"I'm not making demands, either," Kisha says. "I'm new to this and don't know the etiquette. So if I've offended, I apologize; help cure my ignorance, please."

[Yasuki Taraka]

Ah the tradition of over-polite 'No after you.' Taraka wasn't going to fall into that trap.

She gave a small shrug.

"Sounds like Miya-san and Susumu-san are up then." she declares, moving out of the holo-drones range. The focus was meant to be on the pilots and the duel.

[Susumu Sumiko]

"Sounds good" Sumiko nodded, taking her backpack off and bringing out her drone - pitch black with bright green trimmings around both the drone and the flag. She put it down in the battle area and stepped back to prepare for battle!

[Miya Kisha]

"Good luck!" Kisha says before placing her drone and its banner (still plain at this point; when has there been time to do much customization), stepping back, and sending it aloft.

It's clear that the Miya's practice in working with her holodrone stands her in good stead, as she swiftly flies the Battle Carp up, shooting skyward at a breakneck pace until it seems to vanish against the skyline--before it swoops down suddenly, disturbing Sumiko's drone as it plummets almost to the ground, then swoops up again and severs the Spider drone's banner, letting it flutter to the ground.

Kisha gently lands her drone and turns to bow solemnly to Sumiko.

"Thank you, Susumu-san," she says, her voice ringing with sincerity, "for giving me a good entry into this."

[Susumu Sumiko]

Sumiko did her best but quickly realised the opponent had considerable skill with drones. Or at least flying mechanical things. She was quickly outskilled and when the flag was severed there was a small chuckle.

"Impressive. Very impressive Miya-sama" Sumiko bowed deeply "I think you could be a favourite in this with your talent. Thank you for the match, my apology for being a poor opponent. Bayushi-sama however might be a challenging one for you."

[Miya Kisha]

Kisha nods.

"You weren't a poor opponent, Susumu-san," she says. "And you may well get the better of me next time we meet.

"But," and she turns to Shenshuken, "if Bayushi-san is willing, I'm still happy to try my hand at it with her."

[Bayushi Senshuken]

Senshuken bows. "Let's do this then!"

She takes her drone out of her backpack and attaches the crimson banner on it before it takes off. "Ready when you are!''

[Miya Kisha]

Kisha returns the bow and sends her drone aloft. At first, the pair seem evenly matched, Kisha's rapid ascent startling the Bayushi, but the drop expected and easily evaded. The Miya responds with a corkscrew maneuver that seems to strain the capacities of the drone, but how Senshuken responds...

"Oh you're so good at this!"

The Bayushi really lives the moment and seems to enjoy every moment of the duel even if she's losing badly.

The Bayushi's banner floats to the ground, free of its drone.

Kisha lands her own and, as the drone touches down and its rotors spin to stillness, she turns and bows to Senshuken. Her voice again rings with sincerity as she says "Thank you, too, Bayushi-san, for giving me a good first day in this."

"Oh it was so fun!" The Bayushi exclaims while landing her drone. "A teaching experience. And fun! We should do it again sometime!"

[Yasuki Taraka]

Taraka entered the results into the website.

"On the plus side, Miya-san, you've made rank 1. And Bayushi-san's closing in on Rank 3. It's shaping up to be a good league." she offered.

[Miya Kisha]

Kisha claps her hands in some excitement.

"I'm glad to be moving up in the world!" she says. "And I really do think I'll want to do this again before too long, too!

"But if I may ask you both, Susumu-san, Bayushi-san, what drew you to the drone battles?"

[Susumu Sumiko]

Sumiko gave some polite applause after a brilliant battle.

"That was exciting! Good job both of you" she smiled brightly "seeing two skilled pilots battling it out, that'll make for good footage if you recorded it Miya-sama."

She paused to consider the question, before simply saying "because I hadn't tried it before, and I enjoy trying new things. It's been an educational experience that I'm glad I tried."

[Bayushi Senshuken]

"Speed." One word but more than enough of an explanation. In Senshuken's mind at least.

"How abou you, Miya san?"

[Miya Kisha]

"Oh, I was recording," Kisha says. "But what brought me in was a desire to see and experience the culture of Tango Province, to enjoy what this part of the Empire has to offer and to gather material to tell to the rest of it."

She smiles.

"Getting to meet excellent people such as yourselves, and the inestimable Yasuki-san, is a wonderful bonus!"

[Yasuki Taraka]

Taraka grinned.

"While Flying Battle Carps is my family's business, I do get to meet a lot of great people. I'm proud to have brought them together." she said.

She almost named the Miya and the Bayushi, but then that'd awkwardly leave the Spider out.

[Susumu Sumiko]

"It is impressive how many have taken interest" Sumiko nodded "it'll make for a tense competition at the top of the leaderboards. Are there others you've seen or faced that could maybe challenge the skills of Miya-sama Bayushi-sama and yourself, Yasuki-sama?"

[Bayushi Senshuken]

"I faced a Unicorn." Senshu intervenes. "Shinjo san combines raw talent with intense training. She's invincible."

[Miya Kisha]

Kisha, for her part, seems to be taking notes and paying rapt attention.
