(Expecting) Storming Forward [LM, Day 12]

"Maybe, but following the path without veering is the real test." Ichitaiyo replied, lowering her arm solemnly and surprised it wasn't scratched.

"One can know many things, but without application it is useless." Beat. "Ironic for a Dragon of all people to say it."

Then turned back to her friend. "I wouldn't be here without you, Ochiba. I have a debt to you." And raised a finger before any objections could be brought up. "You can cash it in something banal, like babysitter duties. Think of how many amusing situations you can put me in."

"If you know something and don't actually use it...do you really know it?"
Pause.
"...Hmmm, well I guess nerds do, still interesting question."

Ochiba grins at Ichitaiyo.
"Well, if there ever are any babysitter duties which I'm hoping none pop up spontaneously, you'll be the first to know. I think I can find something more suited to your talents though, like sailing through a storm."
She sniggers.

"But really, don't worry about it. I was just happy to invest in a good thing. The odd story of your adventures now and then would be more than enough."

Ochiba hold up her fist for a bump.
"To amusing situations past, present and into the future?"

"...Hmmm, well I guess nerds do, still interesting question."

Ochiba grins at Ichitaiyo.
"Well, if there ever are any babysitter duties which I'm hoping none pop up spontaneously, you'll be the first to know. I think I can find something more suited to your talents though, like sailing through a storm."

And the bump was met, unlike the first time it was offered nine days ago, a small rumble of thunder echoing at the distance the moment that knuckle hit knuckle in found friendship.

"And to us becoming also a little wiser in the process." She added like the nerd she couldn't avoid being. "I hope you and Ryosei turn well, enjoy each other. Keep me updated too. Maybe we can go in double dates."

"Now, I'm hungover as hell, and I could use laying sooner than later, specially if we have to take off tomorrow first thing in the morning. And I gotta spend my few temporal last moments with Nagisa."
