Honestly, a lot of options. However, what's actually important is that Honoka walks Kaito and Sakae back into the kitchens. Speaking briefly and making aware of the plans to the nearest employee who then jots to the next one until it appears the whole kitchen staff is prepared to leave or stay or whatever made sense and worked. Once inside Honoka was clearly a bit uncomfortable in this space having not spent much time here. Finding a good enough seeming counter she would stop there and turn to those following her. Looking to either one of them to take the lead from here.

[Yasuki Kaito]

Kaito led the way for his filming crew and interviewer, taking a curious look at the place while he walked with his hands in his pockets. His eye went to the various cooking implements and the ingredients if they were visible, bobbing his head to give a few personal notes to himself.

"I'm always curious to see the inside of a restaurant kitchen. Again, really kind of you to nearly reserve the whole restaurant for us, Yasuki-sama. I'm pretty sure that Umiko-chan and Ayame-chan would appreciate the fact that nearly a whole kitchen is catering to them. A kitchen managed by a real restaurateur, too." He pointed out, as if to indirectly say, 'And not that circus that's going to be happening at Jade Chef'.

"Here's good," he said, indicating an angle where the kitchen could be seen, likely a flattering angle that also had the ingredients and cooking appliances in view. "Please, Yasuki-sama."

He would make various gestures for where the crew, hostess and interviewer could stand.


Yasuki Sakae

Sakae would nod at the signal and get right into the interview, getting right to the question once holorecording started... "Hello, Sunset Hour! I'm Yasuki Sakae, and this is Yasuki Honoka-sama of Crabkaku. Thank you so much for having us here today. Could you please start by telling us a little about your restaurant and how it came to be?"

Kaito was someone Honoka would glance to, but only briefly as her nerves kicked into high gear in front of the camera. Comporting herself well in front of the camera at least she hid the storm of anxiety raging inside her mind, "Thank you for your interest," she says, and looks to the camera. "Crabkaku came to be from the passion I felt toward this amazing species we make use of and live alongside every day. When I was younger I was always fascinated by crabs, and now that I am in the position to share this interest in a way that makes it accessible I thought what better way to do that than by helping people learn about them while enjoying the benefits they bring us."

Hiroto, of course, was nearby and ever present. While Kaito might be a good wordsmith his hands were not as keen, and the young yojimbo wasn't fully resigned to a cozy life without worry but was alert.

"And some of those benefits include their use as food and cuisine, correct?" Sakae chuckled. "Could you share a bit on how these ideas became the Crabkaku restaurant today?"

While it seemed that most people were indifferent to what was going on...Kaito was indeed doing something very suspicious. He had been using the distraction to meander casually around the kitchen like he was inspecting the place.

While his ulterior motives weren't detectable, his exterior actions were caught by the yojimbo. Kaito would be found in the cooking prep area, where they were making the food for both Umiko and Ayame. He would pull out a black vial from his pockets and get ready to sprinkle its contents before he was caught...

"Whoa! Hey! Easy! Easy!" He would call out in the background when he was caught by Hiroto red-handed.

"Of course, so you see-" Honoka's eyes dart over to the exchange brewing between Kaito and Hiroto.

Interposing himself between the dishes and Kaito, Hiroto would have appeared rather suddenly. Eyeing him with the greatest level of distrust. "Excuse me, Yasuki Kaito-sama, but I believe those dishes are quite attended for already," he says severely.

Honoka would excuse herself, "My apologies, excuse me," Honoka says looking to Sakae. Stepping away from the interview she would approach Kaito and Hiroto.

"What is going on here," she looks first to Hiroto to get a read on his demeanor. Which fuels her with the seriousness of the situation, "Yasuki Kaito-san? Would you please explain?"

There was a small gasp and murmur among the filming crew, a bit confused at what was happening. Sakae would merely step back and stand alongside the holorecorder-person. There was a bit of an internal debate on how to proceed with this situation. They could keep on shooting, maybe...

"Hey, so," he said as he pocketed the vial in his hand, potentially trying to find his excuse...or reasoning. "I might have gotten a bit ahead of myself here..."

"You know that show on the Silver Fin? 99.9% Courtier? Where he gets the impossible deals done because of his genius? But is a little eccentric? He keeps that small collection of sauces and spices around, and just has to fix around the dishes he gets because he's such a foodie or know-it-all with food? It kind of inspired me to do just that. I'm sure your cooks know what they're doing, but I felt that Ayame-chan and Umiko-chan needed that extra kick in their dish. Yeah." He nodded his head a few times at his reasoning and stood with his hands in his pocket, taking up his best straight face.

Honoka eyes him pensively, "I don't want to disbelieve you, Yasuki Kaito-san. However, I fear this was not a part of the arrangement I believed we had. Your methods, regardless of the faith they were taken in, are a rather.." she pauses for a breath, gathering her courage, ".. they are a rather grave insult to my hospitality and the work of those I entrust with food preparation."

Honoka would extend her hand, palm up, "But if you believe it will improve the food. May I see this sauce, Yasuki Kaito-san?"

