[D5 MA - Boardwalk, Beach, and Ferris Wheel (expecting)

[Kakita Haruhi]

She smiled.

"I'm close to my father, too." It felt like a piece of the connection between them. One small piece of the magnetism slightly better understood.

"Speaking of duty, if the Scorpion are the successful bidders to become the primary trading partner here... do you think you might remain?"

[Bayushi Senshuken]

She shrugs and says nothing for a few moments.

"Perhaps. I cannot expand on this for now." She only replies.

[Kakita Haruhi]

Haruhi nodded.

"I understand. Just ... I am full of dreams about you. If ... ah, I have no idea how I could do anything to encourage you to stay. And ... it is not my place."

[Bayushi Senshuken]

"Will you get a more permanent assignment here?" She asks.

[Kakita Haruhi]

"My current assignment here is expected to last several years. It just depends on the whim of my patron Yasuki Reina-sama. There are many many local birds to find and catalog, and make schematics, and then build up a warehouse of avi-drones of the types needed to match demand. Depending on interest, it may be a permanent role. But certainly for awhile. Until a major change in my duty. Like a marriage. But there is nothing of that kind in the works to my knowledge."

She paused, and then added:

"The Crane are interested in Nakahama, but unlikely to emerge the primary trading partner. But perhaps will be interested in those who do take on that role."

[Bayushi Senshuken]

"Well, it is us who will take that role." She replies with confidence. "I have not seen any Crane interest though. Other clans seem eager to plan ahead for the future. Partnerships are not built in a date. Especially if one gets into the game last." She comments.

"Do you like the place? As a more permanent residence and not just for a few days thing?"

[Kakita Haruhi]

She smiled. Glad for her confidence. It was one of the things she loved about her.

But then she thought about her words and bit her lip. "Oh. I ... I was just fantasizing about you and me. What might excite my parents in a letter. I ... I didn't mean to give the impression I was trying to turn our date into some business meeting."

"I think I am being an idiot to think about the future. I could be here. In this beautiful gondola with this beautiful view with the woman I love. Taking advantage of this chance for conversation, yes, but also I had other thoughts! Kissing thoughts!"

"I do like it here. I've never had the duty to participate in leisure activities before. It is intoxicating. This place seems like the loveliest vacation resort imaginable. Maybe it is different to live here. But I think I will enjoy my time here. As long as I can stay."

Senshuken tilts her head and smirks mischievously before leaning closer to whisper to her ear, her breath fully felt against the soft skin in Haruhi’s neck. "It feels like my ancestral duty to steal as many kisses as I can, like a proper villain." Her lips slightly brush her ear. "And a personal quest of outmost significance to make certain that you have the time of your life when we are together. Like a proper lover." Perhaps this will put a pause to the confession containing the big L word. It is so soon for that.

Much kissing followed.

Haruhi was greatly distracted, entirely breathless, and slightly disheveled by the time they reached the end of the ride.

She glanced at Senshu to see if she seemed happy. A long lingering look.

"Now I promised mochi, and I look forward to seeing you pick your favorite flavor from the best mochi shop in town."

[Bayushi Senshuken]

"I can't wait for the mochi, my sweet sweet... mochi!" She grins to her. "My favorite flavor is the one you will pick for me. Perhaps the one that you will feed me with so that I can taste both the mochi and your fingertips." She winks to her playfully.

[Kakita Haruhi]

Haruhi grinned.

"Ah, I am very much looking forward to that. And ... now I think mochi may need to factor on another date where we are very much alone so we can test the taste of mochi on the wrist, on the neck, on ..."

She blushes.

"But for now... I hear yuzu with black bean filling is supposed to be a specialty."

She feels a chill running down her spine and beams a broad smile. "I have quite the appetite for mochi out of the sudden. Any flavor, any..." She scratches the back of her head. "Just any."

She walks next to Haruhi in silence for a few moments. "You know what." A pause. "Tell me something. Anything to distract me from thinking how beautiful, charismatic, talented and hot you are."

Haruhi flushed at the compliment. Oh!

"I've been researching bike and vehicle repair," she volunteered. "It's related to drone engineering, but different. But I thought it would be fun to know more about racing. All that matters. How to make the vehicle go faster. And be safer. Should there ever be a version of the drone racing that permits modifications to the model, I have some ideas for Sky Blue."

[Bayushi Senshuken]

"Goodness! That's so sweet! Well, if you do because, you know, the two of us. I have only studied the basics, but I do own a company in the field. It's more of a testing lab and a website for now, but we do have a new alloy that might do wonders in motor production. We are testing pistons that can fuction in higher temperature and pressure. Without breaking that is."

[Kakita Haruhi]

"Oh I'd love to chat more about that. It's a new area for me, but I'm seeing how much of engineering is the same skills and principles, but it's all about the nuance of the application. Understand the options. The variable you can manage."

"Higher temperature and pressure could help a vehicle burn hotter and go faster for that reason."

"It could also be useful in surveillance applications. Scouting a volcano, for example. Or deep under the water."

"What's the name of your company?"

[Bayushi Senshuken]

"Yes, I suppose, but the market for that is significantly smaller." She comments. "People are more interested in increased torque and horsepower in their vehicles. We are still testing the alloy, but I can say that the results are pretty good so far!"

Her gaze goes to Haruhi and she grins. "Silent Edge Gearworks. The name needs work, I have to admit."

[Kakita Haruhi]

"It sounds really interesting. Where is the business headquartered? I assume there is a physical lab somewhere?"

A gentle smile at the name. "I think that's a fine name, though it brings up the question of demand for very very quiet engines also. Stealth mode? Could the alloy help with that as well?"

[Bayushi Senshuken]

She shakes her head. "No. No. They are as loud as it gets." A smirk. "Silly name, I told you. I didn't have the time to think really. I got this assignement and before I knew it, I had to deal with such paperwork for the patent and have a website set and running. The actual lab where everything happens is back home, in the World of Dreams."

[Kakita Haruhi]

She nodded.

"Sounds like something you can run remotely without too much trouble if you've got folks you trust managing the day-to-day."

They arrived at the mochi shop.

They had over 30 flavors that could be combined in the exterior and the filling.

She ordered yuzu with black sesame for them both to try.

"If you see something else that excites you, I feel sure there is no limit on how many flavors we can sample." It was her date. Her treat.

"It's not something I intend to do every day even when I am on the planet. It's not necessary, you are right, and I am a courtier, a diplomat if not a racer. I cannot imagine myself waking up every morning to just... go to the office." She shrugs kind of apologetically. It's not that she is lazy, but she's never going to overwork herself either.

With the mochi picked for her, she reaches for it and slowly brings it to her mouth to take a bite." Hmmm! Excellent. I bet that mine is way better than yours and perhaps I can be persuaded to let you try it." Yes, of course they are both of the same flavor, but playfulness is one of Senshu's most identifiable traits.
