Taraka took the offered drink gratefully.

"I wonder how many crimes went unreported in the actual Painted City?" Taraka muses. "If no one is willing to break character, it seems like there'd be a lot of opportunity for crime to go unnoticed by the authorities."

"And how would you know if it's a real crime or part of the act?" Kisha adds. "I mean, sneaking into a hotel room or something might be breaking and entering, yeah, or it might be setting a scene.

"Got any more of that mango?"

He handed her one. "I'm trying to get him to rar healthier."

Taraka tilted her head at that.

"What would he rather have?" she asks, uncertain exactly what famous monkeys ate.

"Thanks!" Kisha says, and begins to peel back the skin of the fruit.

"But, yes, what would the Detective rather eat?"

Then, as the screen flickers, "Oh, that was a close one!"

"He developed a taste for fruit gumnies on the World of..." He focused his attention on the show.

The thrown axe embedded itself into the wall, mere inches from Kuni Oharu's face. In the darkness footsteps could be heard rapidly departing.

"Wait wait!" cried Kuni Oharu as she chased after her would be assailant.

"That was a close shave," Taraka commented.

"Get him! Get him!"

Kisha finds herself swept up in the narrative. It's probably not the best thing for a medialite to do.

"They action sequences are done so well." He grinned.

The Kitsune was definitely not what she was expecting. Taraka decided to try a different angle.

"They really are, aren't they?" she mused. "It all looks so natural, but I wonder how many tries it took to get that axe to stick just right?

"Kami, can you imagine if they missed?" Kisha asks.

"There are tricks for that." He said. "Most likely a forced perspective. But, the choreography. They aren't hiding it like many shows do, with close-ups and dark lighting."

Taraka nodded, but didn't want to press the Kitsuki for more on that. A more through technical explanation would remove the magic of the program.

"The body is gone!" exclaimed Extra One.

"Gone? But where could a body go go?" Kuni Oharu mused. "Ahh, I see now. Very very clever."

Kisha makes to say something, but, alas, she had just popped a piece of mango into her mouth.

It's sometimes a useful fruit, really.

"We're getting close to the reveal. Who will it be? Maybe the tea merchant...?" He pondered.

Taraka too was in, 'Last Commercial Break before the Reveal analysis mode.'

"The tea merchant, huh? I'll admit his puns were terrible, but surely not worth killing over." she mused. "My money is on the alleged junshin. I know all of the other Scorpions keep going on and on about she doesn't fit in Painted City, but I'd bet she was the one leaving all those mysterious messages laying around."

She looked over to the Miya.

"Well, Miya-san? You've got just until we're told how Kisada Crunch is part of a complete breakfast to pick the culprit. Tea Merchant? Junshin? The ever alluring third option?" she asked.

Swallowing the fruit she had been eating, Kisha nods.

"I'm still not sure there really was a killing," she says. "I mean, it'd be a twist, but not a twist, really, so very apropos for Painted City."

"A distraction from something else, maybe?"

He asked as the commercials ended.

"As many layers as an onion," Kisha replies.

"Oh, wait! Don't tell me they're going to end the episode before the reveal!"

"Interesting, they usual keep it very episodic. Maybe their finally trying longer storylines." he mused.
