[Day 11 - Mid Evening] RP Thread: Toast to the Departed

[Bayushi Senshuken]

Senshu finds some water and turns to look around her. What a lovely day to be alive! It's a shame it sucks on a personal level. She heads towards Kisha and Kotori and offers a bow.

"Hello, hello! May I join you, o fair ladies?!" She makes another bow, a playfully gracious one to fit the greeting.

Senshu finds some water and turns to look around her. What a lovely day to be alive! It's a shame it sucks on a personal level. She heads towards Kisha and Kotori and offers a bow.

"Hello, hello! May I join you, o fair ladies?!" She makes another bow, a playfully gracious one to fit the greeting.

"Ah!" Kotori stands suddenly, bowing a little too low even if Senshuken was indeed a superior. She wobbled precariously before suddenly standing straight. " Bayushi-sama!"

She nodded and took a half step down the seat before plopping down on the bench once more.

"Bayushi Senshuken!" Kisha says, smiling. "I think there's more room on the, on the bench. Come on and join us!"

She turns towards Kotori. "I'm sorry. What were you saying?"

[Yasuki Ayame]

...And Yasuki Ayame was around at the Shrine of Wealth! Tonight, she was dressed in a sea-green yukata with sharp designs and contrasting colours. The popping floral designs were reminiscent that kind of made you think of oshidama balls or stylized fireworks. This was a much-appreciated donation from Suzume Hitomi of Feather Your Nest, especially with the last few days being quite busy for the governor. Her shorter hair was fashioned into a simple chignon with a hairpin that had a few floral ornaments made with jade.

She was at the temple to pray to the departed and also wish prosperous times ahead for Shiawase Island and all of the surrounding islands that made up her province. Once that formal matter was attended to, she would happily join in the festivities!

Kanna had cleared her head with some copious amounts of water after being ousted from the drinking contest, so that gave her some free time to approach the governor. Dressed in the same new yukata with crabs she had bought that day, she approached the Governor. A part of her had hoped to see Umiko to ask how everything was to her liking, but she might as well ask Ayame too!

"Good evening, Yasuki-sama. I hope the festival's celebrations have been to your liking," she said, bowing deeply to the governor.

Honoka considered, for a spell, from her seat if she might approach her governor. However, as she was considering this she would see her approached by Kanna. Thinking better perhaps of interrupting she allowed herself to stay seated where she was. Which also allowed her to not have to sober herself up as quickly as propriety would have demanded of her. Tugging on Hiroto's sleeve she would do her best to point discreetly.

"Hiroto-san. Hiroto-san, look! Crabs. Her yukata is sooooooooooo cute. Tamori Kanna is soooooooooooooo cute," she says, happily.

Ayame had noticed that everything was already underway after her formal proceedings. As expected, people were already either rowdy or congregating in their circles. There was admittedly a bit of tension on whether she should participate in properly embracing herself or just observe. The island would likely appreciate a show of order after the stirring of the hornet nest that was the Temple of Light.

"Tamori-san! Hello!" She greeted Kanna with enthusiasm. Wait, was this the first time since the first day that she made a publicly accessible appearance?! No way! That was usually her sister's thing! Hm, maybe she could use a drink after all. "Absolutely! Umiko-chan really managed this well, with your help too, I heard! It looks great, feels great. Very cute outfit, I love the pink and the blue. Wait, are those crabs?!"

Seeing as she wasn't the only one who was drawn in by the yukata, she would wave over the other Yasuki pair. "It is very cute!"

"I've had the honor of helping your sister, yes!" she bowed her head once more. "I hope she is pleased with how things are going too!" Kanna was indeed very happy that Ayame seemed to like the festival. *And* her yukata.

With the praise from both Honoka and Ayame, she gave a little spin to show off the garment to the other women. "Courtesy of Run-It-Back in Golden Shotengai!" Like the locals, she did appreciate a great find when thrifting, as well as a good deal (even if she had more money than sense). "I wanted to wear something local for the occasion since it's celebrating Bon Festival in the Crab way."

Senshu also gets benched. "Is this the bench of thought? We have to sit here and reflect our faults? I haven't been naughty!" She declares teasingly but before she gets an answer, she notices the governor's entrance. A disappointed half smile forms on her face and her eyes watch her as she roams around the place as if it belongs to her. Well, it does belong to her. She chuckles." Perhaps we should get drinks, ladies?"

"You? Naughty? Ever? I refuse to believe it!" Kisha replies.

She does notice Senshuken's eyes, but she doesn't say anything about it.

"For drinks? I've gotta pace myself this time," she continues. "Maybe some water?"

Honoka, perhaps more in her state than in her head. Took the acknowledgement for the kind of invitation to join the conversation that implied if she didn't there would be grave social consequences. Luckily, also in her state, she was unbothered about everything. So the way in which she scrambled off in the background to get herself prepared to join them was, at worst comical and at best well.. comical. Still with Hiroto mother henning around her she would approach the pair just in time for Kanna's spin.

