(D1, ME) Open Late

[Yasuki Taraka]

Taraka caught herself as a memory came to mind.

"Ah, actually Yoritomo-san named hers 'Velvet Thunder'" she admitted.

She ran the payment.

"Mine's known as Coin's Edge" she added.

Which hadn't been true until just now. Taraka didn't have her father's obsession with the drones. To her it was just her family's business. It didn't really impact her if that business was drones, pogo sticks or life-sized cutouts of Yasuki Umiko. She'd sell all of them with the same single-minded determination. But adding names might add to the appeal and so now it was known to Taraka and everyone in earshot that her's was Coin's Edge. She'd add the lettering later.

"I'll go ahead and add you to the board, Yasuki-sama. And a name for the carp if you have one in mind, or you can send it to me later, just let me know. And do let me know if you participate in any duels."

She bowed.

"Also, thank you for your business. I think it may be a real boon, even if you can't dedicate much time to the hobby."

She nodded over at the prize table with the plushies.

"But maybe one or two of these will stay with us all on the island."

Umiko narrowed her eyes as she found herself in a position trying to muster up a name for her drone. With everything that's been going on in the city and the workload on her desk, this might be an opportunity that would be passed up if she didn't tackle it now. "So people have names for their Battle Carps? Umm...Let's go with something along the lines of...Heavenly Sail? Yes, let's go with Heavenly Sail."

She nodded firmly at that choice to finalize it. It seemed apt, considering that these drones were flying banners.

"I don't know if I will be the one to keep these plushies here," she laughed softly as she put her card away in her purse. "But I will do my duty to put up a valiant effort at the very least! At the very least, it would be interesting to meet some of your customers and members of the Flying Battle Carps community."

Taraka entered the data into the leaderboard.

"It's a win either way, Yasuki-sama. If all you come away with is more time spent with people who can boost the island, I'm sure you can afford to treat yourself to a different plushie."

Rather than winning at all costs, winning either way tending to fit a lot of Yasuki a lot better.

"The reward is likely in the time spent already, but I'm sure I could treat myself to further awards, if it goes well," she laughed softly at that thought.

She gave a momentary glance outside and noticed that her worker squad was getting ahead of her in their progress and processing further down the shopping street to visit other stores to recruit some late-minute volunteers.

"Ahh! My apologies, Yasuki-san!" She exclaimed with a hurried bow. "I must head out and catch up with the others. I'm sure we can count on you to volunteer, and I will see you tomorrow! Thank you for the conversation and for selling me on a Battle Carp. Have yourself a good evening!"

"Please come again, Yasuki-sama." she offered with a bow before closing the shop down for the evening.
