Taraka smiled a bit at that.
"Well it does mark you as not-local, Miya-san, but I like the positive energy." she admits. "The carps are ready to fly upon sale, but if you want to buy them dissembled, that's easily enough arranged. Some people like putting them together themselves, some people just want to get into the sky as soon as possible. The contests have been around since the store's been open, though each time we refine the format and rules a bit to better serve our clients. My mother ran the contests up until a few years ago when I took over."

"Makes sense," Kisha says, "since I'm not local. And, honestly, what Miya is local anywhere?
"But what rules changes has the current season--Is it a season? A series?--brought? And what do those changes address?"
Again, the lean in.

Taraka nods.
"This time around with allowing pilots to have a bit more flexibility in the challenges. Previous contests were done at specific set times and places. The problem with doing them that way is that people's schedules can be difficult to work with. Everyone has duties they need to attend to, so they can't always make a specific time and place. And besides, this opens up the locations of where you can duel. Azuma Beach is fine, but maybe you want to duel close to the mountains or even upon the open sea itself. Duel whenever works for your schedule, wherever seems most fitting, local regulations permitting."

"You know, it sounds fun," Kisha says. "I'd love to try it, maybe tomorrow? How would I go about doing it?"

Taraka nods.
"Sure, just swing by the store tomorrow and we'll get you set up. Say mid-afternoon?" she offered.

"I think I can do that!" Kisha says. "I'll look forward to it!"
(And, in the interest of ease, she'll do it here,