"Oh what a find!!" Honoka would exclaim. Continuing to unabashedly admire the outfit. Honoka herself was wearing something a little different than her usual. A yukata featuring koi fish, something she desires to wear in respect for a certain elder fish Ruisu whom has guided many of her thoughts over the years. Holding this fish in her heart, with the days plans firmly in her mind.

"My apologies, I hope I didn't interrupt," she would say quickly adding in. "Though even if it is momentary, it is good to see you! Tamori-san! Yasuki Ayame-sama!" she says, with the upbeat energy alcohol easily provides.

"Honestly.. not much to say. They were great people, who decided to love against all, and gave me all the tools I needed to grow. I miss them, of course, but I don't feel pain, and I guess they succeeded in making me be indepedent."

Ichitaiyo then turned to the Unicorn. "Any particular squadron mates come to mind?"

"Utaku Minso...she wasn't really a squadron mate, but was in the same carrier wing." Suh-Hyun's eyes were back on the stars, "A true Battle Maiden. Honorable, talented, beautiful. Seemed destined to be the sort of Ace whose face fills movie screens and posters. She rescued me once, downing a particularly tenacious enemy who I wasn't able to shake."

"She was quiet one in the carrier though, never seemed to waste words. But still somehow friendly, in her unobtrusive way." She smiled slightly, "I think her and another Utaku were...friends of a particular sort, more then just alleviating boredom. Minso died saving her friend, diving into a hopeless fight so I am told."

"I just remember coming in one day to see her friend in the mess, there but not quite there and alone."

"But tonight it is our duty as samurai to drink! It might be a heavy duty, but one we cannot possibly ignore. It is tradition!" Her eyes fly once again where they are supposed not to and then she grins while stopping one of the servants and getting three bottles of water and three shots for them.

"Let it not be said I'm not dutiful," Kisha says. But she drinks the water first, gulping at it with thirst surprising in so small a person.

Before she takes the shot, she will ask "And you're okay, Bayushi-san? I want my friends to be okay."

She's traditional like that!

"Oh come on! I'm still Bayushi san? Not Senshu, Sen or even Senshuken?" She drinks her shot tradionally, in one go, and grins. Another thing between them is tradition by now. Her eyes spark both from the alcohol consumption and because her idea is just a great one!

"I'm fine, everything is fine. Like super, duper, wow kind of fine!" She exclaims while her hand slips between them as they sit on the bench and goes for her pouch. Not her best effort admittedly.

"I didn't want to presume, Sen-san," replies Kisha, giggling a little as she takes her own drink. "Sen-san, Sen-san!"

She doesn't notice Senshuken's hand slipping into her pocket, as such, but the sudden closeness does get a reaction out of her.

"Not in front of everybody!" she says, quietly. "It's too embarrassing!"

And, indeed, she's flushing brightly.

"No interruption at all for me, Yasuki-sama. I was just asking our Lady Governor if she was enjoying herself and the efforts put in by everyone," and judging by Kanna's voice it had been a positive reception.

"Ahh your own yukata is so cute too! Koi fish are good luck, so you're sure to have some luck tonight!" Not that Kanna implied anything with that. "And Yasuki Ayame-sama is so stylish! Sea-green is a great color on you."

"Umiko-chan might not be here right now, but I'm sure she'll hear all about it in the morning. I noticed a bit of news coverage too," she nodded, internally glad that there was the festival for the Silver Fin Production channels to immediately put their attention on rather than the incident last night.

"Huh! Really? That's quite a find! Maybe I should consider shopping there one day! You do look pretty good in pink and blue!" She blinked at the source of the yukata, it did seem a little cute to have been an immediate purchase! Ayame herself likely had a number of things that could fill up a few racks at the used clothing store, likely provide some interesting finds, to say the least. It might take a few days of work to sift through everything in her closet, wardrobe, chairs, floors, and tables...

"Looking pretty prosperous, Yasuki Honoka-san," she would nod appreciatively at Honaka, who was wearing practically a whole pond's worth of carp!

She grinned widely at the compliment and gladly took a moment to style and show off. Well, it wasn't her usual flashy or revealing outfits, but she did pose with one foot off the ground and her hands used to keep her chin up as she framed herself adorably.

"But seriously," she chuckled. "This is all Suzume Hitomi-san of Feather Your Nest coming to the rescue at the last minute! Who knows what I could have pulled from the rack on short notice?"

[Kaiu Nagisa]

Nagisa finds herself slumped over a table. I stead of a traditional yukata, the Kaiu is wearing the traditional uniform of a pyrotechnician, the hanten. She’s mumbled something about an apology to her grandfather but overall she seems out of it.

Water. She takes a sip, head back down. Lighting the fireworks is going to suuuuuck.

"The monks said... no more sake..." She grumbles before flicking her head back slightly to send the veil fluttering up just long enough to slip rhe glass below and drink it in one go.

Her eyes scrung and brow furrows slightly for a moment.

"Wait, why are we embarrassed?" She whispers loudly.

She noticed nothing.
