Among the Crab Clan, Green Carp is considered one of the most treasured worlds under their dominion. When it was first discovered by the Imperial Explorers, Life on the world was primitive, with oceans covering most of the world and small patches of land hosting simple flora made of advanced algae. The planet showed much promise with a little terraforming work. The Crab Clan was quick to successfully petition their claim to the system, both for its resources and matters of security. The system was close to the system of Hiruma Prime, one of the Clan's key strongholds. The system would be given the name of Daikoku's Bounty and become one of the Clan's most important commerce worlds.
True to its name, the Green Carp today is famous for being a very green planet that is rich with lush tropical flora and supports a multitude of fauna. Most of the world enjoys warm weather throughout the year, known for its lush jungles found on its continents and islands. The land mass takes up about 35% of the planet, with much of the land found fragmented in the oceans to form a multitude of archipelagos surrounding the gigantic supercontinent, making up a majority of the mainland. While the world is renowned for its subtropical to tropical weather and jungles taking up most of the surface, more temperate land is much further north, and the Green Carp has two small polar ice caps.
While the world is renowned for its wilds, a portion of the world has been allocated for industry to make use of the surrounding bounty of bounty. Some of those industries include prized liquor, paper, cloth, farming, and even mineral refinement from some of the metals extracted from both the asteroid belt and the neighbouring Nezumi planet. Much of the world is still left untouched, not for altruistic reasons but because the Crab Clan continue to explore the world to this day, combing through the blooming wildlife and unlocking many new potential resources to be extracted. There is ongoing research in attempts to replicate some of the flora for commercial farming purposes, but some flora remain stubborn to be domesticated in large enough numbers to meet production minimums outside of the Green Carp. It is said the Crab Clan is constantly in debate with itself regarding the world's far future. Some enterprising individuals seek to eventually turn it into a world that would rival the World of Dreams, while others see more potential in maintaining the Green Carp's novelty as an idyllic world.
Much of the world's population favours settling along the mainland's coast and the surrounding islands. Shugenja are often kept on hand to ensure that the occasional unruly tidal waves never reach the centres of populations. It is not unheard of for some habitat neighbourhoods, even in the large metropolitan cities, not to be just a step away from the wilderness of the jungles. True to the Crab Clan's vigilant nature, a security perimeter is often maintained so that no deadly animals would ever find themselves in the common streets. Scattered throughout the world, the tropical islands often find themselves as the face of publicity when discussed in other systems. The Yasuki have capitalized on this and designated several provinces as resorts, bringing visitors from both within the Clan and without to enjoy Crab hospitality.
Green Carp has two moons, Kujira and Haya. Kujira is a sizable moon that orbits closely around the planet. It is responsible for the planet's sizable yearly waves and beach formations. The large moon is known for its faint blue tint, it has a thin atmosphere and occasional volcanic activity. Haya, meanwhile, orbits further away from the Green Carp and is almost oval in shape. The smaller moon has been theorized to have been a larger fragment that found its way to the planet from the neighbouring asteroid belt. The mineral research has made that a very likely possibility. Both moons are lifeless but maintain a number of outposts. Past the nearby asteroid belt, the closest neighbouring planet to the Green Carp is Nezumi. Nezumi itself is a terrestrial planet with a carbon-heavy atmosphere and mineral-rich surface where nearly all of the colonists reside underground, and much of the industry is focused on mining.
The Skycarp, a sizable orbitable station where most of the system's trade is conducted. For many visitors of the system, this is as close they will get to the Green Carp, with the station hosting all trade and business negotiations. Needless to say, the Crab maintain a large fleet surrounding the system, despite the system finding itself in a heavily defensible position in the quadrant with Hiruma Prime being closeby. Any attempts to endanger the rule over the system will be a wholly foolish endeavour.
Tango Province
The Tango Province is situated approximately 1,500 KM to the west of the mainland of the supercontinent, finding itself in a remote part of the ocean, with Aoihama being the closest major mainland city as a point of contact. The province is oceanic and an archipelago made up of five major islands, along with numerous other atolls and islets. In the early days of colonization of the planet, the Tango Province was the centre of education for the neighbouring oceanic provinces. Both the Hiruma Stingray's Sting Dojo and the Yasuki Radiant Scales Academy were founded here. After the other provinces were settled, the Tango Province would soon outgrow their original purpose, but it would continue to maintain their regional schools. The more prestigious schools are now found on the mainland.
Being close to the equator of the planet, the islands of the Tango province enjoy consistent warm weather all year round, which makes it an attractive resort territory for hosting diplomatic guests of the Crab Clan. It is a popular destination of choice for seasonal courts and business conferences among the Yasuki, making hospitality the key focus for the province's source of revenue. The province also hosts several small garrisons across many islands, typically used for training and hosting Crab samurai fulfilling their mandatory military service. Some view an assignment here to be a very comfortable post, and it's no surprise that some Crab parents with influence have pulled strings to have their heirs assigned here instead of somewhere more dangerous.
Shiawase Island
Shiawase Island is the largest of the Tango Province archipelago, and it is where the provincial capital is found in Nakahama City. Mount Nakahama is found in the centre of the island and is a dormant volcano with an abundance of thermal activity found throughout the island, hosting some distinct black sand beaches. The island is known for its natural hot springs spots, and despite the abundance of hot weather, the onsen still enjoy some popularity due to their rich mineral elements and invigorating properties. Mount Jinsei is a smaller island found to the East of the island, and Lake Ibuki sits at the mountain's crater top.
The weather on Shiawase is tropical with consistent temperatures ranging around 30°C throughout the year. The island is known to have some slight fluctuations in temperatures due to microclimates, with rain being an uncommon occurrence in some parts of the island. The rains can be intense at times in a short amount of time, before the sun returns at full force. Shiawase hosts a diverse biome with a large variety of planets and animals. There are only a few dangerous predators on the island, and some of the wildlife has been exported from Rokugan.
Nakahama City is the largest settlement on Shiawase Island, situated on the southern coast and neighbouring Shiro Ei, which maintains watch over the island as the defence garrison and the place of training for future bushi. It's not uncommon to see amphibious training exercises being performed on some mornings. The city is relatively small, especially compared to the other settlements found on the mainland supercontinent. Ever since the province's shift from education, it has put a large amount of investment in hospitality, ensuring that both visitors and inhabitants feel that they are in a much larger city. That said, some of the infrastructure has become outdated over time, but the locals stubbornly cling to the old ways, giving the city a bit of a retro charm.
Tenjin Town is found on the other side of Mount Nakahama, north of the island. The smaller settlement is more rural in comparison and has none of the amusements found in the glamorous city. Instead, the town's focus is on fishing and farming. While most of the farming is merely for the island, its fishing is plentiful enough to see its catches being exported throughout the Green Carp. Oyster, Tango Tuna and Diamond Shrimp are just a few of its catches that are in great demand throughout the Crab and beyond.
