[Party Informal Event, RP Thread] - Dress to Excess RP (Day 3 Mid-Evening, Harbourfront Penthouse)

[Shinjo Suh-Hyun]

Fancy Formalwear may have been mostly a figure who was mysterious and threw roses, but Akito... wasn't all that mysterious! He did have a few roses, though.

Still, smiling, he made his way over to his fellow SMC partygoer. "Right, I definitely recognize your character." He said. "It's... gosh, there were a lot of seasons..."

Then, smirking, he snapped. "Horse, right? That's one hell of a costume. Color me impressed."

"Of course, she's only one of the most popular villains in one of the best seasons by the two writers who saved the show! I'd be demanding you turn in your SMC fan card if you didn't." She smirked back. Though it was hard to tell if it was Suh-Hyun the person or Horse the character making the expression. Two little horse ears on her head, completely integrated into the wig, wiggled a little.

"I made it, well had it made...I'm not much of a tailor, for Fancon but Yoritomo through this party and I figured why not." The little horse ears moved to face Fancy Formalwear, like two little radar dishes.

She glanced around and leaned close, "I'm kind of new to these sorts of parties...do I introduce myself or do we have to stay mysterious?"

[Bayushi Senshuken]

While waiting for her drink, Ayame would perk up at the voice and turn her attention to the catty driver-motorist. She gave her outfit a quick look over with a smirk. It seemed like it could be a battle of the form-fitting jumpsuits unless... She let out a dramatic ojou laugh and gave her blonde hair a toss. "Why fight when we could love? Mm, Neko-chan? I think we could be capable of so much if we work together, my dear! With your driving skills and my...would-be marksmanship, we'll hit the target on time! They'll never know what hit 'em!"

"Oh!" The governess?! The Bayushi seems surprised when she faces the other woman but she's quick to hide it behind a smirk. She recovers shortly after and waves to the barman for shots. Then she chuckles and replies as softly as the music allows her.

"I promise to drive you crazy with my skills if you let me believe that I am your chosen target. I won't take cover, I'll take my chances. I won't shoot back, I'll just let you score. I'll drive us past reason, straight into your mark, if you just shoot a reason at me."

[Kitsuki Ichitaiyo]

Haruhi beamed at her friend.

"You are going to be the life of the party, Kitsuki-san! Wow! Such an inspiration."

The mask hid his expression a bit, but not entirely. The narrowing of his eyes as he caught the movement of the ears was visible, for instance. As was the hint of a smile as she leaned closer.

"That's up to you." He murmured back, his voice low. "We can introduce ourselves. Or we can remain mysteries." He bowed his head, spreading his arms, just like Fancy Formalwear would. "Which appeals to you more?"

[Agasha Sorato]

A large, flightless indigenous bird bobs past the drinks table. Since it has to push back the head piece to actually drink, at occasional intervals the head underneath the bird's is revealed to be that of Agasha Sorato.

Misfortune had been lurking at the party edge with everyone averting their gaze. But this big bird's luck had run out.

Taraka hobbled over to the bird.

"And I thought having to walk around with one shoe was hard. How did you get up the elevator?"" she asked.

"Oh, well, we couldn't have that!" Akito flashed her a grin. "I earned that fan card, and it cost me blood sweat and tears. Just ask the fellows from my unit..." he cleared his throat " 's...weekly viewing club."

"Mystery it is," She leaned back smiling in a self assured manner. "Perhaps we will meet again in the world outside the party and never know! AH HA HA HA HA."

Suh-Hyun was neither stupid nor socially awkward, but she could be naive. Taller than average, clearly not wearing lifts, fan of a character whose popularity was strongest in a certain clan, and of course not wearing anything that hid her facial features save hair and eye color... The Crab didn't need to be The Detective to solve this mystery in the wild.

While discursive asides on the jimen tori flocks' role in the island's ecology wouldn't be most attendee's most memorable moment of the night, there was an audience of one here, eager to hear more.

Akito paused a moment to let the Horse General finish neighing... errr, laughing. "Alright. Mystery it is then. That's good. I like mysteries." His identity might be a bit harder to figure out, although his features and build probably did look a bit familiar to the Unicorn; she had spoken with his older brother two nights ago, after all.

"But we don't have to be entirely mysterious." The Hiruma (or rather, Fancy Formalwear) said. "For instance, you might tell me what you're drinking. And then you might tell me what you like to do when you're not attending parties. Which is something I gather you don't do too often anyway." Fancy Formalwear had a very casually confident way of speaking; this clearly wasn't his first party. Nor, probably, his first drink; he took another sip.

[Yoritomo Ochiba]

Haruhi arrived and made her entrance, feeling very daring and cheeky with her bare shoulders. A good entrance!

