The Kappa's Pond Tea House is situated past Friendship Street and toward the suburbs of the Upper City. It provides a close refuge for those wanting to escape the busy city lifestyle if they are willing to make the trek up a steep hill to get there, while also serving the locals and loyal customers. The main tea room provides an unobstructed view of the sea, just shy of dodging any of the tall structures of the lower city. There are also separate rooms and booths available for those who wish for more privacy. The tea menu here is admittedly mundane, only featuring locally grown tea with a few scarce offerings from the mainland. The coffee menu is meagre but equally popular. However, the dessert menu is the main attraction, offering turtle-shaped red bean pastries, wagashi, and elaborate parfaits.
The business is humble in many ways, only run by an elderly Yasuki couple, but their children usually take time away from their busy duties in the Lower City to pitch in. The tea house has become a fixture for many locals, so it's not uncommon to see some volunteers as staff during the busier seasons. The Golden Shell Pharmacy also quietly sponsors the business, keeping the near-historical community fixture afloat.
