"Actually," Junpei would say a bit apologetically as he was obligated to correct her for her mistake. He would take a look at his Maisuna wristwatch, which he still wore, even if it cost him the whole vibe of his traditional outfit. "It's actually the hour of the Dog right now, which would technically still make it mid-evening. However, everything else can still be true. It is indeed a good time, at the very least!"Tamori Kanna wrote: Mon Dec 08, 2025 3:12 pm Busted by the fuzz! Or something along those lines, was what Kanna thought someone like Ochiba would say in this situation.
"Ahaha," she chuckled a bit nervously, "excuse me, minna-sama. Gotta make sure everyone's having a good time. Enjoy your evening," Kanna bowed to Ayame and Honoka, shuffling off respectfully from the two ladies engaged in a very familiar talk that she felt wasn't her place to participate in. But it was good because they seemed happy!
Winding her way over to Junpei, Kanna pressed her cheeks briefly and hoped she could play off the redness as a side-effect of the drinks. "Kuni-sama, good afternoon!" she greeted, smiling as usual. "Glad to see you could make it. Here for the drinks too?"
He would smile back at her and nod. "I suppose we did see each other in the afternoon earlier. I hope that our meal at Muri Donburi provided you with the proper hearty nutritional edge to compete earlier?"
That might have been a bit of a silly question. Kanna didn't do so well earlier, so Junpei was more than ready to move on before she needed to answer that! "...Unfortunately, I won't be competing tonight as the head magistrate here, but that isn't to say that I'm not here for drinks. There is a provision in the local magistrate code that say I am allowed to have drinks equal to one plus the amount of supporting yoriki I have on hand at the moment. So..."
"One, two," he said as he made a quick count of a few heads he could see at the party. "I can indulge in up to three drinks tonight if I wish. Not enough to participate but enough to honour the Bon Festival. At the very least, I should dedicate one to my late sensei. Did...or rather, would Tamori-san like to join me?"
