(D2, ME, RoP) A truly awful dinner

[Yasuki Taraka]

Taraka nodded.

"Just think what'll happen if your marry out of clan, Asako-san. Your children will ask what it means to be your then clan and you'll have to say, 'Ok, I can tell you what an Asako born, Ide-trained courtier thinks of this clan.' You'll need to have a whole presentation ready." she teases.

[Asako Hikari]

"I'm sure some Matsu woman will think I am eminently house-husbandable and convince my lord that I'd be better served keeping her estate functional while she's off tearing superfluous new orifices in the enemy of the week of the Lion. Either that or the Unicorn will call in their favors for training me and I'll end up doing the same thing for an Utaku or Moto woman."

Hikari smirked and took another drink.

Taraka smiled a bit at that.

"Just you and your books and time, hm, Asako-san?" she teased.

Taraka couldn't imagine being bound to simple estate management like her older sister. If she wasn't out there fighting for finances, what was the point of life?

[Asako Hikari]

"I would most assuredly go insane. While I'm not against peace, being tethered down to one spot too long makes me a bit antsy. Probably my sensei rubbing off on me. I'd have to invent new financial disasters just to dig myself out of them."

He went for the next wing, taking a bite out of it.

The next wing was Bad. Literally. As the second to last wing on the Rainbow, Bad was just trying to overwhelm with heat as quickly as possible. One quick knockout punch to down the challenger giving them no time to brace themselves.

"Hmmm, it would certainly stand out in the histories. "The great tuna financial crisis of 2140 was precipitated when an overly bored courtier decided rather than buy groceries every week, he would simply corner the market on foodstuffs so he never had to shop again." she joked.

[Asako Hikari]

As soon as he bit into it, Hikari looked like he regretted it...but if he made it this far, he could probably deal with the rest...but damn, was it hot.

"You could use this sauce to strip paint...it's no small wonder they call you a hero for finishing these. Did Togashi breathe on them as a finishing touch?" He took a gulp down his drink, fanning himself as sweat beaded up even more on his forehead now.

"I am finding it challenging to laugh at the moment Yasuki-san, but that was funny." He manages a bit of a pained grin before he settles, giving a nod.

"If I somehow managed to do that though, I'm sure my ancestors would disapprove even more...but I might get points with Yasuki and Yoritomo."

Taraka grinnerd a bit at that.

"Well, I don't know about Togashi, but I've heard of people breathing fire after finishing the challenge." she commented.

As a point of fact, those people had not been talking about breathing fire through their mouth.

"The island has provided some very interesting ingredients to work with. Some of them are found in the diet of volcano lizards, and some have been carefully cultivated to try to make them inedible to even volcano lizards. Well, not literally inedible, but at least strong enough to make one consider their life choices carefully." she added.

[Asako Hikari]

"Well, if someone is ever looking for flame retardant materials, they can test and see if the sauce from this one is held off, otherwise it will fail."

Taking another long drink, he seems to calm down a bit before looking at the final wing with a mild apprehension.

"If this one kills me, I'm haunting you."

He manages a grin while lifting a napkin to wipe his brow...and then he lifts the final wing to take a bite, hoping to get it over with.

He'd torn clear through Icky without skipping a beat and now he was facing off against "Vitriolic" At first, he didn't feel anything. Almost like the the wing was not sauced at all. Then...he started to feel a little burn. Then a lot of burn. It just kept building and building as if it was trying to fight off being eaten. It shot waaaay past Icky on the heat scale and showed no sign of slowing down.

[Asako Hikari]

This was almost enough to make him tap out...but if he did that, how was he going to get his picture up on the wall? Besides, what was heat to a Phoenix?

...as it turns out, alot actually. He began lightly panting at the heat, draining his glass in almost a single go as the heat threatened to make him gasp from the pain.

"I think...I think if I never did this again, it would be too soon, Yasuki-san..." He was sweating like the temperature had locally risen a few dozen degrees and even the cooling waft of his temperator wasn't going anything to cool him from the inferno in his mouth.

[Yasuki Taraka]

Taraka whistled.

"It sounds like we both did it then, Asako-san. You beat the rainbow, and I found you the worst possible dinner." she said, finishing her own regular wings.

She waved the waitress over to take a picture.

"Look this way, Asako-san!" the waitress said ready to take a picture of him at his sweatiest.

[Asako Hikari]

"This is...truly...one of the worst," Hikari says, in between gasps for cool air to futilely quench the heat in his mouth. As the waitress calls, he turns to look at her for the picture, forcing a smile. At least he'd have the distinction of being the only Phoenix up on the Wall of Heroes.

"Somehow, Yasuki-san, I feel compelled to make the best dinner equally as tortuous as this one, but that might go against my better nature."

[Yasuki Taraka]

Taraka chuckled at that.

"I'd have to sue you for breach of contract for that, Asako-san." she said as the picture was taken. "The point of the two dinners was one had to experience both the worst and the best to appreciate the other. My expectations are to be absolutely blissful for that dinner."

She grinned.

"I'm confident Asako-san will pull it off, and look forward to his attempt."

[Asako Hikari]

"Ah, but if I make the dinner so sublime as to have all other food pale in comparison, would that not be torturous but also fulfill the terms of our bargain?" He took another drink and seemed to be recovering slightly, wiping his brow once more.

"I will certainly do my best."

[Yasuki Taraka]

Taraka nodded.

"I'm sure you will, Asako-san." she said, finishing her drink and reaching for her purse. "You about ready to go, or are you thinking of going for a double rainbow?"

[Asako Hikari]

"I would sooner kiss a lava lizard, Yasuki-san. Let us get out of here..."
