been mentioned.

The water is dark and deep, but lots of smaller shapes are visible in it; fish, probably. While it was a pool, it looked like there was some flow in it, the water stirring.

There aren't any other exits visible.

He set his conelantern down and took out his holorecorder. He recorded some footage of tge area and prepared to go back.
