The morning is ushered in by a rumble, not from the skies but coming from Mount Nakahama. Some smoke appears from its peak, but ultimately, the mountain is tamed by the local shugenja from acting up. Only those who venture past the restricted zone will be able to see some obvious volcanic activity venting from the mountain.

Overall, the day is pleasant and ushers many outdoors to enjoy its warmth. The heat proves to be higher than normal, especially with a lingering humidity in the air that might catch people off guard. As the day moves to the evening, clouds begin to gather in the skies at an alarming rate, and rain soon descends on the island. This rain lasts until the late evening, and the skies clear to reveal a full moon from Kujira. Many locals take to the streets to admire the blue-tinted moon and share drinks.

The commercial begins with a black and white shot of a dark alley. A man wearing a trenchcoat and a hat, looking very much like a detective, walks slowly through it. He carries a package under his arm.

Detective's Voice Over: "I knew I was getting in too deep."

Suddenly, in slow motion, laser fire cuts through the air, striking the concrete wall to his side. He ducks, his hand darting into his trenchcoat, pulling out a pistol. He returns fire at a target off-camera. The view switches to show a woman wearing a tight catsuit, her head covered by a dark hood, holding a pistol. She runs forward.

The camera focuses on the package, still in slow motion, tumbling through the air.

Detective's Voice over: "I knew I'd have to go even deeper if I wanted answers."

The detective lunges, diving forward. His free hand reaches out. The camera focuses on his hands, straining towards the package, coming up just short. A gloved hand reached down, grabbing the package.

Detective's Voice over: "I didn't know that I was going to have to..."

The camera zooms quickly in on the woman's head. She reaches up with her free hand, pulling off her hood, revealing her beautiful smiling face.

Jazzy Male Voice Over: "SHINE"

Music begins to play. Suddenly, the woman is color, revealing that she is wearing red lipstick. Her teeth, revealed by her smile, are EXTREMELY white.

Jazzy Male Voice Over: "SHINE"

The camera switches back to the man, also now in color. He looks up at the woman. After a moment, a wry smirk spreads across his lips.

The camera switches back to just the woman's smiling mouth, a close-up of red lipstick and white teeth.
Woman: "SHINE"
She says, her tone sultry, teeth flashing.

The commercial goes to black. A moment passes, then words appear on the screen.

Tango also raced ahead with the Shiawase Rally. Battle Carps' Yasuki Taraka joined Bayushi Senshuken for a mad fast run, yo!

For this journey into speed, Taraka had had to get some new clothes made. The style was very similar to Shensuken's, though her colors were dark blue-gray with red highlights. And a large logo on the back of a golden flying carp with the banner, "Flying Battle Carps". She wasn't a mechanic by trade, but she'd studied more than a little bit of mechanical things to better understand her family's business. And if this was the price to be paid to zoom around the island in the Scorpion's rocket car, so be it!

They cross the finish line without knowing if someone else has also done so already. The Scorpion gets out of the car, red rose in hands, opens the shade of her helmet and smirks to the camera while bringing the flower close to her nose to take the scent in.

"Engines roar, hips sway
Greatshark hunter licks her lips
Bite me kindly, please"

She recites. A declaration for those that can figure it out.

A letter finds its way to a public space in Hanei Tower. It is addressed to:

It is handwritten, in the traditional style, not typed. Deep blue ink on crimson paper of excellent quality has been used. A red rose is attached to the letter which carries the scent of jasmine. Upon unfolding the paper, it reads:

Hunter stalks the cat
Her tail says 'Catch me, darling'
Both run. Both chase back

Yasuki 1: "Hey, you hear about what the Governor did this time? Geez, I tell, you, maybe she-"
Yasuki 2: "Shut your mouth!"
Yasuki 1: "Excuse me?"
Yasuki 2: "I'm tired of hearing people criticize the Governor for every little thing."

Kuni Asataka

The old Kuni magistrate was bloodied and bound to a chair, having endured quite a beating by his captors. The pain muddled his senses while his mind tried to draw him away to another reality for the sake of his sanity. He could barely remember how he got here, much less where he was. An old shed of sorts, perhaps the same sort here, the Kuni of old would conduct their interrogations, out of sight from proper samurai, or even their experiments. His breathing was laboured to the point of wheezing. That wasn't all, he had yet to take into account the bruises, internal bleeding, and broken bones. Things were looking grim for him, but still, he refused to give up and clung to life.

The door to the shed would open, and a group of people would walk in, surrounding the chair and blocking the exit. At that point, even if they let the Kuni go, it was unlikely that he could get far on his own.

"We've done our best to convince you, Kuni-sama," the leader of the group would say a touch remorsefully. "I've supplied my best negotiators, and they've nearly exhausted every tool in the book. You're just a stubborn man, but then again, I shouldn't have expected less from you."

The figure would crouch down so that they could put themselves in Asataka's field of vision. "Unfortunately, there isn't much of an argument left we can present on our side, and I believe that the Heavens will have to make their judgment soon. So, I will present this generous deal to you once more. Will you look the other way, or are you so keen on stopping us?"

"Go...fuck...yourself," the old Kuni would manage to say in between shallow breaths with some blood spittle.

The figure stood upright and let out a sigh as a gloved hand futilely brushed aside the blood on their cloak. "That's so unfortunate, Kuni-sama. I was really hoping you'd see it our way. I don't give chances to many people. You could have retired comfortably, but instead, you will be missed around here."
