For the history of Nakahama City, the harbourfront has been famously known as the city's pride. The previous governor, Yasuki Keitaro and those before him have consistently invested a large sum of koku into constantly modernizing the harbourfront to have a skyline rivalling that found in Aoihama and the neighbouring island cities. While it is said that there was a contest that started long ago, it might have been that the governors of Nakahama wanted to appear more than just a small city in a mere island province. With Mount Nakahama looming in the distance of the buildings, it is difficult for most cities to match the quality of the view. The first settlements on the island were founded on the harbourfront, but very few of those buildings have remained standing to this day, as the cityscape sees constant improvement.

True to the historical commitment of all governors of the province, the harbourfront appears to be slick and modern. It features a combination of sculpted cementwork and quaint wooden walkways that are found closer to the water. Yachts and other watersport crafts are often visible on the water at most times of the day, with the occasional navy gunboat making a passing patrol. The skyline is even more impressive at night: the streets light up with numerous neon signs advertising products from the larger businesses, such as the latest drinks from Kinsenka Breweries and the ever-present Uomoto Company running man. Beyond the wall of tall corporate offices and expensive condo buildings, the facade of the harbourfront ends and the city becomes more humble in comparison.

Location rules: When making a thread in this location, please indicate if the thread takes place in the streets or at one of the sublocations listed below. While the Harbourfront is an exception to the 'one thread at one location at a given time slot' rule, the sublocations are not. Thus, when drafting your thread, please check that the sublocation is not booked already.

The harbourfront is home to several attractions that appeal to both locals and visitors alike.

The Nakahama Koku
It is hard to miss the towering Ferris wheel that has become a stoic fixture in the famous Nakahama skyline since it was built more than a century ago. For its circular shape, it was quickly dubbed the 'Nakahama Koku' and kept the name over the decades. At nighttime, the wheel would light up with various colours and is consistently popular, often with courting couples who are looking for some relative privacy. There have been some wild rumours that the Ferris wheel has been blessed by local monks to ensure all who ride it will find future prosperity. The ride offers a scenic view of the Harbourfront, and its rotation is perfectly timed to a one-hour ride.

Nishi Beach
Nishi Beach is located within the area of the Harbourfront and finds itself massively popular with the locals. Anytime the weather is decent enough, the brown-sand beach can find itself packed to near capacity. The beach is notably small, especially compared to the many other offerings on the island. However, the appeal of a beach in downtown Nakahama is too great for many, regardless of how mundane and pedestrian it may be. With the influx of recent guests, there has been stepped-up time enforcement for the locals of the city (mainly for the heimen).

Yuta Records, Flagship Store and Corporate Headquarters
Despite the fact that most of the Empire favours smaller and more portable means of keeping their music, the old-fashioned technology of records and tapes is still popular with the island provinces of the Green Carp. It is not unheard of that decades-old, or sometimes centuries-old, songs are still cherished by the population for their retro appeal. Yuta Records and its multiple chains have been maintaining the banner of the retro music trend for many generations. Its headquarters are found at its flagship store on the front street of Nakahama City. It is hard to miss the multi-level store with its large neon sign, with the twin spinning records on display, and its shameless blaring of old enka and city pop hits being broadcast to the streets. Yuta Records continues its modern-day relevance as a novelty store for the classics, with the occasional modern music being formatted to sell in old-fashioned tapes and records.

10 Zeni Coin Stands
The 10 Zeni Coin is a famous snack that found its start on the Green Carp in the city of Aoihama, and has now found popularity across many systems beyond the Crab Clan. The snack is much like taiyaki, except it is in the shape of a 10 zeni coin and often overstuffed with either custard, red bean and sometimes the odd cheese filling. The popularity has only encouraged an oversaturation of competition, overtaking many ebiyaki and taiyaki stands, but now the novelty has simmered down. However, it's still not too difficult to find a snack stand selling the famous 10 Zeni Coin, especially when the current selling point is the opportunity to take a picture next to the Nakahama Koku with the snack in hand as a selling point for visitors.

Sango Station
Sango Station is the busiest central hub on the whole island, merging the central station for both the local buses and the ferries. The station had been plagued with construction for more than a decade as they've attempted multiple attempts to install the addition of the monorail, all while not disrupting the existing transportation lines. Thankfully, the construction had been finished in the last few months without major issues, alongside its now spherical building exterior. Public transportation is used by both heimen and samurai alike, although the latter typically has priority seating and access to spacious luxury cars. Some popular routes include Namigashira Bay and Tenjin Town.
