Nakahama

Agasha Sorato stops at a crossing of paved road and dirt path, putting one foot down to hold his auto-bike upright. This part of the agricultural zone is relatively level and today is cooler than yesterday, but it's still humid inland away from the sea breezes, and riding without the fire-kami-powered pedal assist has him perspiring a little already. He shades his eyes with his hand and looks around the nearby fields while taking a drink from his water bottle.

"What do you think? Is it anything at all like Inari's Cradle?" he asks his riding partner. The two had met when Sorato stopped in at the cycle rental shop to use a tire pump on his way out of Nakahama City, and fate found them going in the same direction for fortuitously similar reasons.

The lanky Fox, who was perhaps a little too tall to ride the rented bike comfortably looked around analytically.

"It is... Well, very visually similar, in this space at least. Long stretches of highly efficient farmland. It would be fascinating to know their crop rotation schedules, though. I understand that volcanic soil is more rich and productive than typical, but just how much?" The Kitsune smiled a little at the intrigue of knowledge. "Could be quite valuable, hm?"

"Compared to our installations on Ujimitsu, it looks... quaint," the Phoenix admits, mouth quirking. "The planetary encyclopedia says island exports are limited. That surprised me, but I understand better now." Compared to farmers who have to feed big city-domes from vertical farms and kelp nurseries in less balmy climates, the agriculturalists of Shiawase island have it easy.