Hiroto would now position himself over Honoka's shoulder. Casting his image in the background hovering over and protecting her. Lending what strength his presence provides to her requests. Beside her was the presence of the great weight and benefits of her lineage through the young Hiroto.

"The sauce?" Kaito said questioningly at first before snickering, feeling himself backed into a corner. "What, suddenly you're a cook too now?"

"I don't believe this..." He murmured with a shake of his head. There was a bit of seething anger that almost threatened to fly off the handle. However, he kept his cool for now, there was another card he could play, however unlikely.

"Could I have a moment of your time please...Yasuki-sama? Just you and me?" He said before glancing at the filming crew. "Hey! HEY! All of you, to take 5! Yasuki-sama are going to be talking about some changes here!"

Honoka frowns severely at the way he immediately responds. Feeling a rise of anger in her chest, she comports herself and exhales slowly with intent on it being less noticeable. Looking around the room she pauses briefly looking to Hiroto but continues on. With a simple gesture she grabs the attention of one of her cooks.

"Please leave the kitchen to Yasuki Kaito-san and I. He would appreciate the opportunity to renegotiate, and I wish to give him the appropriate privacy to do so," she says. Before the cook could walk away she stops him. "Oh, and do tell the others outside to take a small break as there may be a shift in plans. I do not want you all waiting on us needlessly and will send for them when they are needed. Thank you."

Honoka would allow time for her staff to depart, as well as that of the crew. All so that it would be left with just her, Kaito, and Hiroto in the room. Honoka would treat the moment as if Hiroto was not in the room, as was the case for many such talks. Presenting herself before Kaito she would look to him with expectation for him to begin to explain.

Kaito watched quietly as the crew and the staff departed. There was a bit of adrenaline that set into his system as he found himself only waiting until the very last person was seemingly out of earshot of their conversation.

"Look, Yasuki-sama," he said at first as he tried to present his case, speaking in a low tone in hopes that the intimate address would bring her into his line of reasoning. "I know that you think that you're very close with Umiko-chan and maybe Ayame-chan, but they are not very good people. I've known them and their family for a while, and you can't trust them."

"I'm just trying to take them down a peg, that's it, okay?" He admitted with a bit of stress bubbling through his demeanour. No risk, no reward, right? "Just a bit of filmed embarrassment to make sure that the public knows that they aren't all perfect or proper, that's all. Nobody is going to get hurt...for long."

He looked around and quickly cobbled up a backup plan...D. "If you think that this is going to come back to you, just blame it on the Scorpion, that should be pretty easy, right? Come on, Yasuki-sama, you've got to see that I'm being real with you here. Maybe we do a few of these together, take them down from the inside, we'll show everyone a thing or two about these people."

Honoka holds herself well, listening with intent to the many schemes of Kaito. While she listens something builds within her. Something she considers dark, and does not care for. Something she knows she didn't inherit from her mother, rage.

However, even with this deeply uncomfortable comfort with the force of rage she inherited from her father she is a woman tempered fully and wholly by the guiding presence of her mother. A woman who knew well how to bide her time. Which Honoka achieves such that when Kaito has finished speaking he has dug himself into a deep pit.

"I do see that you are being real with me here, Yasuki Kaito-san. For that you have my appreciation and respect; even if it is for perhaps the first time you have," she inhales, and exhales slow. "Perhaps there are samurai who can claim to hold someone in their heart when all they do is wish them ill, but I am not one of those pitiable souls."

"My wish is to be able to take the time and, point for point, explain to you the faults in not only your proposed plan, but your very aims. However, I regret to announce that I believe I have a few very important meetings that I now must attend. First most with our governor and karo, whom I owe many happy memories to. Then, depending on how that meeting goes I will next meet with Kuni Junpei whom I am long overdue for a proper introduction to."

It was hastily rushed gambit but Kaito felt almost sure that there would be at least a glimmer of doubt in Honoka to see some sliver of his plan here. "...Hah? What?"

"No, no, no," he said in a slight plea as things were slipping from his grasp. "Hold on, here, let's not get drastic here, Yasuki-sama..."

Shit! No, the cat was out of the bag here and she wasn't buying what he was selling, so to speak.

"Shit!" He would speak the same thoughtout loud and lash out by smacking off a stack of pots that were beside him. "FUCK!"

With that, he took the opportunity to storm out the back exit, kicking open the door and running right out.

When Kaito gets physically violent with a stack of pots the loud clattering sends a jolt through Honoka's system. Even now in her measured demeanor she winces terribly at the frightful sound. With a quickened beating of her heart she looks to Hiroto who meets her gaze and looks skyward as if to imply he didn't see anything. Allowing Honoka the opportunity to comport herself.

"Okay. Thank you, Yasuki Hiroto-san. Your service is ever admirable, and you do your family great service. I will be certain no one questions that," she says, edging back into a familiar warmth.

Clapping her hands in front of herself, "Okay! We must alert everyone to our change of plans."

With that declaration, Honoka would move to return to the main dining hall. Making her /exit
