"I respect that ambition, if a Mantis couldn't make it work than nobody could! Still, that view really is something. Maybe I'll make a go of it one day, kinda private out here, could be a nice place for a business center for sensitive decisions."

And of course, an incredibly gaudy orochi sign.

"Bet a bunch of the local kids get high int here, or at least I hope they do."

She cocks her head slightly. "Wondering how worried we should be about volcano lizards."

"Not very, check it out."
Ochiba pulls out her communicator and brings up the volcano lizard selfie.
"Wait shit, one second..." tap tap. "And there we go." Now the selfie had the large smiley emojy over most of Ochiba.
"Pretty cool, right? The lizard that is. Gave it the old Ochiba one two! Than Kanna-san reached out to the kami and I gave it a three and it died."

She nods "there've been rumors of folks heading out there, doing dumb stuff. So far no spectacular fatalities as a ceiling collapses or anything, But really, building on a volcano is just...let's say historically unsound. Just put in a place on one of the more remote islands and buy one of those water planes."

Hitomi blanches at the large, if obviously dead, lizard selfie. "Hopefully you won't need the three if one strolls out here, since I've not gift to influence the kami." She looks closer. "That's...really ugly." Her head tilts, "but not particularly bloody. What did you kill it with? Were you hiking out here with Kanna?"

"Oh I used my pistols." She taps the butt of one of her guns. "And...uhhh, some stuff."
Pause, then innocently" "Being a Sparrow I imagine you're a bit more on the traditional side of medicine and technology and stuff?"
Before continuing.
"We were actually at the onsen, she has an amazing skincare routine. It uhh, may have killed a bunch of people. I didn't just randomly kill it. I mean, it was amazing, but I don't kill animals randomly, that'd be weird."

There are a few things to take in there. Ok...first. "The onsen!" And people died! She hadn't caught that in the rumormill yet. "Well that's actually terrible. And I'm taking that trip off next week's schedule." She fiddles wither her densai to adjust her schedule. "Hard to relax there thinking about monsters trotting in."

Absently as she fiddles with her schedule, "Hmm? Sort of traditional, but like," she holds up her densai, "I'm not on of those who actually decides to live full time in the historical districts, neh? I like ginger tea *and* modern antibiotics." The topic seemed a little random.

"Well, that's good," she says as the electronics are tucked away. "Randomly shooting up the forest is frowned upon, and there are patrols and such out here, even if we haven't run into any."

"It wasn't that tough, really. Sure you could have taken it."
Ochiba grins in what she clearly expects is an encouraging way.

"So, like. Say someone had some combat fleshcrafts, that wouldn't be that crazy, would it? I mean, the Crab have tonnes, right? And if they didn't use them for randomly shooting up forests, so much the better?"
Despite her air of confidence the Mantis has unconsciously started edging up the volcano.

She gives the Mantis a very doubtful look, "now you're just making fun. I have a very small gun that would barely dent one of those...assuming I hit it. Which I wouldn't, because who takes a gun into an onsen...."

That along with the previous question leads thoughts in a direction visible by the slowly dawning light in her eyes. Thought, leading to deduction, leading to certainty as Ochiba keeps talking. "Oh, well that's... It makes sense that you'd actually have that in the onsen." She looks more closely at the Mantis, trying to determine which limb was the fake.

"I mean, I wouldn't want one, but they certainly seem to work better than the old-fashioned prosthetics for injured folks. I'll probably have glasses someday...might be nice to get ones that have some built in magnification for looking a fine details." As comparisons go, it's kind of awkward.

"Talked to one of the local Crab a few days back who works with them, seemed pretty ok," she says in a mildly surprised tone

Clearly concerned about Hitomi being shot in the bath.
“You can get these great little holdouts to go with your knife. I’ll buy you one. Important you look after yourself.”

"So it's like....wires? Inside? Wait, ink? How does that work to get to your heart?" There's a a frown at the thought of ink tracing along muscle and viscera all the way into one's chest. "Isn't that dangerous? Like, could you electrocute yourself?"

"Yeah, kids can be pretty ruthless if you're down low on the pecking order. And I imagine the Doji are just annoyingly passive aggressive."
Shuddering as she follows Hitomi up the trail, the slope steepening as they neared the top.

"Wires and ink! The ink stores the electricity, it's all kinds of proprietary monk stuff, I don't understand half of it. But while it is incredibly, awesomly dangerous to my enemies it has not caused my heart to explode yet. I actually had that checked recently. And in theory I shouldn't be able to zap myself, yikes, that would be embarrassing. Oh, and I can't zap you either...by mistake I mean, I could definitely zap you on purpose but I won't."

Smiling a friendly smile.
"So, you trained as a Crane because you're Sparrow royalty, what were their dojos like? Tea and how to dress and that polite expression folks do when they're not sure what the other samurai said? Did you enjoy it at all?"