She gave up a deep bow to the hostess.

"Yoritomo-sama, thank you so much for the invitation and encouragement. You look splendid! And this whole area. Wow! And karaoke! And the chocolate fountain! Oh this is so exciting!"

"I always deliver Kakita-san, especially about a party. I'm just glad you were able to make it. Big fan of the shoulders. But don't let me keep you."
She bows and wishes the Crane well at the party.

"Ochiba-san." And she even decided to forgo to recognize the Mantis' higher status.

"Oh my...how daring. This cannot be the Ichitaiyo-san I met yesterday, I don't believe she would ever be so bold."
With a smirk, Ochiba indulges in some shameless costume appreciation.
"I do hope you have fun tonight."

I don't believe we have met, no." The lower half of his face is still partly concealed by the suit's fluffy neck piece, but the corners of his eyes crinkle in evidence of a smile. "Studied, not properly. Admired, yes. I had an encounter with some yesterday."

The little ears popped up, "And I do party, but most formal," her eyes passover a fish man, "-ish parties I have been to were in uniform. And most normal parties were in mess halls on ship."

"As for fun, well I enjoy flying, running, and driving. Those dopey soap operas where the writers are clearly just pulling plots out of a hat. Watching the occasional SMC episode." Her ears perk up fully now and she grins, "I also have been known to dance on occasion."

"And so it shall." Akito turned to the bartender, raising a hand. "Drink for the la-... ah, for the General. Same as I'm having." He flashed her a quick smirk. "It's a local sake. Refined a little less than most commercial brands. Let me know if you enjoy it.

The bartender, bland-faced, slid a glass over the counter. Akito handed it to Suh-Hyun. "To mysteries." He said, raising his own glass and then sipping. "I guess I should share that I've been to my fair share of shipboard parties myself." Matching pieces in two different puzzles...

Akito's eyes narrowed. "Sounds like you enjoy going fast." He hesitated a moment. There was no good way to ask Say, are you a lesbian? Because if you are, I met this other gal... Clearing his throat, Akito smiled again. "It also sounds like maybe we should continue this conversation while dancing. Shall we?" He gestured out onto the dance floor.

[Suzume Hitomi]

"Oh the gold is upstairs in the master bathroom, must have cost a fortune getting it setup like that. Beats life on the ship any day."

Following Hitomi's gaze Ochiba chuckles. "It's chocolate that's been treated to be a little more liquidy without, you know, cooking the guests. If Suzume-san wishes to partake she is more than welcome. I mean, where else are you going to find a walk in chocolate fountain?"

"That's sensible. Well, as sensible as a walk-in chocolate fountain can be." She shakes her head. "Thanks for hosting this, it's a good chance for everyone to chat after running around with film crews all day."

She'll see the other guests arriving to greet the hostess and move to sample the chocolate with appropriate parting words, leaving behind the first of many bits of loose fabric as her waterfall began its slow creep toward drought season.

[Yasuki Taraka]

There was that Kakita unbending nature again. Taraka considered fighting for the Phoenix's attention, but if Haruhi wanted him to herself this badly, it was just better to bow out.

"I seem to need a refill, pleasure to meet you Asako-san. Enjoy the party, Kakita-san." she said, before moving off to the bar to replenish her non-existent drink.

She considered watching the Scorpion and the boobs drink hard and make bad decisions, but there seemed to be a waterfall back at the chocolate fountain, so once she acquired her drink, she wandered back over that way.

"That's a lovely costume, Suzume-san. You really do go all out for these things don't you?" she offered with a bow.

Looking up from the slightly complicated task of scooping a cup of chocolate without dripping it across floor or costume, Hitomi smiles to see a familiar face in the unfamiliar outfit. "Ah, Yasuki-sama! It's a bit last minute, and may not last the night, but I'm glad it's been enjoyed." She offers a small bow of greeting, ignoring a bit of fabric slipping to the floor and leaving it there as the next fountain-goer drips chocolate across it.

"You've done a great job with this one, I was about to ask what had happened, but..surely the cast is a prop, yes?" Looking the costume up and down she pauses, "but I'm not entirely sure what iconic accident it's all meant to convey. The rest of the outfit doesn't support iconic industry accidents." Missing hands were frequent in some of the factory trades where a lack of attention could see one mangled in the machinery.

"Ara, ara, Neko-chan..." The Sniper would say as she rested her chin atop the back of her hand in a wannabe sophisticated pose. "You sound like such an eager firecracker! I thought I was supposed to be one shooting my shot and not you. I love the enthusiasm. But I'm not quite sure what if I'm after the sort of target who wants to try a little hard? Isn't there at least some sort of chase to this, hm?"
