Mount Jinsei is the smaller of the two mountains on Shiawase Island and is located on the east side of the island, on the side of where Tenjin Town sits. Unlike Mount Nakahama, Mount Jinsei is an extinct volcano that now sees significantly less thermal activity, allowing the peaceful landscape to flourish with lush vegetation. The collapsed crater of the mountain top is home to the serene Lake Ibuki, which hosts some particular breeds of freshwater fish. This side of the island finds itself with slightly cooler temperatures thanks to its local microclimate.
The top of the mountain is reachable only by a dirt road and hiking trail. Despite the caldera lake atop the mountain presenting itself as a beautiful attraction, it remains significantly less popular than the taller and majestic Mount Nakahama. The Mount Jinsei finds itself draped with fog at times, requiring a bit of caution and effort for the trip.
