Tetsu isn't a writer by trade but what he does know...is Engineering! Who doesn't want to have their fiction all about the real life facets of space travel made into a period piece, a "space western" so to speak. And it's...actually kind of compelling?

Tetsu doesn't really know actors...or acting, but central casting is more than happy to lend out someone begging for a shot, a young Unicorn by the name of Ju-Li Mao Ide. They're both young, they're motivated...and they're terrible. Tetsu can't direct and she can't act.

[Yasuki Honoka]

In a dark lit room the audience gathered, the screen blank. Then, it opens to a view of the ocean. Following, the screen moves to a shot of a small crustacean 'darting' through coral reef waters.

"The Opal Darter..."

The narration begins. His voice is immediately soothing as it strikes a distinct note.

"This small crab with its opalescent outer shell is one of the most elusive crustaceans in the waters of Green Carp."

From there on it was a full documentary on various species of crab living near Shiawase island. From Honoka's notes on further episodes in the series which could focus on different crabs from different planets. Going further to suggest they could even add other types of crustaceans in there as a treat once in a while.

Ultimately, though the show was well received largely due to the excellent casting that was not used to his full potential it would not likely be picked up for further episodes. Honoka hasn't expected, and really no one had, the potential of Hida Yattanburo. Due to this, unfortunately, there was a lot more they could have done off camera to really accentuate his performance that could have allowed him to properly shine. Surely Silver Fin Productions will be sure to correct this with his casting moving forward.

Show business is Crane Business. Hiroki was in his ELEMENT!!!!!

The Pitch . . . We're on an island, what do Island's have? Coasts!
What do coasts have? Beaches!
What do beaches have? SAND!
What needs sand? OSHIDAMA DOES!

And Thus was "Oshidama Days" born. A daytime 'drama' in the best escandalo fashion, but with added oshidama . . . and oshidama costumes.

Now "Oshidama Days" needed a star. A true STAR and for that Hiroki went to what the Crab do best. WRESTLE. So Hida Shiroyuki was hired to become the first wrestler/actor/oshidama star ever . . . well maybe ever, Ki-kun didn't bother checking if it had been done before. Let the Asako and Ikoma trawl through the archives, Kakita were all about HEADLINES.

Now direction was needed so Ki-kun donned his best director's beret, grabbed a megaphone . . . and a stepladder so he could see over the camera, and started directing! He was absolutely stupendous at it . . . much to his own surprise. He didn't forget the needed details like camera angles, lighting and the very important proper sounded clap every time the clapperboard was used. He even ordered retakes when he thought the clapperboard clap wasn't quite right. Some of the crew were more than a little surprised at the expert direction to the kidnapping/knife fight scene, wondering where in the galaxy did a Crane learn that?

But the true star of the show was Shiroyuki! He excelled in this role, translating wrestling skills into . . . well wrestling skills but in a drama. He was especially good in the absolutely necessary ESCANDALO betrayal scenes, and he played oshidama real well . . . oh my were those close ups good!!!

And he never even once . . . removed . . . his . . . wrestling . . . mask.

An instant award winner, thought Ki-kun. Absolute cinema.

[Asako Hikari]

Pitch a show for Crab TV? This was not something that Hikari expected that he would be called upon to do...it would seem the Crab really wanted a diverse set of interests pursued here. Hmm...what to do... Well, time to roll up the sleeves and get to work as it were.

Gaining access to Silver Fin's talent roster and potential talents, the Phoenix browsed quite a few, looking for someone that he could pair up with his burgeoning idea...and there we go! He waved over a studio member and pointed out a potential talent. A young Hida by the name of Iwa. The young actor was perfect! Hikari had them called and brought in for the pitch.

"We're going to go with a children's show...'Who Lives in Toshi Ranbo?' with young Iwa here. The premise is that this show will be a point of early connection for Crab Clan children to have a wider view of what is going on in the Empire, framed in an easy to understand way by having every day situations with members of other Clans. A sort of social primer to help know what they might expect. We can use bunraku-style puppets as the characters and when Iwa gets to be too old to convincingly play the part or gets reassigned, another child can be brought in as a replacement."

He gives a nod and begins directing the show, being perhaps a bit more hands on and focused than a usual director, but he wanted to make sure it was a good start for Iwa and to make sure everything went as planned. The pilot focused on a difficult interaction with a new friend who moved to Toshi Ranbo, a Crane girl. She was from another city and tried making everyone do things her way, but through empathy and understanding, Iwa helped her adjust to how things were in their neighborhood and resolved the personality clash!

It may not have been the most gripping, but it was certainly serviceable. Likely not going to draw a primetime slot either, but that was alright for Hikari. Iwa seemed like he fit the role naturally and perhaps something could be done in other programming slots!

The Dice were stacked against Susumu Ami as she made her pitch for a rather Scandalous TV show. Done in the high octane drama stylings of the Susumu Tele-Novels. Where everyone was hot, the extras were hot, and the leads?

They were icons of style and sex appeal. It was daring. It was bold. And with her quick tongue, she was able to secure the use of famed Crab Actor, Hida Hiroyuki. A stern man who had come to fame with his portrayal of a fictionalized Hida Kisada in an epic twelve part miniseries - Shogun.

Casting him as the male lead in this saucy little drama would certainly bring in fans of all stripes, and the rest of the cast were all equally attractive.

But after the pilot was demoed... the network decided it was best left as an unaired Pilot.

The event is closed.

It had been a busy day of filming as hired crews and actors followed each would-be producer slash director’s visions and instructions. Everyone worked tirelessly to finish a pitch and a sample product to show the executives of Silver Fin Productions. There were a lot of entries, which set the bar high when it came to finding the next show!

At the end of the day, it was determined that ABS, oshidama with escandalo, and romantic swordfighting immortals were the most trend-worthy products to be aired on the informator. Given their rather outlandish and flashy topics, they would be all too easy to fit into the upcoming lineup for Silver Fin Chill. Each of the producers involved would get their proper credits for their accepted show concept!

In a smaller victory, Silver Fin Production added to its catalogue of potential stars, diversifying their talent pool. While they didn’t have a show attached to them now, they could easily be slotted into other ideas in the future. Some showed great potential!
