[D9, MA] Showing the birds the way (expecting)

[Kitsune Kiyoshi]

"Excellent. We will now show you the way." he explained to the jimen tori. "I may lose my ability to communicate with you. But, if you follow me and my flock, you will know when you reach the Special Place with lots of fish."

[Hatoful GM]

"Oh, how exciting! The Special Place! Here we go!" The jimen tori made the trumpeting noise once more, and the rest of the flock fell in behind them.

[Kakita Haruhi]

Haruhi took lots of footage of the birds as they walked along.

She turned to the others. "We did it! We really did it! I'm so happy."

[Susumu Sumiko]

"I don't think anyone would believe us if we said we lead birds back to a nesting place on a Crab world if there wasn't video evidence Kakita-sama" Sumiko replied with a chuckle as she walked "truly a sign of what can be done if everyone works together."

[Kitsune Kiyoshi]

"There are a number of things we've done that I doubt many would believe, Susumu-san." Kiyoshi grinned.

[Susumu Sumiko]

"That's also true" Sumiko laughed "maybe we should make a career out of this Kitsune-sama. Just travelling to different worlds and saving the animal populations."

[Kitsune Kiyoshi]

"That could be a show." he mused. "Susumu Sumiko, Species Saver."

[Kakita Haruhi]

"I'd love that! I'd definitely watch. And come visit the birds saved for making avi-drones to raise their profile and maybe help donate to the cause with each drone sold."

She grinned.

[Agasha Sorato]

"Jimen tori are rather charismatic," Sorato muses as the crew (of birds and humans) climbs onward. "Easy enough to attract an audience with animals like them. I knew a Shiba on the homeworld whose brother was making holos like that. Manatees on Old Rokugan, arboreal cephalopods on Dawn, those kinds of fauna. Very enthusiastic fellow." He ducks a branch. "Last I heard, he'd married into the Kitsune, actually."

[Susumu Sumiko]

"Maybe I should consider that as a career path Kitsune-sama. I travel the stars enough" Sumiko laughed "this would make my third planet of being involved in this kinda thing after all."

There was a small nod towards Sorato.

"Hai extremely charismatic. Risky though, makes them easier to bait. They'll likely need careful watching and managing to ensure no bad agents try to trap them once they're back at an easier to locate nesting spot."

[Kitsune Kiyoshi]

"Hopefully, they'll be excluded from future hunts and the Special Place will be protected." Kiyoshi said. "There's not much more we can fo really."

He kept an eye on the flock as they approached the entrance to the tunnels.

[Kakita Haruhi]

Haruhi nodded.

"Hopefully the video footage of the jimen tori enjoying the special place will charm folks enough that more will advocate to see them undisturbed. And they will never be hunted again!"

"Except maybe shoppers hunting for plushies and t-shirts."

"I think I can get an avi-drone jimen tori built in a couple days that can walk around, play the recording of the 'follow me' and guide any remaining jimen tori so they know where to go."

[Kitsune Kiyoshi]

"Even if you can't, the other flocks will figure it out in time." He assured her.

He watched the jimen tori make their way in. "I can't wait to see their reaction."

[Susumu Sumiko]

"From my experience that can inspire folks to want to see it in person. So hopefully it can also be blocked from people entering" Sumiko mused thoughtfully, before adding "Oh the drone sounds like a really clever idea! It should be able to reach the birds easier than a bunch of samurai trekking through the mud getting their attention."

[Kakita Haruhi]

"And the drone can walk the circuit for days and days. I think it will get their attention. Even ones that are a bit scared might follow it out of curiosity."

[Kitsune Kiyoshi]

"Hopefully, some additional measures will be taken to make this area more secure. But, but that is another reason to put up some live feed cameras around the area." he suggested.

[Agasha Sorato]

"And the drone can walk the circuit for days and days. I think it will get their attention. Even ones that are a bit scared might follow it out of curiosity."

"They don't seem to scare easily," Sorato says, lips quirking. "Not a lot of predators besides the lizards and humans, and not very many humans at that. I think your drone promises to be really successful."

He extracts a kerchief from his shirt pocket and dries the sheen of sweat from his face, again. As usual, hiking Mt. Nakahama is a sticky business, especially if you're not wearing a temperator. That doesn't really bother him, but it's more pleasant not to have salt running into his eyes.

He nods at Kiyoshi's suggestion. "The proposal we had approved--that mentioned the cameras, didn't it?"

[Kakita Haruhi]

"Yes, our proposal included cameras inside the special place. We didn't specify cameras on the route to the special place, but the wording was vague enough that I'm sure that could be included."

"Generally, if a camera is going to cover a public area where people might walk as well as the birds, you'd just have to honor local privacy ordinances. Usually that's video only. No audio."
