[D6, LM] Looking for fantasy flight players (open)

[Kakita Haruhi]

Haruhi had really enjoyed the fantasy flight tournament, and the idea of learning more about how to play and potentially trading cards with other players appealed to her.

Though the con official events were over, many players were surely still around.

She posted a sign in several public places: "Fantasy Flight Fan Meet-Up for those still in town".

And then headed to the rented room for the meet-up. Hopeful that others would come!

She had arranged a brunch and tea for any who came, though that was carefully set on the far side of the room so folks could look at their decks on tables without risk of spills.

[Susumu Ami]

Susumu Ami held her deck box in her perfectly manicured hand. The slight chime of her many earrings adding to the presence as she entered the room.

"I'm sorry to have missed the tournament yesterday. I was glad to hear rumor of a casual play space." Her crimson lips were a sly smile, as she assessed the Crane as she entered. "I am Susumu Ami."

Haruhi smiled brightly at the woman, and gave a respectful bow.

She was dressed in a traditional blue kimono. She had only two decks of cards with her. One standard deck from the Chikushdo deck and one premium deck that someone had curated. Both were sitting in the original packing boxes, rather than any kind of organizing binder. Used perhaps once or twice at most?

"Susumu-san, it is a pleasure to meet you! I'm so glad you came. Have you played for a long time and collected lots of cards? I'm really just learning but I managed to make it to the 2nd round in the tournament. My little badger fought hard. I love the animal cards in the Chikushudo deck! I'm hoping to collect more."

[Susumu Ami]

"A pleasure, Kakita-san. If we're to play, please feel free to use my given name." She softened her tone as she returned the bow. "I wouldn't say a long time, but it is a hobby I enjoy. I've been rather fond of my Sakkaku Control deck for a long time." Her deck box opened, as she set it on the table. The cards all double sleeved with shenlong-shields in a matte Obsidian color backing.

"Congratulations on your success! I hope it continues the more you play."

[Kakita Haruhi]

"Oh those card protectors are nice! Do you mind giving a bit of advice to a new player before we play? I have these two decks now, and I'm really not sure how to combine them. They are both the new Chikushdo set. My instinct is to go for the prettiest art and most animals, but I tried that in the tournament, and it didn't work as well as playing either deck separately."

"Though that may have just been a bit of luck and the match up with the other deck. Kaiu-sama had cards that just whoosh all my cards kept going to the graveyard. I ran out of cards before I ran out of life. But it's a game ender either way."

[Susumu Ami]

"That's the secret. It's mostly luck." She winked, looking at the two decks. "You're limited by your deck limit, depending on the format. The main thing would be looking for things that have synergies between the two, and then removing things that run counter or make it harder to pull off." She tapped her finger against her lips.

"The other secret is spend koku on rare and high powered cards." Covering her mouth as she chuckled. "It sometimes comes down to who spent the most."

[Kakita Haruhi]

That made sense.

"Ah, I am tempted to spend koku! How do you know the right packs to buy? Do people ever sell specific cards? Like if I mainly want Chikshudo animal cards. Particularly the birds! Not so much for synergy, though that would be useful to better understand, but just because I like birds and it kind of mirrors a real life bird hunt that I am on. Collecting the cards."

[Susumu Ami]

"You can find reviews here and there. Some sets aren't viewed as worthwhile because they were smaller amounts of cards in the blind boosters, some are more valuable because they had a lot of good cards in their sets." She mused, watching the Crane very closely.

"And yes, there are independent sellers who will deal out singles. The prices wildly vary, but for collecting, it can be worth it. I hardly ever am concerned with price on anything I look for." She shrugged, and then found herself enjoying the Cranes sharing of her enjoyment.

"There's no wrong reason for collecting and playing any cards!"

[Kakita Haruhi]

"I shall hunt for the prettiest cards!" A happy grin. "If you have one to sell or trade, just let me know."

"Shall we play?"

"Give me a moment to look through these two decks for anything that sounds like a combo, like it belongs together."

[Susumu Ami]

"Of course. I didn't bring my full collection with me, just my favorite deck." Ami nodded, sitting down across from Haruhi. Her dark eyes focused on her, beginning to shuffle her deck.

"Take all the time you need, my dear. It's just a casual play for me."

[Kakita Haruhi]

Haruhi appears to be reading many of the cards for the first time. She starts putting them in stacks, based on what they do, and possibly one stack is just really great art.

Another question to make sure she has the right total number of cards in the combined deck.

She makes some decisions and ...
