[D2, LA] Soaking feet and worries (Open)

Smiling, Akito held out his hands. "Hey, don't worry, Kitsuki-san. We're just having a bit of fun. Something to do while we soak."

He flashed a quick wink at the Bayushi, but then took a deep breath. "Well, hey. Not everyone likes having other Clans in our business, but I'm all for it. The Governor's a smart one from what I've seen. She's been turning this place into more than just a place to lie on the beach and have a fancy drink." He chuckled. "I mean, I'm all for doing that. But it's good to have other stuff, too."

He shrugged again, his shoulders rising and falling. "Guess we'll see if it all comes together."

Letting the passing lay between the crab and scorpion, she resumed the chat.

"So, how is it to be a racer? Do you follow some kind of special excersice regimes? Neck strength routines?"

Then aerobic excerices for stamina and of course hours of training in a simulator for my reflexes and agility. And I shouldn't forget the engineering classes. I need those as well."

Akito grunted. "There's a lot of fellow in my unit who'd say the same thing about their rifles." He said. "Maybe it's a smaller step from sword to gun than sword to vehicle, but it fits."

Leaning back again, he blew out a puff of air. "And working shipboard... the engineers up there talk about the ships like they're people. It didn't take long before I started to feel the same way."

He looked at Senshuken, eyes narrowing. "You have a special vehicle? Your first, or the one you had the longest, or something?"

''Yes, a unique connection is built. You love it, you give it the most special of names, you take care of it and hope that in case of a need, in some sense, it will take care of you. Bike accidents specifically are rather lethal so maintance and engineer knowledge can really save your life.''

She thinks for the tiniest of the moments. ''There is this old bike that my father has given me. It was one of his first and till this day the one I love working on and driving when I return home. It is not considered fast nowadays, but it is unique in each own way.''

"I heard something about true driving master being those capable of not making fast vehicles fast, but rather, making slow ones fast, by squeezing each inch of the machinery." Ichitaiyo commented with curiosity to what would be the reaction. "Maybe you enjoy being so attuned to that bike because you know you're the one that can best use it."

Akito took a deep breath. "Wow. Okay." He was silent a few moments. "You make it sound pretty cool. I-" He bit off whatever words he'd been about to say.

Then he turned to look at the Kitsuki. "What about you, Kitsuki-san? You have something that makes you feel like that?" He chuckled. "Right now, all I know about you is that you work in a corp, and that's a lot of samurai." His eyes narrowed as he studied her; actually, he could make a few more guesses, but he wasn't going to vocalize them.

He gaped her mouth for a moment as she found herself under the scrutinizing gaze of the other two, presented with the mortifying ordeal of being known. There was a moment of hesitation woth a sidelong gaze, before she admitted to the defeat.

"I travel plenty for my duties and the Dragon philosophies on itself reject materialism.. so.. I... have taken dancing as a hobby. Something I can do anywhere, and hide myself amongst the heimin in nightclubs."

Smiling, Akito glanced over at Senshuken, then back to Ichitaiyo. "Well. How about that?" There was humor in his voice, but gentle.

He leaned back against the side of the pool again. "Lots of places like that in Nakahama. You gone to check any of them out yet?"

"I sure do. I do try out the smaller ones. More people enjoying the dancing and experience on itself, instead of trying to register themselves for the status a high-end club brings." She replied, a second more of pausing coming. "And the drinks are cheaper."

That got a quick grin from the Crab. "You had me at cheaper drinks. I'm sold, smaller places are where it's at."

His expression lost a little of its insouciance. "But I think you're right about the rest of it, too. For some people, there's a performative aspect to everything. Even fun. I don't know how they manage it, but they do."

Akito thought on that a moment, and then he smiled again. "So... maybe I'll see you at one of those places some night, eh? I've been known to frequent them myself."

Akito glanced back and forth between the two of them, smiling, even as one could almost see a giant sweat drop forming on his forehead. If there was sniping going on, the odds of him catching a few stray shots was pretty high.

He cleared his throat, still smiling. "Hey, no pressure. Maybe we meet, maybe we don't. Whatever you like." He looked at Senshuken. "What about you, Bayushi-san? I'd wager you know how to dance."

She sets the record straight, by admiting utter gayness. ''But in dancing and drinking?'' She smirks and shrugs. ''Okay, you probably win there, too. Both of you. I've kinda promised to take it easy.''

"I'm sure nobody in this island is at least a little gay, man or woman. Something in the air." Ichitaiyo chuckled, turning to both. "All fun and games here, no intent for more. At least not sober."

Then he looked over to Ichitaiyo. "Speaking as someone from here..." Akito smirked, "-I think it's something in the water actually." Chuckling softly, he trailed his fingers through the pool.

"Well, we'll have to see, then. It's a small island. There's only so many dancing spots. Good ones, at least." His eyes narrowed ever so slightly. "With cheap drinks."

Now she had a little skip on her chest as the notion of a game was laid asides for a moment. To be desired, wanted.. it felt alien these years, it caught her on headlights, too visibly. She was glad the hot water could hide the gentle dusting on her cheeks.

"May we find time for such, Hiruma-san."

Non-commital, but surely not closing the door.
