[Day 11 - Early Afternoon, Muri Donbori] Living It Up (Open)

[Kaiu Nagisa]

“I have not had the chance to visit lately. I might have to treat myself…” She really could use a soak, she feels tension between her shoulder blades again from all the sitting over the warimono shells and filling them all day. “I honestly need to take better care of myself in that regard. I don’t usually take time to wind down.”

The Kaiu lets out a sigh, despite her good sleep last light, she knows that it’s only a matter of time before her next restless night. “Might be why I have trouble turning my brain off at night.”

"Their spa attendants provide very good massages, Nagisa-san, really it will be great for you," Kanna nodded seriously. "Stiff muscles make it harder to fall asleep at night, so that goes to the brain too, and then you don't sleep well and your muscles continue to be stiff! An evil circle!"

As ever, Kanna wanted to be helpful for people, especially her friend. "I'd be happy to teach you some stretches that help with stiff muscles, and meditation exercises that help you relax in the evening."

[Kuni Junpei]

After the orders were inputted, Junpei would be happy to replace the densai back in its charging station. While the screen was idle, it would play all sorts of ads relating to the restaurant on a loop. They would include celebrity endorsements, like from wrestlers and the top members of Aoi48, or showcase where their rice was harvested from, and their long-storied history. It was all extraneous, given that they were all already customers of the restaurant, but it was perhaps to add some 'value' that they've chosen the best! place to sate their hunger.

It's not impossible! It's Muri Donbori!

Junpei would sit back comfortably in his seat, lacing his fingers together. "Ah, the Natsuzora...I recall the resort to be very exclusive last time that I was here, like they would reserve only the facilities for hotel guests. I only found out that they provide day passes when I was gifted one by Yasuki Honoka-san! Speaking of, I should likely make use of it sometime soon. The water kami does wonders on wounds, but only prolonged care can fully rehabilitate you. Still, self-care should be normalized as routine, rather than only in times of need."

The Kaiu offers a thankful smile to the Dragon, “I would love some instruction on such techniques. Thank you for such a generous offer and also for sending Agasha Sorato-san my way. He was able to help me quite a bit yesterday with the fireworks. He even let me see his brother-in-law’s personal recipes and patterns.”

Junpei speaking up catches Nagisa’s attention, especially at the mention of her friend. “The only time I have been to Natsuzora has actually been as a guest of Yasuki Honoka-sama’s. She’s a very generous woman.”

"Sorato-san is amazing, neh? He knows so much stuff, and as an Agasha I was certain he knew something about the old knowledge of his family's hanabi. I'm so glad I was right!"

Delighted with these news, she took a sip of her... hot-leaf juice? That was unexpected. Oh well, it wasn't bad! And it would be rude to scoff at a free lunch!

"Honoka-sama truly is amazing," Kanna nodded, her smile wide as they mentioned the crab-fascinated woman. "And yes, self-care should absolutely be a normal part of someone's daily routine, I think! We can better work and do our duties when we are rested and cared for - like my pa will say: a neglected tree won't reach its full potential the same way as a nurtured tree. I'm pretty sure he's talking about bonsai when he says that."

Actually, a bonsai tree is cultivated and controlled through mastery of the art to maintain a stunted form. While it is certainly nurtured in many ways, it might be a bit debatable on whether or not that tree would reach full potential when the art is to prevent the tree from growing in many ways.

"...Wise words to live by, Tamori-san," he said before taking a sip of the tea, which was self-served in cheap and tall plastic cups. At least, it was all you could drink. "Had I met you sooner, a shugenja such as yourself might have convinced me to truly follow that bit of wisdom. I've been terrible at self-care as of late, I'll admit, despite what I said earlier. There were many days where my only source of invigoration was the herbal energy tonics from the Golden Shell Pharmacy and an ice cold shower. I should, and most importantly, finally can, do better."

"Oh no, those aren't good for you," Kanna gave a shake of her head, "energy tonics only give a brief burst of energy, but leaves you plummeting hard once the initial effects wear off - which makes you drink more and that's bad for your body!" Her more intelligent siblings or parents would point out how it was bad for the liver and heart, and other organs, whereas Kanna mostly just remembered it being 'bad'.

Another sip of the hot-leaf juice. "But! We did meet earlier! At Ochiba-san's party. Remember? You showed up with your yoriki?"

[Kuni Junpei]

"That's right," he said, recalling the small anglerfish that popped out of nowhere when the Yoritomo mentioned that her event was supposedly religiously based. Quite dubious! Fortunately for her, the governor made sure to shuffle that sort of business away. It was quite a bind to be in, considering it was the karo who called the noise complaint...Attending to noise complaints was often very much below his standing.

He let out a small sigh. "But unfortunately, we didn't get the chance to truly talk, much less gather your verbal testimony at the time. You are right about that, despite the tonics doing their best to highlight their 'all-natural', 'healthy', and 'herbal' properties...It has put me on edge and sometimes in a foul mood. Sorry if the party didn't give me the best of first impressions. After a night's sleep, and away from them, I can already feel a noticeable improvement! I'm sure it'll take a few weeks of rehabilitation before I have a sliver of a chance to even be as chipper as yourself, Tamori-san."

"Sounds like the past two weeks have been very stressful for you, Kuni-sama," Kanna felt some sympathy for him, especially since she had probably contributed to the amount of paperwork. "I didn't know all these visitors for the governor's event created that much work for the magistrate's office."

[Kuni Junpei]

Junpei smiled faintly and waved a hand to dismiss any concerns that Kanna might have on the matter. "Not at all, Tamori-san, nothing entirely of your doing in the slightest. If anything, this sort of work is a sign of prosperity, and if the governor is successful in her plans, then this is merely just a sample of things to come. Besides, I know that the karo alleviated some of the workload by offering a tax break on some of the businesses here for the duration of the event, especially seeing as how the visitors here will be boosting their revenue. Sure, less revenue for the government, but it quickly won over some of the businesses that might be set more in their old ways."

"That said, we could always use another office on the island to juggle the future workload, perhaps one in Tenjin Town," he said, considering the old Temple of Light warehouse. Well, it was perhaps too presumptuous of the temple's future.
