The size of the costume pile is such that Sorato doesn't catch on to Ochiba's move with his purchases until it's too late. "Wait! I--er. Well, I owe you one, then, Yoritomo-san."
"Well, probably only temporarily. I dunno, I've got some plans. But everything I do is expeditious."
Only a kami fortified Ochiba would be so comfortable using the word

"Hmmm? What? Agasha-san this is a second hand store, and I am fabulously rich. I'm not calling in a favour over shorts...really, no-one should. Just take it as a thank you for the advice and blessings and what not. Like a temple donation, but to you."

She hoists her own bagged clothes over her shoulder, passing the smaller bag to Sorato.
"Besides, you're already coming to the party. So let's call it square...but if you go hunting like, giant sharks or dinosaurs or something and don't tell me, then you'll owe me."

Sorato takes the bag with a slightly shy smile. Temple donations don't usually work that way... well, no, it's not so unusual to accept a meal or a gift as thanks for spiritual services, really, it's just that it doesn't often happen right at the cash register. Clearly Mantis do things differently!

"I'll remember that." He nods solemnly, hesitates for half a moment, and decides to go for it. Expeditiously. "Actually, I hadn't planned on hunting sharks, exactly. But there are some areas around the island with wildlife warnings that sound worth seeing."

"Heeeey! Now you are speaking my language Agasha-san, what you got? Giant spiders? Giant Sharks? Giant...mushroom monsters?" It seemed unlikely.

"If it's gonna be cool and you need someone watching your back." She pats her guns. "Count me in, but I ain't gonna do much science stuff unless it's like tagging things."

"I don't know of any spiders of unusual size." Sorato holds the shop door open for Ochiba, who is carrying rather more and bigger bags than he is. "Sharks... actually, yes, according to the planetary encyclopedia. Big ones. On land I'm more concerned about the volcano lizards, though. And there is supposed to be a kind of ambulatory plant in the deep jungle that's rather aggressive, which is interesting."

Ochiba grins in thanks, staggering out onto the street loaded down with costumes.
"Oh yeah, those all sound awesome. What even is an aggressive ambulatory plant?" Frowning "I'm hoping like a flytrap with vine treads. Either way, you want to go look at...geology and bacteria near those guys I'm more than happy to watch your back. Oh, but if we do fight a shark I'm calling dibs on the teeth. That will be an absolutely perfect decoration for my cabin."

"You've got it, Yoritomo-san." Sorato smiles and follows her out the door, letting it swing closed behind him. Greatsharks seem to be fairly well known, from what he recalls, so there's likely little mystery about their dentition... if something like that really does happen, Ochiba's prize would be well-earned and not begrudged by science. "As for the plant... all the pictures I could find are, well, indistinct. They call it a Jigoku flower, quite a superstitious name."

"Do you need help to your car?" Hopefully she has a car to move all that.

(fade out soon, probably, right?)

"Oh no...but come along so I can show it off. It is sick. Got this engineer to supercharge it..."

((Happy to fade to car! :D thanks for the RP!))
